Hey there,
I'm just a little annoyed and have to share it.
Yesterday we attended my hubbys work Chrissy party at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort up on the Sunny Coast. I'm a bit funny about feeding in front of strangers when they are eating so I took Alyssa to the 'parents room' to change and feed her.
All they had was a change table with a baby blanket on it (gross). How many bubs had been changed on it? And what I assumed was a feeding chair was in the corner. No probs about that but it was in with the TOILETS!!!!!! (DOUBLE GROSS). I started feeding her but had to get out of there pretty quick when I thought of all the germs etc floating around.
How can such a flashy joint not cater for the little people. I'm tempted to complain about it.
Stuff everyone else. I'll feed her wherever I want to. :p
What dreadful facilities! I must say, I have no experiences of hotels with baba's yet but I would have assumed they would have had a reasonable parents room.
I hope you complained. A chair in the toilet, for pity sake.
I know what you mean about feeding in public. I am usually grand about it, but sometimes I still feel a little self conscious, especially when a door creaking in the next room is enough of a distraction for baba's head to go flying off the breast leaving you fully exposed!

Yep I had a really bad experience once when I was still bf DS.
I was out shopping with DH's uncle and cousin and I didnt knw them very well at the time so I found bf infront of them uncomfortable (If DH had of been there I would have been fine)
Any way we were at a very large brand new shopping centre and the parents room was this dirty little room adjoining the toliets with one crappy chair and a change table. The worst thing was that people had to walk thru the room to get to the toliets  it was awful and I was almost in tears afterwards as every man women and child had a good look at me as they went passed.
Afterwards I thought hey I should have just sat in the middle of the food court with my breasts exposed, that would have been less humiliating
yes tis not so bad when they are tiny and obsessed with the boob, but when they get a bit older you often need more privacy as they are constantly lokoing around, getting distracted etc. i have made many a complaint about various baby room facilities, there are alot that are just not acceptable! some of them there are no way i would feed my child their lunch in there! (hey m&m, have they fixed up the one at luna park yet? i made a big fuss of that one, a filthy old lounge, which i wouldnt have sat on if someone paid me, and the smell of poo in there was so overwhelming, no way could you stay in there for more than a min!)you would think that a nice hotel would be able to afford to set up a nice little room for parents and their little ones, i hope you complained loudly!! :)
sarah, that is horrible!!

Thanks Coops, yes it was horrible.
The thing that gets me is most times I really didnt care where I bf O (eg in public, people around etc it didnt really worry me much) but sometimes you are some where and you feel really uncomfortable and need some nice quiet place where you feel safe and CLEAN!!!.
Those are the times when clean, private and pleasant parent rooms are so needed!
I think back and wonder how our mum's,grandma's and greatgrandma's ever got by LOL I wonder what they did :)
i know, some days you just really need that privacy and if you dont get it, and your already feeling hormonal and frazzled, it can really make you upset,
on the up side, i have been to a couple of major shopping malls, that have A+ changing/feeding facilities, the one near my mum even has a big tv with nickolodean always on it, so your other kids dont get bored while they wait for you to feed and change bubs! :)
exactly - I love the parents room in the Westfield Bondi Junction - clean and bright with nice harbour views. It is nice when they make a bit of an effort!
