Thanks for posting this, I have never seen alert bracelets like these before (seen the ones for older people but not these). I think that I will get one of these for my DS.

Do you have to get them engraved yourself and what info exactly are you meant to put on them? My daughter in anaphalactic (sp?) to shellfish.

you have to get your doctor to do the forms. i think they engrave it for you:confused:

hmm, jess, they are not medic alert bracelets. medic alert is a brand/company. these ones are different. its like a national register.

I think that is a great idea. I have a bracelet for DD1 and must say she NEVER wears it. But will def look at these ones. They still have the red signia on them therefore MOST people may realise that they are medical attention ... def the ambo officers would.

You would engrave "anphylactic Shellfish" or something similar. If in doubt call your local hospital or go to your Chemist and ask. You can get the info engraved on ANY bracelet but if it carries that red sign on it then EVERYONE (well Most) would know it's a medical need!!!

:o yeah i realised after i posted it they werent the ofical ones :laughing: my bad.
i think you can get them added to the registery they ahve the logo on them of the regsitery(sp?) so not sure. i was just guna get one to say ds1 is asthmatic coz we arent sure of all the alergies:laughing:

Official or not, I think they are a great idea. If one of my kids had allergies or a medical condition, I'd get one.

They're great!! They would be so handy if a child coming to your DD or DS's Bday party had a badge or bracelet like that! Awesome for kindy and childcare too.
