Leo had his first lot of vaccinations today. Was just wondering - has anyone else experienced this...

Leo has bascially slept all day since he had his needles at 9.30 this morning! Apart from a huge screaming fit at 2.30 when he woke up - maybe he was in a bit of pain and hungry - he hasn't eaten a whole lot but is now in his cot very sleepy still.

Am wondering if he will now wake up tonight and be awake all night!!!

Hi

From what I remember, my son has always been sleepy after his vaccinations too. I think its the easiest way for them to deal with it! I think I would prefer to sleep it off too!

Just keep an eye out for any fevers or other nasties, otherwise sounds like all is well!

It's been awhile since my dd had her 2 month vaccines. Shots always make her tired and cranky. Thank goodness we're done until she's five. ((hugs)) Poor baby. :(

My son just had his vaccinations on Monday. He too was a bit grumpy on Tuesday & Wednesday. However, he didn't sleep very well at all, but was very fussy on feeding. But he made up for it yesterday.

DTP vaccines make them a bit drowsy and that lasts about the first 24-36 hours. My DD had her 2 month vaccination 2 weeks ago and she slept a lot the first night and the next day. I was quite surprised as well because she usually catnaps during the day but she managed to sleep 3 hours the day after the shot :D

They wont be very interested to eat because they just want to sleep, but try to give your bub a lot of fluid to drink so he won't be dehydrate.
