I remember an article recently in the Courier Mail (or one of its little mags) about 2 female business partners who had started up a business which was a cafe where children & parents can go to relax. There were activities for the kids scheduled each day and appropriate menu.

The problem is I can't remember the name of the place. I have a feeling it was in Ashgrove but I could be wrong about it.

I need an alternate place to meet up with the Outlaws, and thought this sounded better than them coming to us.... because it will be easier to get them to leave.

Anyone who can remember anything will be most appreciated!

Haha, its called Locomotion and its on Wardell street/Stewart Ave.

Have heard mixed reports...apparantly its great if your kds are between 2 and 5. If they are younger or older than that they cant go into the playroom and the cafe is on a main road with no fence  ...I suppose they will change that quick smart:)

Oh and apparantly the kids room is great and there are childcarers in there! Also the kids get a plate of like an antipasto thing which I think is great! Much better than the normal chicken nuggets or fairy bread

Its a great concept, sounds like it might just need some fine tuning:)

I don't think its the place you are thinking of, but I've taken DD1 to Maze Mania. There's one on Sandgate Rd at Virginia and another (nicer) one on South Pine Rd (I think) Everton Park. Its great for all kids (the one at Virginia had an under 5 area - not sure about Everton P) and there's a jumping castle / climbing frame type things (like the playworld @ Westfield Chermside - but 10 times bigger) for bigger kids. You can get a half decent cappucino and a slice of cake or sim (but the menu is a bit ordinary).

Cheers

I think the one in Everton Park is closed - we tried to go there a few months ago and it was all packed up with a handwritten closed sign - there were three very disappointed kiddies.

We have taken ours to Lollipops at Camp Hill - but not the sort of place to meet family - it is VERY noisy! Both my DD's love it though - good for a rainy day or a really hot day, but it does get very busy.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't been there, but I saw the article in the local rag too, and when I read it I put a mental picture with a new cafe that has just opened across the road from coles in Ashgrove??? I could be wrong, if it's not too far you could check it out... Let us kow what's it's like if you visit...

Cheers,

Leanne
