Does breast feeding effect the accuracy of hpt?

I am breast feeding my 4mth old but have had some very suspicious symptoms:barf: . I thought my AF had returned but when I was due for my next one there was nothing...

I have done two hpt's, first one stuffed up but showed negative, second one a few weeks later still showed negative...by my calculations I would be about 8 weeks if I was preg so it should show up on a test by now...

Maybe I am just paranoid!!!!!!!!:o

Bfing shouldn't affect hpts, but if you are concerned, see your doctor.

Our bodies tend to go really weird after having babies, I was convinced I was pregnant so many times while BFing, it ended up happening when I got my first Af back at 11 months!

It shouldn't affect the results of the test, but if you are pregnant it can affect your breastmilk and supply.

The high levels of progesterone can suppress your milk supply and change the taste of your milk. I guess it's like nature's way of weaning the first baby before the next one comes along.

Good luck! Hope you get the news you want :)

thanks for the reassurance guys!

i think i am being overly paranoid - another baby right now would be very hard to deal with - i won't even let my poor hubby anywhere near me just in case!!!!
