Hi all,
My very nearly 1y/o DD has just decided that food is her worst enemy. She has always been a great eater but just in the last week she opens up for her food, then spits it out immediately, the only thing I can get her to eat a bit of is yoghurt or cruskits, not terribly nutritious :(
She is teething but has never been like this before.
It is driving me spare because she is still hungry and is not getting full enough on just her bottles so has been a very grumpy girl

Any suggestions....

Louise

Do you give her much finger food? She may do better with feeding herself at this age. There have been several past threads with suggestions on finger foods, though you will probably have to look further back than the last month (check search settings).

The joys of 1 year olds. I am having the same probs with my 14 month old girl.
She would eat any vegetable I dished out to her until about 2 months ago and now she is very very picky.

Yes some days she does live on crackers, water and thin air. I used to get really stressed about it now I just give her what she wants and know that she will come looking for a decent meal eventually. I even tried eating my dinner at 5.30 with her and forking the food off my plate into her mouth...oh no she was clevier that I thought and refused it.

Some nights she has jam on toast for dinner then some nights she'll eat all the vegies on her tray. Try cutting them into big chunks and letting her fed herself, yep lovely and messy. My DD likes ham, or bbq chicken or lamb chops cut into bit size pieces and feeds herself. Another trick I find is if I pretend I'm not watching she will eat heaps but the minute I sit with her, she throws it on the floor, so I stand in the kitchen watching her without her knowing. Tricky huh!!!!!

Its great to hear that others are having issues too, thought I was being a paranoid mummy!!!!

Good luck
