Hi,
I am brand new to cloth nappies and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on good covers to use with flat terry nappies?
I have got a stack of terry flats, and a few fitteds (BBH + covers) but wanted to see how the flats go before committing to more fitteds.
Thanks!
the BBH covers will work, as will most small pul wraps.
but, look at getting a pack of snibs/T-wraps. Shaped like a T, you tie it on over the nappy to secure it. Works a treat! Great value, reusable, all that jazz! They are great.
Motherease Airflows are nice and low cut to easily cover a flat terry fold or a Bummi's Super Whisper Wrap. Both are PUL so are great quality and will last ages and is easy to care for.
Can you knit? I highly recommend wool covers esp as baby gets bigger.
Motherease Airflows all the way. They fit so well over terries, and last for ages. I also used the Bummis Super Whispers and didn't mind them. Both are great value and wear really well.

When i was first starting out i went to the Op shops and got some fluffie cover (20c) and also the velcro/ wrap ones they sell in target/ woolworths.
Then wen i got into the whole cloth nappy thing i bought or made my own fitted nappies.
But i found if it did not work out for me i did not waste any money on covers by buying Op shop ones..

I've just found some great ones at Big W:thumbsup: They are cotton/PVC and come in a pack of three for $3something. You can't feel any plastickyness at all, they just seem like thinner terry training pants. But they work so well with flats!! They fit well over the top and around the legs and feel dry to touch no matter how wet the nappy is inside!! I've only just found these and I recommend anyone to try them, and for that price, you don't have much to lose.;)

one problem with these would be that pvc isn't breathable, and a lot of the research leads me to believe that it's probably not the sort of thing I really want on my bub's bum
I can understand people not wanting to outlay huge amounts on covers when they're not sure if the whole cloth thing is for them or not, but many people do get put off cloth by covers that are 'less than optimal' so in many ways, to give it a real go, I do feel that it's important to try at least one 'good' cover.

Agreed. PUL all the way.

Thanks for your advice! I have got a couple of PUL BBHs & a woollen BBH, but will probably try a snibb and fleece cover too (do the Tot Bots fit well over terries?) & ask my mum-in-law to knit me a woollen soaker...
Has anyone used the one-size PUL Wonder Wraps?
