We are due to havesecond bubs in sept. Brendan will nearly be 2 but very active and would like to purchase a pram for both children. Can anyone recommend a decent one?
Should i buy a side-by-side, 3 wheeler with a toddler seat, a long stoller with one child at the front and the other in the back.
Would love some feedback as those with such strollers are the best for advice!!!!
Thanks in advance

all have advantages and disadvantages i guess.

this is just what ive heard/read about them:

3 wheeler with todder attachment-can be very unstable as is and made worse with toddler seat attached, makes it top heavy and unstable.

side by side-can be difficult to push a newborn with toddler because the weight is unevenly distrubuted but some models are worse than others.

tandem (one behind the other)-also can be unstable, due to weight distrubution. especially around corners etc.

i maybe will need a double pram in 3 months time but dont know if i should bother. was thinking just to have baby in sling and DS in pram or DS walking and baby in pram...dont know yet...

I have a 2 year old n a 2 month old and I have a steelcraft duolite and i love it. Gets through most doors, easy to push (easier than my single jogger) and just plain good alround!!!!

I agree with what sweetnes said.

I am looking at the phil and ted, DS will be 21 months when the new baby is born and I don't think that he will be old enough to walk everywhere so the phil and ted is looking like the best option for me.

Hi

the configuration of your double stroller is personal choice

we test drove several in the shops and asked friends with 2 close in age what they had done, and whether they were happy.
we settled on the Mclaren Twin Traveller and were very happy with our decision

(reasons we love it - both can see out and stretch legs, both can lay back, independent layback and hoods for shade, fits through standard doorway, folds up easily and fairly small and light, very easy to push and steer - even with different weights or just one sitting in)

another friend went with the phil and ted's e3 and she's very happy with that

it might help to think about where and when you will use the pram, indoors/outdoors, shopping or walking, or all of the above! (lol) And will there be times when only one will be sitting in the pram or both need to sleep? etc

depending on your lifestyle you might be able to get away without buying one at all!

for example for short outings my 2 year old would walk holding onto the single pram or stroller, or I would carry bubs in the sling and push big sister, and at the supermarket I found a store with trolleys with 2 seats (baby and toddler) and if out with 2 adults (eg DH or Grandma) we generally make my eldest walk and pick her up when needed or just stop for a rest

consequently we only use the twin stroller for longer outings and long walks, and when I'm on my own with both of them

hope that helps

good luck

hi, i bought a baby love pram, called sit & stand, the younger bub goes in the front & the toddler can sit or stand on the back, it still has a 5 point harness for the toddler on the back to strap them in, its limo style so it pretty much fits through any check out etc etc.

I have a 20 month age gap and we ended up witha phil and teds - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!

can easily be used for jsut one child or two
steers easily with both kids in, no chance od toppling
compact - folds up small adn fits down aisles/through checkouts
before i used it I was really quite sceptical, but in action, it is fantastic. Bub at back can still see what is going on.
Both my kids fall asleep in this pram, so it must be comfy - my kids generally don't fall asleep easily anywhere lol! Thats all I can think to tell you right now, but def. go and check one out. Only downfall is that you can't hang your nappy bag from it, but we got their 'saddlebags' which attach to the side of the pram to solve that problem.
