Hello everyone,
I am about to start TT my DD who is 19 months old.Can anyone guide me as to what is the best potty that should be bought.
Is it the normal usual potty available for kids or the ones that can be fitted to the Adult potty with stairs or step. What will u use for ur child?
Thanx in advance
Take care

For DD#1, I had a boring basic potty, and she loved it. Same potty, different DD, and it was the worst item in the world.
I ended up buying DD#2 an Evenflo unit which had a back on it, and where you could put it onto the toilet as a small toilet seat, or use it as a potty on its own. Even that she wasn't 100% happy with, but it was more successful than the one which her sister had used. She had a say in what one we bought. When she was not willing to use her sister's hand me down potty, I offered to take her to choose one she liked, and that was how we came to get the Evenflo one.
We had the most success with DD#2 with a Cushie Tushie padded small toilet seat which I bought in Target.
In my experience, the best potty is whatever your child will use - and it varies from child to child.

I agree with aardvark, it varies from child to child.......................
But I have found that the potty is definately better to start with as the steps/seat attachment for the "big" toilet was a little overwhelming and well, big really!
We got our potty from kmart for about $20.
Let your child guide you as to what they are most comfortable with - goodluck on the t.t journey! :D

Hi,
We went all out and got the Fisher Price Royal Potty - it has a little story book that comes with it and it senses something has been 'deposited' it plays a 'royal fanfare'! Here's the link to have a look at it:

Jesse really got a chuckle out of having the music play after he had 'done his business'.
Good luck,
Carly

Orlando's mum,
We paid about $70 for it - expensive I know, but this was the first child (when everything is sooooo gorgeous, even pottys!) and we were all so excited that he wanted to be toilet trained. It was worth it though - Jesse loved it!
