The St Patricks Day Parade is on the 11th March this year and should be a blast once again.

I will definately be there and I hope to see a few of you also.

It starts at 12 midday (at least is SUPPOSED to start) and depending n the children of course I may be marching in the parade but am more than willing to drop out if a see anyone on the side.

It is a bit of a luahg, a great "family fun" day and an excuse for a bit of Irish "craic"

If you want to know more PLEASE visit http://www.stpatricksday.org.au/

My mobile is in Zoints for those who are iterested.

I might pop by to Hyde park for the end of the parade. Depends on the antics of two very grumpy males ...

Perhaps to some. But to a lot of us it is a day to celebrate our Irish heritage. Which does involve getting drunk.

Just realised it's a Sunday!!!

St Patrick's Day this year is a Saturday.....

We celebrate it each year - but mostly because it's DD's birthday!

I'll be there

St Pats DAy is the 17th March ... the parade is the Sunday before the 11th.

The parade is a way for all the Irish to gether together and to ACT, SOUND and BE Irish. For some that means drinking (well for MOST .... :p ) but for some that means listening to te Irish music, buying Irish Souveniers and for some (like me!!) to get a taste from Home ... Tayto Crisps, Red lemonade and the WORKS!!!!!

Last year Bono even made a guest appearance (seriously) instead of the Lead singer from "The U2 Experience" getting up to rock he place ... it was Bono himself.

St Pats day in Sydney is Big ... but not as big as Ireland. But you would be hard pressed to find anyway during Irish week (between Parade and ST Paddy's day) who doesn't CLAIM to have an Irish blood line!!!

It's my sons name day!:D

DH plans to celebrate on the actual day (in DH's culture your name day is a big deal) as we will be celebrating DH's 40th on the day of the parade.

DH is Armenian, of Orthodox religion. In their culture men especially celebrate their name (aka saints) day. Many men are a little embarrassed to celebrate their birthday, cos thats for girls and kids iykwim.

One year after the parade we had such a great time at the rocks we decided that if we ever had a son then his name should be Patrick so he has a ready made party on his name day.
