I was just wandering how many of you girls have got morning sickness? And how far were you when you got it? When I was pregnant with DS I had it from 6 weeks quite bad and it lasted for months but when I was pregnant last year (the baby we m/c) I didnt have any. I just found out I am pregnant yesterday, I think I am about 6 weeks but not sure. My FS is going to do a u/s in a couple weeks (was sposed to be Monday but they put it off - Ugh!). So I aint gonna know exactly how far along I am until then. But anyway I woke up this morning with morning sickness. It got better during morning but now it is bad again. I feel AWFUL. I always thought m/s starts from about 5 - 6 weeks which would mean that my estimation of how far along I am is correct. Just wanted to know everybody elses experiences with this...

Hi Pebbles and Congratulations!

I haven't really had m/s yet and I'm 7 weeks 1 day. For the last couple of weeks a slight quesiness has come and gone but nothing serious. Today I was at work and all of a sudden felt a little sick (like car sickness) but then nibbled on a morning tea and felt better. Nothing serious.

I really feel for you right now. I had morning sickness for months with all three of my boys.

It is such a horrible feeling during what is otherwise a happy and exciting time.

Good luck and hope you overcome it sooner rather than later.

Congratulations pebbles. I am really happy for you.
I am in my 6th week and I have not really had m/s. I get a little bit queasy and I have been light headed but nothing bad at all. Some people are lucky I guess! Or maybe I should not speak too soon!!!

Congrats again!!!

Thanks girls

What gets me is that I only found out that I am pregnant yesterday and in less than a day I am sick! Mind you I have been queezy for a couple weeks now, I just thought I was coming down with the flu. I remember what it is like to have m/s, I had it so bad with my DS. It was horrible, they had to put me on medication and I almost had to be put in hospital. I hope it doesnt get that bad with this pregnancy. I feel happy though, at least this pregnancy is so far just like it was with DS. So I know what to expect!

Well its full blown morning sickness now. I spent the past 3 and half hours getting re-acquainted with my toilet! The memories of :barf: when I was pregnant with DS came flooding back to me. It is quite exhausting. I am trying to eat a dry peice of toast and a glass of milo in milk right now. Eating has become difficult. Does anyone else find that even the thought of food makes ya feel yucky? When I was pregnant with Peanut I was HUNGRY all the time and wanted to eat EVERYTHING. But this time as soon as DH says dinner I start dry reaching! Its very strange!

Hi Pebbles

I know what you mean about the thought of food making you feel ill. I only have to look in the pantry or even think about food and I feel queasy. I am not :barf:but the feeling is not pleasant. But, having said that, I know it is a good sign so I'm not complaining!

Claire - Yep that is pretty much how I feel, has to be a good sign! I didnt have it as bad today, I only :barf: once and it was only a little. I dry reached alot this morning but then nothing. I was a little disappointed at first coz I thought "why is it getting better? Is that a bad sign?" but then I made myself snap out of it and think positive again. I still feel pretty yuk when I smell some foods and when I think about eating. At the moment all I can really think about eating is fresh fruit and raw vegies. And all I have had to drink since I found out I am pregnant is water and milo in cold milk. Thats all I can stomach!

Well since Sat my MS has increased 100%! :barf:
Still have not thrown up yet although sometimes I wish i would as i reckon it would make me feel better!

My stomach feels really upset, my whole abdomen actually. It is 8:15am and im sitting here at work wishing i was home laying down curled up on my side.... :gloomy:

My family are all telling me MS is a good sign so Im sticking to that theory to get me through it.... :D

I'm thankful to be feeling better today. I had SUCH a bad day yesterday. It was the first time my m/s actually made me throw up. (this time around) I spent the whole day in bed, I had a migraine on top of it, too. Urgh!

Like you, I was telling myself how wonderful it was that I was so sick. I wasn't very convinced! :)

Well this morning I have woken up and I am sick, sick, SICK! It is first day back at work since I started getting m/s, so that makes me feel a tad worse. There is just something about not being close to ya own toilet that makes ya feel uneasy in these situations! Luckily I have been at my work for 11 and a half years and I had m/s with my son here as well so its not really that new to me. And the other lucky thing is my office is the closest office to the toilet! I told my boss and my workmates that I am pregnant in case I need to nip off for scans or BT's or anything and also incase I am rushing off to the toilet every 5 seconds! I havent eaten much at all this morning, I am feeling too queezy but I know i need to eat something soon. I am happy that I still got the m/s though and this morning I :barf: as well!

Gizmo - I am sure it is just having a break. I have had days where I am feeling sick but no :barf: and then days like today when I :barf: for almost the whole day! Man did I feel sick today! And soooo exhausted. And does anyone else have a dry mouth? I have such a dry mouth and no matter how much water I drink it never seems to be enough!

Well I hate to be the square ball in the round hole but I am 9weeks and m/s free.

I am in no way rubbing it in ladies, quite the contrary. I wake up every morning thinking...I cant be this lucky, today will be the day. It could be hereditory does anyone know as my mum was m/s free with both me & my brother.

Anyway, I'm not all lucky, am still experiencing the oh my god i'm gonna :barf: when I smell different foods and even when I see food on tv!! I was watching a cooking show the other day and had to change channels.

Has anyone experienced a complete backflip on favourite foods - I love eggs benedict but the thought of it now....YUK!

Enough :ecomcity: from me!

Ive done a bit of a backflip with salad... i would have a nice salad for lunch and may have even had one on the side with dinner but now I cant bear to think of eating the stuff! I seem to want hot food for meals so have had to revert to left over (frozen) home made vego lasagna or lean-cuisine type meals for lunches at work... Looking at a salad now is wiered, its like i dont even think of it as food... and i used to absolutely love it....

Well my m/s is just getting worse and worse. Today I even took a day off work although I also have the flu and a throat infection which is so not helping matters! I got scared that coughing might harm the baby so I rang my doc. Luckily my doc is one of the sweetest men in the world and he made me feel better in no time. Explaining that many women worry about this if they get a cough in Preg, especially early preg but it is nothing to worry about. Phew. As for the m/s if I keep nibbling on food I feel better, if I eat too much in one go I feel worse, if I dont eat for more than an hour and a half I :barf: I am slowly learning how to deal with it.
I had a good tip from my cousin though for any of you that are interested. She said orange flavoured tic tac's really helped. I tried it and believe it or not it works! It isnt a cure but it does make me feel a bit better, enough that I aint gonna :barf: . I have bought some to take with me in my handbag for those times that I feel like :barf: in public!

I just posted this advice in the morning sickness section of BubHub and then thought I would pop it in here too. Yesterday while I was feeling considerably sick I had a quick sip of DH's coke that he had just opened. I dont know why but it worked! I felt so much better, it basically made me feel ok enough to cook something to eat. I was happy coz sometimes I am feeling so sick that I cant even get up to cook or make something for myself to eat. It was nice to find something to make me feel well enough to prepare something to eat.
Since then I have tried it again but flat coke (even a little bit flat) doesnt help. Its only freshly opened coke that helps.
Anyway dont know if it will help anyone else but thought cant hurt to mention it!

its the sugar Tammy, sometimes if our sugar levels drop we start feeling nausious(sp) I was feeling yucky before so I had a coke, seams to do the trick for a while  ,

anyways thats why they you should have some plain bickies and a cup of tea before you get up in the morning, helps boost your sugar levels up before you get up in the morning

A friend of mine suggested bundaberg ginger beer as helping m/s, haven't tried it though. My vitamin b6 tablets do help, but not consistently and I can't live on salt n vingear crisps or I'll be huge.

:hugs: to all of you lovely ladies suffering m/s, I'm definately with you and hoping that it passes soon, as I'm meant to be 10 weeks on Sat, so I'm trying to be optimistic and I only have this for another 2 weeks!!:fingerscrossed:

Hi There

I have found this thread so useful. I'm 38 and expecting my first baby. So this is my first experience of MS. My DH is 45. We're 7 weeks. We've never been lucky enough to get pregnant, so I hope everything goes ok. In our excitement we told everyone. My husband did anyway. We've been trying to get pregnant for 10 years.

This ms business seems so glamorous in the movies...I was prescribed maxalon yesterday, which I had for my gastric banding last year.

So I will probably be on here asking lots of questions. Interesting about the coke. I'll need to keep that in mind.

Talk to you all soon
Jo
Our due date is 30/4:barf:

as this thread is a old one, no-one chats in here anymore, but feel free to post a morning sickness thread in the morning sickness section or in the due april 09 section (I see you've already found the due April section)
