Hi all,

I feel like I would like to go home to the UK for a holiday for a couple of weeks - DH has said he'd look after our boys (3 & 1) and take the time off work as we can't afford to all go. Something is holding me back, not sure what.

My question is - has anyone been back for a holiday and wish they hadn't bothered or loved it and didn't want to come back to oz?:confused:

I am back here for my hubbys work, but while I lived in Sydney (9 years) I came back here 2-3 times wished I hadn't I felt like every holiday was where I grew up, it wasn't a holiday. I ALWAYS wanted to go back home (Sydney) I have been back here 6 weeks now I miss Sydney very much :(

Before I had my boy, I went back for a visit and didn't want to come back. The night before the flight back here, I was sobbing as I was packing and begging my husband to let me just stay there.

He looked so terribly miserable and told me to come back just to finish off uni (I had 2 more years left to go of my bachelors degree) and that we could both move there after that. I finished uni, started my masters, still determined to go back once that was finished ... which was when he knocked me up :laughing:

Now he's talking about getting a mortgage after we both finish our degrees. Absolutely! We'll get a mortgage! ... in London! :D

I have been back a couple of times, the first was after my holiday out here in 03 when i met my now DH so i obviously wanted to come back.

We both went back in 05 for a hol and he came back before me but i didnt want to come back but i did as it was easier for us to be together here at that time. We did however agree that we would move to England in the next couple of years (that was in 04).

We are going back in June for another hol and then we are looking into moving over there for good.

I cant wait!
