Hi everyone

Just wondering if you have all found out how your placenta is developing?

I found out at my 12 week scan that mine is developing anteriorly.(at the front) and I have been told it is much harder to feel the baby move when it's this way.

I hope not cause I was really looking forward to it

Hey livy,

with my first i had anterior placenta at the beginning, i think i felt bub about 17 weeks, they were concerned for a while as it can interfere with natural birth but it all moved into place by due date.

This one they just said placenta looked healthy, not sure where it was tho.

I wouldnt be too worried, you will feel it and towards the end you'll be thinking, stop kicking me in the ribs little one.

Thanks Jamb ..... they didn't tell me too much about it at all. Might have to ask some more questions at my next appointment.

Glad yours worked itself out :)

Deb - best of luck with your scan next week - how exciting!!!

Hi!

I was told at my 13 wk scan that my placenta is posterior (behind) and that I may be able to feel bub move at around 16 weeks.
Can't wait to feel my lil alien!! Hope you feel yours soon too! All the best :)

hhmm, I wonder if that means mine is posterior, I'll have to ask at my scan as I've been feeling slight fluttering since week 16.

With Hugh the placenta was anterior and I didn't feel him much at all, only really when I was laying down and concentrating. And I was about week 24 before that happened, I was getting very disheartened believe me!
Having said that he was also a very lazy babe- ie the nuchal scan took 3 and 1/2 hours as he just wouldn't move so that may have had more to do with it than the placenta placement.

hi beautiful mumma's

with my first daugther my placenta was posterior and felt kicks pretty strong from about 18 weeks, and this time around everyone said i would feel them a lot earlier being the second but this time my placenta is anterior. i did feel movements at 16 weeks but now im 21 weeks and they haven't really gotten all that much stronger or more frequent, only slightly, so im a bit disappointed and was really worried but they have reassured me it is only because of the placenta, bubs is still kicking around like mad in there!

I had an anterior placenta and they told me the same thing, but I felt my little man kick at 19 weeks, and hubby felt him at 21 weeks! I hate to think what it would have felt like if my placenta was posterior! Dont be disheartened, you will feel bubs when the time is right

I would'nt stress you will feel it.
I had a posterior placenta with my first and an anterior one with my second and there was no difference to me with their movements at all.
I actually felt the second baby earlier than the first one, despite the anterior placenta.
It's all good
