This recipe is great for using up the last dredges of cereal in a box

1 egg
1/3 cup brown sugar
4 tb melted butter (I used light margarine)
3 tb honey or golden syrup
1/3 cup rolled oats
3 cups breakfast cereal (I used 1 cup muesli, 1 cup crushed weetbix, 1 cup cornflakes)
3/4 cup self raising flour
3/4 cup dried fruit (apricots, sultanas...)

Mix together the egg, sugar, butter, honey. Mix in the other ingredients until the flour is incporporated. Press into a slab tin thats been coated well with cooking spray and bake at 180 degrees fpr 20 - 25 minutes or until lightly browned.

I was gonna say healthy? Not with all that sugar in it. Could you use more honey instead of sugar?

lol honey is just as bad. but CK, the recipe lokks scrummy, and I would definately give it to my kids as a treat with a bit less sugar(honey, actual sugar etc) there not big sugar fans (unlike mummy:D:o)

Hey, blame the recipe writers - 3tbs honey and a 1/3 cup loose brown sugar hasn't killed anyone yet, especially over 15 bars

Actually I though it was a pretty low amount of sugar, considering a lot of recipes always have lots more.

I find it hard to even find anything with less than 1/2 cup of sugar.

Maybe you could swap the sugar and honey with apple puree.

Mmm sounds nice we always have breakfast cereal left over (sometimes I mix it with the dog food and give it to the dog I hate waisting food) could I use rice bubbles?
