Hi, do any of you lovely ladies have a Predeployment/deployment, posting out home note book. I'm trying to get one done for when we post out at the end of the year. Would love to hear if you have one and what you have in it?
Heres a little info if you don't know what I mean by a home note book. (Hope I can put this link up) http://www.organizedhome.com/ftopict-336.html

Or any info on posting time would be great. What sort of stuff you do when coming up to posting time? If you don't want to post info here please pm me. Thanks

I have always just read the relocation pack from DHA. Last time it had a section on what to do in the months coming up to the move, like clean out the cupboards, eat all the frozen food etc.
Toll always have something on their forms too.

I haven't kept any of the paper work though. I will just wait for the next lot!

Hi, I've never heard of these notebooks and hubby's been in 17 years, lol. Are they american? When you receive your posting orders in writing your sent out a relocation pack which has everything you need in it. You can receive one early if you contact DHA

Hi, Are they american?? I don't know, I know around 20 women in Aus that have them. But none of them have hubbys in the defence force. I have all my menu planner's done for 12 months. I'm doing some for when/if dp on deployment - out bush. As we will eat diffter food when his away. I'm slowy making a list of stuff that I want to get done before we post out.
I'm all so making up a book with Emergency info in it just in case something happened to me and dp was't around. So some body would know who to ring to come and pick up dd. My mums phone numebr to let her know whats going on. But all so where dd might be at the time. So if some thing happen to me while she was at school, they would know what school and what time she need picking up by.
All the little things all so for dp. As I run my house he does't know the first thing about it. Where I keep any thing. Any phone numbers and where I keep the iron even.

You may fined this funny, but if some thing was to happen we would be a little ready.

Sorry I thought it was a defence issued notebook or something that you were talking about, not something you were making up yourself. DHA/DCO should be able to give you any posting info you need. I am lucky, my hubby & I share everything 50/50 and have a pretty organised household so we've never needed anything like that.

I've never heard of an "official book" however others are correct in saying the Toll Removal pack is very helpful but unfortunately this isn't available until your posting has been released (in some cases as late as October). I also like to be super organised and compile lists for everything such as people to contact for change of address/phone details. I also get electoral roll info ready, have Aus Post mail redirection p'work ready, fast connect organises utility connections/disconnections (only available to serving member). I also had a date planner for everything to be thrown out / emptied / pulled apart so we remained on track for our pre-pack day. I hope this info is of assistance. :)

DCO have put out the DP Builder CD ROM and also the School Passport for kids to keep their school records up to date. I found that it didn't really help me too much as there wasn't any room to add detailed notes apart from attaching files. You can pick them up from any DCO office. Also if you go to www.Tolltransitions.com.au/defence (http://www.Tolltransitions.com.au/defence) and click on the forms & guides links you should be able to get some info there. Hope this helps.
