well it all started on tuesday 6/2/07, i had had a horrible nights sleep with b/hicks all night and felt tired when i woke up. i sat on the couch with my son and i thought i had wet myself. i went to toilet and no.. it was fluid! i smiled and thought to myself i would see my baby soon! i had mild contractions all day but didnt get too excited knowing it could last for another 24hrs like this so i took my 2yr old to kmart and got another maternity bra (freakin out in my head thinking im gonna just gush water out with every step..i was wearing a pad and could feel water comin). some freinds turned up at 3pm and we watched a movie with cont. coming every half hr. they stayed for dinner and we all laughed sayin that i was going into labour and ive got visitors over! they went home then we all went to bed, my hubby had couple hrs sleep but i got none cos they were comin every 20mins or so and they were a lil painful. i would just rock my hips and bounce on my fitball. they got to be 15 mins apart from 11pm tues night so i rung hospy then, i didnt wanna ring any earlier cos i knew theyd want me in there straight away and knowing im a vbac prob stress me out more!my waters were clear so i knew nothing was wrong and lailah was moving all day so i was happy to just labour at home they told me to get my butt in now as it was 15hrs since waters break and i need antibiotics from 18hrs so we drove the 30mins in. cont. got to be about 7 mins apart in car, all back ones so i knew she was posterior. we met our lovely doula Eleni in there at 1am wed morn. we got all set up in room, i was on the stupid monitor for about half hr. my doula and hubby were rubbing my back for while then i asked to go in the shower. my m/wife then made me feel bad and said 'i dont think u should' and i said 'babys heartrate is stable as and she's fine so i want to'. then she got *****y and said do watever u want so i did! i got in that shower and i loved it! anyway some time in between i asked for gas and that helped me heaps, made me kinda just drift away after every contr. i felt like i was watchin my body labour, didnt feel stressed at all..anyway laboured all day like that but then i got the urge to push but was only 7 cms and when they checked again 2hrs later i was the same so the dr said wanted to put in drip in cos it had been so long since waters had broken and didnt want bub to get distressed. this was a hard decision for me. cos i know that if u have the drip in with a vbac its a 1 in 40 chance of uterus rupture but i had come sooo far and i was nearly there so i decided to go ahead. they put it on the lowest setting so it wouldnt put stress on my uterus. i then asked for epidural cos i needed to rest and that urge to push was incredible to fight!! she wanted out!. i then rested for 2 hrs and in that time she turned!! I pushed her out in 26 mins, only 4 contractions! i couldnt believe she came out so easy!
Lailahs the best baby, just a little angel, very content and hardly cries!!:rolleyes:
she came at 6:11pm wed night and she weighed 6 Pound 13 or 3090kgs 50cms long, h/c 34.5 cms.
so girls, i got my vbac, it was long but very rewarding in the end and i would rather have a v/ birth over c-section any day!! u can do it, just have good support and have the confidence in ur body.:smiliedance:
