I don't know if such a thing exists, but does anyone know of swimming lessons that have a creche (so that one child can be minded while the other has swimming lessons) in the Ipswich or Brisbane area?

Any help would be much appreciated.

We go to AJ's in Algester and they have a childcare bit there. Not sure whether its only open certain hours of the day but when i'm there I see mums going to the gym with babies so they must leave them in the childcare bit.

I go to the Peter Mc Mahons Swim Factory which is right behind Auto barn in Martin st Woodend.
I have a 8mth old that goes every week, Now the thing is with different age group a parent is not always needed in the pool we are in the B1 class and it aged from 5mth to whenever the teacher suggest that they move up i think this would be around 18mths and then a parent is not needed in the pool with them. They dont have a Creche but there are some parents there that while they take little bub in the pool their older toddler can sit on the seats that are right at pools edge so you can see them.
It is the most reasonable priced swimming lesson that i have found with lessons for the B1 group are $12.50 a lesson paid in monthly blocks. The lessons are great and the teaches are great too they give the kids a sheet that they get given stickers after each lesson to put on them and i think once the card is full they get a lolly from the shop. The pools are also heated for babies comfort and goes all year round as its indoor (no sunburn).

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys.

I think I might try the Forest Lake Fitness Center. I can't imagine either of my kids sitting still while the other has swimming lessons and Mr 3 has never had any so I think I would need to be in the water with him.

They have a creche there as it's part of a gym. I would go on Saturdays but my DH is away so much that it is a little difficult - that's why I've put of swimming lessons for so long so far.

Another option is Jan's Story Time at Stones Corner - the Langland's Pool - they dont' have a creche but they also don't require mum's to get in the pool - the teachers take them from 18 months and Mum gets to sit on the side and chat or read a mag or go for a swim herself. My girls LOVE it! (And I don't mind a half hour of relaxing!)

Draught what do they charge if you don't mind me asking? Stones Corner is fairly close to home and that sounds like what I'm looking for....I hate the water so if I don't have to get in it all the better

$11 a lesson with a discounted rate if they do two lessons a week. They are a different style of teaching - the kids go in wearing floaties and backpacks and then as they improve they lose the aids so one group will have kids of different ages and different stages all mixed in together but none of them care. They use a different story theme with activities each week to teach - with appropriate props etc. The teachers are lovely, and as the kids develop and improve they can go on to squad swimming etc. Their phone number is always hard to find so here 'tis if you are interested - 33977725.
