I am a sucker for animals. Especially sick ones. I have always brought sick ones home and either kept them (like cats) or released them (like birds).

Anyway, I was at uni today trying to sort out parking stuff, and there was this tiny black and white kitten crouched on the ground, shivering from the cold. He was also a little wobbly on his feet and didn't look in the best of conditions. I tried to grab him but he ran away under a demountable block.

I tried to get under the block to get the kitty but couldn't see him anymore. Then I saw heaps of rat baits and hoped to god he hasn't eaten any!!! :crying:

I couldn't find him, so I went back to what I was doing. Then on my way back I decided to try and find him again. I feel sick that he is out there and possibly dying and I could have helped him (and gotten a pet out of it!) but I couldn't find him.

I just needed to let that out coz I am pretty upset about it. Sounds silly I know, but I really would have like to have taken him home. He was so cute! Boo hoo!!!! :gloomy:

That doesnt sound silly at all, because you sound 'exactly' like me when it comes to sick or debilatated animals. I would have done the same thing, I tried saving a baby 'noisy minor' (not good with name on the wild/native kinds) the other night, but he/she was too young and died on me. I work with animals so i know how bad you feel.. Just think at least you did try, some people wouldnt have bothered. Cheer up.....
