Well i went out with a male friend of mine last night for dinner in Darling Harbour. I have known him since last year, met while my ex DH and i seperated the first time last year.
He surprised me and booked a room in the novotel over looking Darling Harbour...
We ordered room service for dinner, then went for a nice stroll around the harbour and talked for ages...
Went back to our room, watched a movie, cuddled and fell asleep :) no, nothing happened (which im very happy about)
It was such a romantic night... no one has EVER treated me the way he did last night.
He opened doors for me and was such a perfect gentleman...
Also he didnt try to kiss me or anything till we said goodbye this morning which i thought was such a nice change! :D
He is leaving for the UK on Monday though for a 6 month training course he's doing... its a course with a place in the UK who train there SAS(??) people....so when he gets back he's hoping to get into the police force etc...
He's so lovely... i never saw him as more than a friend until last night... as much as i will miss him when he goes, it will be good to be on my own for a while longer and when he gets back we can continue things from there...
I couldnt believe how nice he was to me....
I truly felt special last night:o *sighs*

Wow... you are a lucky girl.... guys like that are so rare these days... its good to know princes do still exist!
That is fantastic that he made you feel so special.... I have been waiting for that day to come and it just never has... in any of my relationships....
Good on you for deciding what is right for you and sticking to it!! I had one of those moments last weekend and it was great....
The 6 mths apart will give you both some good perspective on things and what it is you both want....

What im really surprised about is looks wise, he is nowhere near ugly, but not the type i normally go for... and in the first time in my life... i dont care!
I have learnt (after my ex DH) that looks aren't everything and they will not bring you happiness, it really is the person who they are deep down that will always count...
Im still attracted to him, but a year or more ago i probably wouldn't have gone on a date as i was to judgemental that way... so i've grown so much in that way and i am so happy i have :D

Good for you.... I realised this with my last relationship too.... While all my friends where asking me if I was for real... I was discovering there is so much more to relationships than what someone looks like..... :smiliedance:

Yeah ive decided im not going to care what anyone else thinks anymore about potential partners, it really doesnt concern them....
I'd rather be happy and in love with someone whos not model material than miserable and not in love with someone whos great looking...:yes:

Awww Nat. That's really, really AWESOME and I'm so happy for you! Things like this really make me think that maybe there is such a thing as 'love' out there?
Sounds like a double-edged sword too. You had a wonderful night, but he's leaving for six months... :hugs:
And yeah Nat, there's so much more to a person than what they look like. Everyone's looks deteriorate when they're old and grey and as long as you find him attractive then that's all that matters. Anyway, once your friends get to know him, see how he treats you, they'll all probably wish they were getting treated like that!

One thing i absolutely adore about him is that he was so giving and thoughtful... like if i offered to pay for anything, he flat out refused, he opened doors for me, he always asked what i wanted to do and if i said to him what he wanted he replied "im taking you out, its your night so you decide"... he's such a sweetie. He also made me a coffee in the morning and we had a nice coffee together when we got up... was so nice!!!
I have never had a male be so polite and sweet to me... my ex DH would never have done half of what he did for me....not even when we first started dating...
Im just in awe of how incredible he is...
He's everything i have wanted in someone and im glad that we have been friends for a long time before any of this happened... it makes things so much more special i think:yes:

Oh I went all mushy reading your OP! What a fantastic night... I know exactly what you mean regarding appearances and that it doesn't matter as much as it did to us when we were younger :rolleyes: It's not what makes a happy relationship once the honeymoon's over, that's for sure.
What a sweetie he sounds like. I can't wait to hear about what happens in 6 months! :)

Well its now been a month since i posted this thread originally....
We are keeping in regular contact on msn and phone...
He's so unbelievably lovely!!:D
He keeps saying to me how he can't wait to get back and and get to know me better and get to know peter... He said he wants to be a big part of our lives...:eek: :o
I have made it clear that i am not in any rush and want things to go slow and he's absolutely fine with that. He actually said to me he can't wait to become best friends and then hopefully more afterwards.
He's so amazing, i cant believe how wonderful he is... i didn't think men like this existed anymore.
Just thought i'd give a little update!
