Seekrit - Congrats to you and cobey on the cruising! How cute! I am really looking forward the that stage. I have been round covering up hard edges on the coffee table and houseproofing etc .. I Guess I will be eating my words when I am running round the house after dd wishing that she would just sit/lay where I left her again..
To be honest, I don't see what the big woohah is about.. I watch cobes and know where he is, what's on the floor and what he has in his hands :)

Seek - hope Cobes sleeps soundly tonight. Cool a 5th tooth! Can you get a photo so you see the teeth? Hard I know, but I'd love to see his chompers
*sigh* Cobes woke last night at midnight - SCREAMING. He kicked, he scratched, he screamed and he writhed all over the bed until Chris held him still so I could give him panadol :(

I think the tooth is cut, finally, but it's hard to get my finger in his mouth to check :fingerscrossed:

And yes, I do have photos (since you asked, I took!)

Is anyone else terrified of giving finger food in a few months? I am so not looking forward to that stage as I am so scared of the choking thing.
Very paranoid myself, so I've started giving him bigger things already :/
most breakfasts he has half a piece of toast, cut into fingers (I figure if they're longer, and he chokes, I can at least get a hold on them to yank out) and stuff like banana, steamed broccoli and zucchini.

All MCN using mummas...

which are the best value for money mcn's???

And how many would I need to get started???

Ta!!!

lots of WAHMs have layby options, and packs.. I have no idea which is the best value, I just go with ones that look good lol

8 is a good number to get started.. i think.

 I agree...but dh doesn't! (He's a FT couch potato)

Really??? Someone told me 25 if I want to wash every 2 days! I did the math...avg $25 each x 25 nappies = $625 just for the nappies!!! I like the sound of 8 nappies MUCH better!

25 for a newbie, maybe.

But with Cobes I change him every 3 hours until about 6.. then he's asleep for the night (in a sposie) 8 is really an 'every day' number or a 'every day and a half'.

Let us know what you get!

*sigh* Cobes woke last night at midnight - SCREAMING.

Bugger about waking, hopefully just a phase? I think someone else mentioned this waking screaming thing too - it really does sound like they are having a nightmare sometimes. Wonder what a babies nightmare entails - empty boobs?

Ta for the pics, they are unreal! What a gorgeous little man and those blue eyes, he'll be someones mcdreamy one day! His teeth are so big already. Nixie started with a bang and her bottom teeth and well and truly up, but she's just stopped at those two. Considering gav has found teeth marks on the cot and I've got to watch her like a hawk at mothers group (so she doesn't try to eat any other babies...), it's probably a blessing she's stalled! Does cobes chew his cot rail?

Hey everyone else  . It's a lot quieter this weekend, less reading to keep up!

Seek - I forgot to ask, do you use cloth when you're out? Why do you use sposies at night - have you found the cloth ones leak?

linas the same. only her bottom 2 are all the way up, teething majorly and gums are very swollen, but nope no more yet.

Agreed.... I would say start with eight.... and a set of flats for back up.... most trial packs have two nappies so you can get a few different types to see what it is you like before you buy up big!

Wonder what a babies nightmare entails - empty boobs?

I wonder this too.... maybe giant evil boobies chasing them... lol...

Same here too....

Seek - Cobes looks like he lurves his wuppy dog.... Pip met her first kitty kat today and loved it.... I wish I could get her one but not sure what the rules are with my rental....

i'll just come check in and say hi,

there is not really much happening with my Mr P, he likes his food (a lot) we do toast and crackers, he likes lumpier mash to a point then gets cranky and demands mush again.

un no crawling yet, no teeth.

I just started using MCNs on him, I have 7, thats lasts me a whole day. I still use sposies at night and for going out, a cos I'm chicken and b cos i haven't bought any good enough yet:o I've got another 3 that I'm waiting on, including a night set, and I'll stop at that for the moment cos it's sending me broke.

Love all the piccies, I should post some but I realised they all look much the same.

anyhoo

cheerio peeps

Seek - I forgot to ask, do you use cloth when you're out? Why do you use sposies at night - have you found the cloth ones leak?

because I've been working I've been far too lazy to put him in cloth with the knowledge I'll just have to wash it. If I had more AIOs I'd do it.

Otherwise when I"m feeling laundryish I have him in cloth all the time. Night time I put him in sposies because I know they work and I can't be bothered cleaning sheets as well as nappies as well as clothes.

Hey md - hope you got everything backed up!

Bummed out! Was lying in bed and came up with this brilliant business idea (well i thought it was). Checked on the net to see if there is anything like it out there and there is! :banghead: There is only one type though. And it is only just brand new to the market (this year) and was the exact idea of what i wanted to put out.

I am wide awake now and sulky. really thought that it could take off as well - well looks like this one has! :gloomy:

oh well too slow.

Hello,

Myztik, yes i'd love to catch up with the perth ladies again soon, any day monday to friday i am free but it depends on times as lucas is following a routine now, its flexible though, let me know when you are planning to catch up again.

I need to ask a question about solids... from when can you generally give them as much as they like??? For example, lucas has been on 3 meals a day for about a month now, each meal is about 3 table spoons in size but in the past week this hasnt been enough so i have given him more, sometimes even 7-8 table spoons!!! I have heard at some point you feed until they have had enough... would this be now? he knows when he is full and does lose interest. I just dont want to over feed him obviously.

I am feeling better, i am taking an organic super food thingo and i feel at least 50 % better, lucas is still waking every 2 hours over night but what little sleep i get i actually feel rested now so i think it was a case of being run down.

Its been a busy few weeks, lucas's is now crawling and ive realised my house is a potential death trap! His top two teeth came through on the weekend and we taught him how to wave good bye!

anyway hopefully someone has advice on the solids :)

The tarot reading was awesome.... she is very well regarded and now I know why.... she picked my personality, my life and the ex (Piper's dad) down to an absolute tee....though when I left I realised there were so many questions I wanted to ask that I forgot!! .... I have hired her for my mum's hens party.....Think I'll invest in a set of my own tarot cards too..... She picked that I have my own creepy lil intuitive powers that not many people know about too!!

Here's something for you - I had someone say to me - "What a cute widow's peak" (talking about K) - means she's very intuitive. She got the widow's peak from me (could be why I love Tarot, astrology, numerology and working with people:detective: )

Tan - lets just pick a date and get it started!

I'm only on for a quickie again tonight - it's late again! (But I did get my report finished and off today:yelclap:

Hubby's going away tomorrow until Friday so more computer time for me over the next few nights (won't have to feel like I have to socialise:p (and go to bed earlier) LOL)

May even get some time to do personals and post piccies.

Oh, and on the solids stuff, it's funny I don't think I made too many conscious decisions about A and solids - it was more a very gradual thing and it looks like I'm going the same way with K. Some people probably think I'm going too gradual, but hey, she's got the rest of her life to eat solids and majority of her nutrition will still come from her milk (if I can continue the breast milk at least as long as I did with A) for about another 6months.

So glad you are feeling better. As for the solid thing, i don't know, Nix is still only having about 5 tea spoons of solids 3 times a day, he is so not interested in solids. So we are going very very slowly.

Nix is back to normal :smiliedance: He had a great day yesterday and only woke up at 4am for a fed last night, so i am feeling half normal today. But i think our mattress is stuffed, Sean has been saying the last few mornings he has been waking up really sore so we swapped sides last night and my back is really sore this morning and he said he had a great nights sleep  . I said to him, that we are buying a king size mattress next, we need the room for both of the kids in there aswell.

Oh i forgot, how do i get Nix to take a bottle.
I bought a soy based formula and i want to get him used to a bottle, but he won't even let up put the teat/spout in his mouth. I have tried a cup and a bottle, and he won't have a bar of it.
We have a wedding to go to next friday and i was hoping to be able to leave him with mum for a few hours, but it doesn't look like we will be able too.

Seekrit
20-02-2007, 07:12
Mell - leave him with your mum. There are one of 3 things that'll happen.

1. He'll take the bottle because he can't smell you (cobes, a champ on the bottle, still won't take it from me)

2. He won't take the bottle and will be upset until you come home to feed him (and if it's only for a few hours it should be fine if you feed him before you leave.. maybe offer water from a cup?)

3. He'll have so much fun at grandma's and he won't smell you for comfort that he won't get hungry so he won't take it (cobey goes 4 or 5 hours when away from me)

Also try wide neck teats - or straight to a sippy cup.. Cobey uses the pigeon Mag Mag soft spout sippy cup teats - which you can buy to fit the top of pigeon bottles.

Thanks Seek, i have a hairdressers appointment on saturday, i might leave him with mum and see what happens.
I made up his breakfast with the formula this morning, (i normally just use water) and there was a little bit left over so i just put it into a cup and tiped it up to his mouth and he drank it  i wonder if it was just cause it was a new thing, i will try again tonight and see what happens.

I need to ask a question about solids...

I'm also free anyday of the week but also depends on times coz I need to be back near my place to pick Zac up at 3.. also cant be too soon after 9am coz I'll need time to get from the school to whever we're meeting..

Pegs - what date suits you best? seeing as you work n stuff :p Hopefully Bessie can make it too..

As for solids, I let kai tell me when he's had enough. He clams up when he's full and will not let me put anymore in so I know he's not over eating.

Glad your feeling better too Tan.

Oh i forgot, how do i get Nix to take a bottle.

just keep trying a little each day hun. Kai didnt want a bar of the bottle at first either but I just kept trying and now he loves it.. Great that Nix drank it from the cup, least he'll get a taste for it. Good luck hun, hope you get to go to the wedding :)

Jess - hope the puter probs get sorted.. I know how much it sucks lol.. We miss you too.

Nikki - cute pics! Kai's got one bottom one all the way out and the other ones half way out.. he wont let me look at his top gums but they feel bulgey (is that a word lol)

hmmmm had a reasonably ok sleep last night.. My mum suggested giving him a top up of weetbix just before bed to see if that keeps him full abit longer and it seemed to help a little. instead of waking hourly from 3 onwards he had a bottle at 3 and went back to sleep til 7:30.. which meant I slept til 7:30 and then had to run around like a lunatic to get Zac to school on time lol..
Gave out the invites for Zac's 5th birthday this morning.. think I'm more excited than he is  it's his first real party with friends etc since he turned 1..

DF stopped at the shops after work and 'found' my birthday pressie so came home all excited.. my birthdays not til April but never mind  After about an hour of giving me hints he goes 'aww can I just tell you?' lol.. I'd rather know than him drive me nuts wanting to tell me for the next month and a half.. I'm finally gunna get my laptop *cheers* .. hope he realises I still want my pc fixed coz it's got all my photo's, music, 4yrs worth of graphic design work etc...

anywho Kai's grizzly..

{{hugs}} to all

Had swimming lessons today and he did much better! He can now float on his back - as long as i do tinkle tinkle.

he also had his first Vegemite sandwich today and he LOVED it! tried to stuff the whole thing in there! god love him.

my mum found some stuff that my sis wrote about her not sure about her sexuality. She doesn't know whether or not to approach her. i might get her to stay over on the weekend, get her drunk and see if she says anything to me!

Solids: i think Connor has hollow legs. He has never been the one to stop eating, I'm always the one to stop him. he eats as much wheatbix as me! i don't think he is overeating. He isn't overweight so i just give him what he wants.

Here are some photos i have finally uploaded:

hello all. im sooo tired. lina had fever last night and this morning. im thinking this is because of her teeth, and certainly hoping it is, and not another bug.
thats all i need. :gloomy:

having some probs with the pute -
jess hope you get your puter fixed soon. miss you too!

Nix is back to normal :smiliedance:
Yay for nix! glad all is well with him mell.

shea, love the pics of connor.

not much else to report atm, cept im buggared, and ive got a meeting at school tonight.

Shae, the pictures of Connor are beautiful, he is a little spunk

HIGA, god i hope it is just Lina's teeth, the poor thing doesn't need another bug, either do you. Hope she is better tonight.

Nel, :yelclap: on the laptop. I couldn't live without mine. The big computer is down stairs and with 2 kids, i couldn't get down there, so now the laptop is mine and the computer is DH.

I went to the dentist this afternoon, i had to get a filling. It is all fixed up now.

Not much else to report, i am going to try Nix with the bottle/cup thing tonight, so we will see how he goes.

20-02-2007, 17:58
Gorgeous pics Shea :) Connors so cute!

HIGA hope Lina's feeling better and it's only her teeth {{hugs}} to you both.

Mell good luck with the bottle :)

only thing I'm wondering bout with the laptop is how fast it takes DF to install his music programmes and how often he decides he 'needs' to use it.. not much in this house feels like 'mine' anymore..

hi my gorgoues girls, hope all are well!!

Maria - love the piccies - they're gorgeous!! hope Lina's good again soon & that it's just her teethies :hugs:

Kaz - WOOHOO!!! you go girl!! hope it helps with how you're feeling!! Just ask your real estate if you can have a cat or dog. if you're honest then they're pretty good

Seek - that's great bout Cobes moving along like a litle hottie!!! love the piccies too!!

LP - i gave Angel a piece of bread with vegemite, she gagged but brought it back up & kept eating it (and gaggin!!) she loved it though & the same with an arrowroot biccy i gave her the other day

MD - hope you get your puter fixed soon - WE MISS YOU TOO!!!

Tanya - i'm lazy & Angel has tin food. she has heinz brand & has 3 tins with a 180ml bottle (3 times a day - 6am, 11am, 4pm) then a 250ml bottle at night bout 7.30-8pm (whenever she gets whingy), but she goes 5 hrs between the first 3 feeds. she's 8mths so i think it depends on what your bubby's like - Angel started solids at 3mths.

Shea - beauthful pics, Connor's so gorgeous!!!

Mell - i'm glad Nix is better :hugs: hope it continues going smoothly. i can't help with the bottle thing cause Angel took hers from the start!!

i forget who asked but Angel goes under water & doesn't care. on Monday night she woke at 1.30am screaming, wouldn't go down in her cot so had to come in with us - i didn't sleep cause she kicked me the whole time!!! last night she wouldn't go to bed till 10.30pm (usually in bed by 8/8.30pm), her teethies are really bothering her the poor thing!!

my car broke again - it's going to cost $1200. that's our entire savings gone so if anything else happens , we can't fix it. i feel like ****, no matter how much good you try to do it never gets returned. sorry but not in a good mood & think it's gonna last a while.

lots of love & hugs to everyone, xxoo

Evening all  .

I think I have had an epiphany! Nixie has slept through 4 nights now and I think part of my problem was I'd been still doing everything like she was younger, not letting her change. She is completely off her old book routines, has a big nap in the morning, instead of lunch, sleep from about 9:30 to 11:30am, then has a 45min/1hr minute nap in the arvo and that's it. If she's really tired I'll try another 45 minute nap. The old way she was going to bed at the early tired signs and getting a second wind standing up in the cot again and again. Now she's pretty tired and usually goes to sleep straight away or after only one round of standing.

Although I've probably jinxed the epiphany by talking about it... but :fingerscrossed: !

BBL for personals, gav has cooked us dinner :smiliedance: .

Quick VENT:

DH was looking after B today and changed her nappy about 6.30am after her b'fast. He obviously didn't change it again cos when I got home she was CRANKY AS!! I checked her bum ½ hour later and her nappy was so full, it was almost falling apart on the inside!!!

She had also done a small 'squirt' poop, which had been there so long it had squished up to her belly button and up her back and DRIED there!!!

She now has really ouchie nappy rash with teeny tiny lil blisters!!! Poor little bub was sreaming in agony as I tried to clean her up! I've never heard her cry like that before! I had a knot of anger in my stomach! I coulda killed him!!!

...needless to say, I rung him to have a go at him , but he didn't answer (prob just as well) and by the time he rung back I'd cooled down somewhat, but I still let him have it!!! :banghead:

Renee that is just AWFUL! Poor Lil B:crying: (and Poor miss L too MM) nappyrash is terrible.

My DH can be just as clueless with nappies, specially if he is tired, he forgets. We made a rule that kids get changed after each meal, so he doesn't have an excuse. (and canestan cream works really well for rashes, the sticky creams stop the skin from breathing and can make the rash worse)

:hugs: Kel, you poor thing, getting kicked in the guts financially sucks, and having cars break down is the pits. We have a little old Barina ATM runs on the smell of an oily rag (which saves $$$) but I am so scared it'll just cark it one day. DH's boss is trading his car in in october and DH has put dibs on it, lol. So for the first time since our wedding we have a savings goal, and  we have actually started to put away money!

Phew! OMG.. finally found you guys! Still on hols in Yeppoon, and I have only read the last page..way too much to catch up on and its probably all old news by now.. lol.

HIGA - has Lina got two teeth?? Hope she feels better soon. Is Faith the only July bub now who doesn't have any???

OH and crawling.. she still haven't given off any indication of starting that in the near future either.. she loves to stand up and sit for ages (will sit for over an hour no problem), but absolutely no interest in crawling. Pegs should I be worried?? I give her tummy time to encourage her to crawl, but she just keeps flying, IUKWIM around!

Renee - for little B and a big slap to your naughty DH!!

Nix06 - hope that the epiphany sticks!!!

Kel - so sorry to hear about your car, that really sucks. I know what you mean about just feeling like you are getting back on your feet with savings and then something else carks it.. its sooo frustrating. Kisses to little Angel too, hope her teething symptoms settle down real soon xx

Mell - good luck with little Nixy taking formula from the sipper cup for youl. It would be wonderful for you and hubby to be able to go out alone.

Oh sorry gals I really gotta go and catch some ZZZZZZZZZZ I am soooo tired. Must be the ocean?? hopefully i can make it back on sometime tomorrow. Love to all, and pls don't get me lost again......

 I do the same thing...but obviously someone else doesn't!!! (I used to forget ALL THE TIME when she was a newbie!!! Oh, and I didn't realise that bf bubs should be burped!)

I use Brauer nappy rash cream - same kinda thing it soaks in instead of being a barrier cream - I hate them. Tried bepanthem (sp?) but it felt yuk on her bum when I changed her nappy the next time, so stopped using that! And that Brauer works the best!!! Slathered B in it tonight!!! (Sad screams when I touched it though! :crying:)

Jac, hope you and Faith are having a fantastic time up there!!! I can't wait till B sits in the one spot for a while, I'm hoping it'll improve her reflux! All she wants to do is crawl (which makes it even worse than ever!) :banghead:

mich, i hope L's rash gets better, have you tried "ungvita" also if the area is hot, i normally put a cool washer on the girls. that helps ease the "burning" feeling.

have a savings goal, and  we have actually started to put away money!
thats fantastic TS. as of next week we will start putting some away also. yay

HIGA - has Lina got two teeth?? Hope she feels better soon. Is Faith the only July bub now who doesn't have any???

Jac yes lina still has just the bottom 2, they are all the way up. her top gums have been swollen for ages, but still not cutting through. she must have tough gums, lol. hope your having a great time, and the ocean makes me sleepy also.

I work Thursdays and Fridays so Mon to Wed is great for me. Having said that - swimming lessons are Tuedsays so not free till after about 11 on a Tuesday. How was the last place for you Myz, or is there another suggestion? seeing as you need the proximity to get back to Zac and stuff :p

my car broke again - it's going to cost $1200. that's our entire savings gone so if anything else happens , we can't fix it. i feel like ****, no matter how much good you try to do it never gets returned. sorry but not in a good mood & think it's gonna last a while.

 about the car Kel - hope things start looking up

Quick VENT:

Hope Lil B is doing better now. The best thing I ever found for any probs in that area is anything containing Zinc - prob is it only helps bums, not boy brains LOL

Don't get worried about the crawling just yet. Norms are just that - there are 50% who make it in the time people see as "normal", 25% who make it before that and 25% who make it after that. I panicked about A's crawling for so long. He didn't crawl till he was 10months (I got so excited when I went to my playgroup that he'd finally started, and on the same day one of the other girls (same age) had started walking!). However, he now skips, jumps and pedals a bike - not bad for a not yet 3 year old!

Keep up the tummy time, just add in some other stuff maybe (if you're not doing this stuff already), maybe prop Faith on a rolled up hand towel (chest on towel) so she can experiment with moving her hands to toys in front of her, or having her in supported sitting and placing toys to the side of her. Some bubs will learn to crawl a bit better from a sitting posture. They need tummy time to develop their back muscles, but the development of moving into the position is important to help them too.

BTW - K's not crawling yet either. She'll lie on her tummy and move around a bit, but she prefers to be on all fours - will stay for ages on her hands and knees just contemplating everything around her. I think she'll get there before A did, but for now, the best I can do is to give her the opportunities.

Maybe it's time for me to post another activity post...

Getting late tonight - will do tomorrow or Thursday.

Okay - have just been checking out the Zoints stuff - I've obviously been too lazy on this front and better get onto it. *sigh* another job for while hubby is away - how do I work out which thing to do first when I keep getting distracted with the posts to read and reply to - photos, posts, profiles, chats...

oh pegs - with the crawling thing - connor just seems to kick his legs like he is swimming and nothing else while he is on his belly. Are the swimming lessons possibly doing this?

aww poor lil B, hope it heals up soon. DF has changed one nappy since kai was born :shame:

I work Thursdays and Fridays so Mon to Wed is great for me. Having said that - swimming lessons are Tuedsays so not free till after about 11 on a Tuesday. How was the last place for you Myz, or is there another suggestion? seeing as you need the proximity to get back to Zac and stuff

the other place was alright but I got a lift there with my mum so I actually have no idea how to get there by way of public transport.. and it'll take me close to if not over an hour to get there.. Man I hate being such a pain in the *** :o Is Whitfords too far for you guys? It's not as far for me to get to so I'll get to stay for a ecent amount of time.. Also it's closer for Bessie who I'm assuming will have school pick-up aswell..

Mich - hope L's rash gets better soon too, I remember when Zac had it bad and could barely lie down without screaming, broke my heart. thankgod that was the one and only time he got it.

Kel - sorry to hear bout your car and stuff. hope things start going your way soon hun.

Jac - hope you and Faith are having fun!!

HIGA - hope Lina's doing better this morning.

Kai's now a member of the 'I'm not gunna sleep coz I can stand in my cot' club  last nigth and this morning he has been standing himself up on anything possible, he's just not quite confident enough to try taking steps.. He's yet to realise he needs to keep holding on or he lands on his bum..
Had a pretty good sleep last night.. he fell asleep around 9ish and woke for a feed just after 2 then didnt make a sound til 7 so I'm pretty darn happy with that. He's obviously weel rested coz he's going absolutely crazy in the loungeroom atm :ecomcity: yelling, laughing and carrying on lol..

anywho gotta go chase him as he's venturing out of the lounge now lol

lina still has temps, kell if she is the same tomorrow, i will cancel out friday, just in case its something else. shes been quite grizzly today, and hasnt slept much at all.

i just want today to be over, and get a good nights sleep tonight.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Dropped cobes off at daycare today, he was feeling hot so while there we took his temp - 37.8 :/ ummm gave him some panadol and they suggested I keep him there to see how he goes (since he's teething, a likely cause) and because I had an appointment before work.

Dropped in at 11am, he was fine, temp down, happy as Larry.

Come 2.30 they call me "Erm, his temp is up to 38.3" so off to the doctors (who slipped me in!) he has a small throaty virus (which I have as well) and teething... both will affect his temp.
So he's dosed on panadol and feels a bit cooler, but i'm worried as he's very grizzly now. But that could be over-tiredness since he didn't have a long afternoon nap. Otherwise he's been perfectly happy.

I don't know if I should go to work tomorrow and leave him with Chris' mum... or stay at home with him *sigh*

HIGA, hope you have a better night and Lina gets back to normal soon. :hugs: lol, good old Miss Nattie hey, checky little thing she is.

Seek, poor little Cobey. Just see how he goes tonight, if he sleeps good, then he should be right at Grandma's, if he has a bad night, i would stay home with him. When they are sick and unsettled, all they want is mummy. :hugs: I just saw your post about the hole in the gums  OMG, i would think that there is going to be a molar soon.

Thanks ladies for all your best wishes for my holiday - I am, as usual at my parents having an absolute ball! My sis also lives here and her bubba is 11mths old (althought Faith is bigger) and they are so cute together.

First of all, just gotta say - Kaz you are a stunner!!!!!!!!! what is wrong with all those guys down there!!!! Are they crazy. Your dress is also gorgeous, did you make it?????

Seek - hope little Cobes wakes up all fine and dandy in the morning xx

HIGA - Little Natty at it again!!!! Deep breath for you! Hope tomorrow brings a much better day and little Lina is 100%, poor little puppet has such a bad run lately xxxxxxxxxx

Tiny - love the pics... just the cutest!! You make wonderful looking bubbas.

Kel - glad to hear little Angel is feeling a little better. Have a great day on Friday.. so sad that I am missing it. I am sure I will meet you one day soon!!

Speaking of meetups are we still on for the 5th March Brissy ladies and MD??? I missed quite a few pages of posts since being away so just want to make sure were still locked in for that date?? Also you haven't organised any other meets between now and then have you???

Well only 3 more sleeps and I will be home!!

Love to everyone.. nite nite xx

Cheers lufflies.

*sigh*
He's such a sad cherub. His fever is gone, in fact hanging out n just a singlet and constant monitoring watched it drop to 36.6 just before he nodded off to sleep (thank goodness) but he gets upset until he gets teething gel rubbed into his gums (which is bittersweet for him as he doesn't want his teeth to be touched at all)

I'm going to wait and see how he goes throughout the night, if he has a rough night he will stay home with me tomorrow, also if he is clingy. But if he has a fine night and it okay tomorrow I'll take him to grandma's.

Star - Bee-you-tee-fool. I love the one in the "chillybin" (as we kiwis would say)

And Kaz - you're smokin' hot !!!!!! You are So looking great :D

oh pegs - with the crawling thing - connor just seems to kick his legs like he is swimming and nothing else while he is on his belly. Are the swimming lessons possibly doing this?

Anything's possible, but I'd say highly unlikely. In water their gravity sense is way out of whack, but when on their tummies they're experimenting in a totally different way. My sister's little boy did this for "like forever" (sorry that was just Clueless quote), and everyone said - he'll never crawl. He did a couple of weeks later. Try propping up on a little towel or something so his weight shifts. The important thing to move into crawling is weight shift. I'm forever changing which toys are round and suspending different things overhead. Anything that encourages upperbody up will change how bub is lying through his weight. Another thing is to place his hands just under his chest and see if he pushes himself up, this will do the same and give proprioceptive (joint sense) input.

the other place was alright but I got a lift there with my mum so I actually have no idea how to get there by way of public transport.. and it'll take me close to if not over an hour to get there.. Man I hate being such a pain in the *** Is Whitfords too far for you guys? It's not as far for me to get to so I'll get to stay for a ecent amount of time.. No worries - I'm very mobile (if I ever get out of the house - it's that last bit after saying to A - get into the car and finding he's run off to the sandpit or I need to change a nappy that takes the time). If Whitfords suits Tan, then Whitfords it will be. For that - you have to pick a venue :p

Mica - welcome:wave:

TS - love the pics - how cute is Mr P's cloth (oh, love the one with Miss E and the hat too.

Seek - hugs about the fever and dilemma with care and work - I hate this. A had a fever last week and I put mum on standby, but it's really inconvenient for her (she lives 45min from me and his daycare) and besides I want to be with him when he's sick. I hate resenting that because I only work parttime that if I have to take a day off work to look after kids then I'm making it harder to make days up etc. Everything was so much easier when I only had to care about me!!!

Kaz - love the pics from the wedding - I love a chance to dress up, your dress looks gorgeous.

Speaking of which - Finally getting round to that dinner on Sat night:smiliedance: Think I may wear the dress I bought for my dad's 60th - I'll see if I can get mum to take a piccie of both of us - haven't had a pic with just my man since goodness knows when!

Had a hectic day today as I got a call from hubby round lunch time that he was in Perth airport - decided he had to come home from Sydney (don't know why- says he missed us:eek: ). Anyway, my me time just got 2days sliced off it. Is it wrong to be disappointed about that. It is harder when he's not around (especially around dinner and bed time), but true me time is hard to come by these days and I was looking forward to sitting up late watching videos, cooking things he's not really into (Tom Yum - Yummm!), and of course - more Bubhub time...... Was even contemplating a bubble bath. Instead he was gone barely one night.

*sigh* I'm just lucky he missed us.... *sigh*

Shea - I forgot to mention - Cobe's loved to "Swim" in the air for a long time (I called it flying, he looked SO funny.. I have a great photo of him "flying" somewhere) it's a good pre-crawling cursor and shows massive upper body strength. He flew for a while and then started army crawling - but if he wanted to get somewhere really fast he'd fly again  silly bean.

I think I"m going to stay home today. (think as in, if I don't I have to be out the door in.. oh.,.. 25 minutes...) Cobey woke a few times in the night and cried in a funny way, and... really... my god I'd love a day off (I'm not 100% either with this sore throat etc). So home it is.

First of all, just gotta say - Kaz you are a stunner!!!!!!!!! what is wrong with all those guys down there!!!! Are they crazy.

I totally second that!! Your gorgeous hun :) Looks like you all had a great time!

Awwww fingers crossed Myz that you get the call up really soon. How much recovery time is required???

After the Op I'll spend one night at that hospital then get sent to a different one for 2 days rehab.. I dont mind coz the 2nd hospital has lovely food  it's where I had ds1 and I think the nurses etc there are lovely. SO yeah 3 days in hospital then I'm assuming I'll have to take it easy for a few weeks considering they're dealing with my spine.

I actually got to go see a movie ''Notes on a Scandal."

oooh was it good? I wanna see it.. Glad you had a nice trip and hope you get a decent sleep tonight hun,.

For that - you have to pick a venue :p

Anyway, my me time just got 2days sliced off it. Is it wrong to be disappointed about that

oh venues easy lol the Fun Station at Whitfords is good, specially when schools in coz it's never very crowded and there's plenty of room for prams etc, there's a bubba section so they can crawl/roll around..

I dont think its wrong to feel disappointed.. I get the same when DF does similar things. We need our 'me time'..

TS - love the pics! Mr P is soo cute and Estella is just gorgeous!

cant think what else I wanted to say.. so will come back when I remember lol..

Allo, allo,

So much to catch up on, been working and out about this week. I'm going to forget heaps, but here we go!

Mic - nice to meet you and Eve

Myz - how exciting about Zacs bday, what do you have planned? Yay and sympathies on Kai standing - what a double edged sword that is! Hope you get an op date very soon.

Shea - how did it go with your sister?

Kaz - i agree, you're gorgeous. Whenever you're ready, you won't have any lack of interest!

Seek - hope you and cobes feel better soon. How nice is it to get paid for sick days again?

TS - great pics, how is the new cloth going? I got a aust post thing about picking up a parcel, I think it's my first fluffy mail!

Rach - yay on Lach crawling and seeing a movie!

Pegs - I don't think there's anything wrong with missing your 'me' time!

Mell - how did you go with the bottle?

Kel - bugger about your car. I know you said everything seemed to by happening to you, but you're such a nice person, I'm sure karma will kick in soon :fingerscrossed:

Higa - poor little lina (and you), hope she feels better soon.

LP - read an article the other day about how bubs in NICU can get low blood sugar which can lead to convulsions. Maybe the convulsions were just a side sympton and not something for long term worry? I also read a really interesting article about a case study for baby led weaning where most food was finger food with just a little mash. With the thinking that when a baby is developmentally ready (after about 6 months) it can benefit them to feed themselves (coordination) and have control on their food intake.

Pegs - what do you reckon about the finger food stuff, does it sound like bollucks? Nixie is pretty good on toast and rusks. I thought I might try some of the tofu and lentil patties in the baby cookbook and give her a go... Tan - maybe that might interest bubs if he's so into food?

Jac and Shea - if it helps (with the worry about crawling) I didn't crawl at all! Mum was starting to get worried when i got to 9 months and hadn't crawled, but then I just got up and walked... So, in the long run maybe it doesn't mean anything. I'm NOT a good athelete or anything from walking early, and I don't think (!) I'm lacking anything from not having crawled at all.

Sorry for such a long post, just hadn't been on in ages. I did jinx my epiphany a bit. She woke at 4:30am that night with a crying 'nightmare' and was so upset she came into our bed. Then she woke 3 times last night. But I still think I'm on the right track, so we'll see what tonight brings, hopefully  !

Is Faith the only July bub now who doesn't have any???

Not the only.. L still hasn't cut any...

Hi all
Mich (thank you ) just invited me on this thread...

Hi again and your welcome! Good luck keeping up with this chatty bunch!!

dates sent out by June.. so still gotta wait awhile but I spose at least I know sorta when to expect to hear something..

:banghead: You poor darling. I really hope you get that op soon.

Come 2.30 they call me "Erm, his temp is up to 38.3" so off to the doctors (who slipped me in!) he has a small throaty virus (which I have as well) and teething... both will affect his temp.

Glad to hear master C is feeling better. Hope you both enjoyed your day.

I just uploaded some more pics

Your two are so delightful! Makes me want to have more

I actually got to go see a movie ''Notes on a Scandal.' But sleeping was attrocious and it looks like it's going to be again tonight.

Ooohh I want to see that one, was it any good?...
I really, really, really hope you get a goodnights sleep soon. Thinking of you heaps:hugs:

Did I miss something??...

Mell, how'd you (& Nix) go with the bottle?

Our lovely Kel, I really hope everything takes a good turn for you. Like so many of the gals have said you're such a wonderful person. I sure hope things will get better soon.

Good news for us, DH's bike sold!! For $200 more than the loser who pulled out was going to pay!!!

L is starting to pull herself up and the 'ma ma' never ends (I love it!!) and she's almost got the hang of proper crawling. She sits for a few seconds but really isn't interested in being stationary...should I be worried???

Nappy rash is heaps better, thank you all. I think we had some thrush. I got some anti-fungle cream and the rash is almost gone. Maria, the 'ungvita' (sp?) didn't seem to work for us this time...strange...

Oh and it's a definate.. we're moving house. Only about 15 mins away, but I still need to pack etc. The move is in less than 3 weeks!!! Argh......

But wait there was more....

....

....mmm ok, nope there wasn't....

Sorry for the long post

nighty night!!

Thanks for comments about my pics, I love my kids,
mich Saving babies tonight made me wanna have more, just hearing that newborn cry, made my heart melt. I had to stop watching before I either cried at the gym or fell off the tredmill. lol.

Glad the bike sold, mich hope there isn't another taking it's place!

Nix the cloth is good, thinking about getting a little squirt, but I'm scared that my houseguests will use it to wash their unmentionables. I love fluffy mail, makes me excited lol.

Glad cobes and lina are feeling better.

Hope your surgery comes up soon Myz:fingerscrossed: it's certainly been a long wait.

Hey ladies

Sorry if I miss something - I'm finding it a tad hard to keep up!!!

Mich - the movie was good. I've read the book but can't remember much. The only disappointing thing is that they rush the relationship at the beginning, making it slightly unbelievalbe. REally wanna see Miss Potter and Stranger Than Fiction too.

Seek - hope the Cob-star is feeling a lot better!!!

Kaz - ditto what everyone else said. By the way, you should come and stay with me, we have lots of single, young, rich farmers over here!!!

TS- Love your kids red hair!!! They are so cute.

I really should get my act together and upload some more of my photos. Really should get my act together and put batteries in my camera so I should take more photos. Really should do a lot of things.

Anyway, now I'm goin tto do one of the things on my list :fingerscrossed: and sleep.

Just thought you should know my DH thinks your a hotty too:D

L is starting to pull herself up and the 'ma ma' never ends (I love it!!) and she's almost got the hang of proper crawling. She sits for a few seconds but really isn't interested in being stationary...should I be worried???

Oh and it's a definate.. we're moving house. Only about 15 mins away, but I still need to pack etc. The move is in less than 3 weeks!!! Argh......

Ha ha.... you guys crack me up!

Pip is at the same stage as L.... just on the go all the time.... her new favourite thing is the leg of the coffee table which she holds onto for dear life in the hope that it'll pull her up....

Good luck with the move... hope it all goes smoothly.... I have moved that many times now I have it down to a fine art... lol

TS - great pics, how is the new cloth going? I got a aust post thing about picking up a parcel, I think it's my first fluffy mail!

Seems like a lot of us July mumma's are enjoying the MCN journey!!! It's tops.... addictive! Thankfully my stash is as complete as I want it right now..... just been making Pip some new covers.... but been a bit lazy lately and resorted to sposies of a night and some outings lately..... can't get motivated to be organised.... lol

Madam moo has been a bit troubled at bed times the last few nights.... this crawling bizzo is really confusing her..... she has taken to sleeping on her tum but wakes up in a state cos she has started crawling somewhere in her sleep.... I had to resort to wrapping her after going in to settle her half a dozen times in about half hour...... she's been sound asleep since......

Is it just me being a pedantic mumma or has anyone else started thinking about bubba's first birthday??? I'm thinking a picnic in the park cos I think a big party for a one yr old is a bit pointless....

hello ladies. i just got home 10 mins ago, its been such a long busy day for me. had a meeting at the bosses place tonight, then they put on dinner for us, which was lovely. getting a new recipe too :D very yum. whilst at work, i got miss lina checked out by the doctor, she has a bit of a red throat (viral infection) the dr thinks it should be cleared by tomorrow evening at the latest, as its not that raw, but i am to just keep administering panadol. shes blissfully asleep now.
ok so here goes.

I think I"m going to stay home today. .
its nice to have a day off, even though its hard when your little one is not the best. hope he gets better fast.

kaz, love the dress, you look fantastic!

Brissy girls - i was thinking that maybe we could make it next Fri seeing as Lina's sick & maybe more of you could come then :) is that ok with everyone?

that sounds great kel, sorry to have cancelled out, but i dont want Angel or Nix to get it.

Cobey seems to be a lot better today -
glad that hes getting better, Maybe he and lina have similar thing?

I did jinx my epiphany a bit.
hope she gets back to sleeping again for you.

Good news for us, DH's bike sold!! For $200 more than the loser who pulled out was going to pay!!!

Oh and it's a definate.. we're moving house. Only about 15 mins away, but I still need to pack etc. The move is in less than 3 weeks!!! Argh......

yay bout the bike mich. hmm bit strange the ungvita didnt work. but its been known to happen. glad that the rash has improved though. good luck with the move.

, just hearing that newborn cry, made my heart melt. .

i missed the program tonight, although the other day i was at the shops with my mum, went to feed miss lina, and in the mothers room there was a wee babe who was only a week old. how gorgeous was she! certainly "felt" clucky hearing the newborn squeaks, but awwwwwwww was just adorable., "mantra to self" they grow!

anyhoos lovelies, will read a few more posts, then im off to the land of nod!

Mell, how'd you (& Nix) go with the bottle?

The bottle thing is not going that well, be we are trying everyday. I give him one bottle a day, but so far the most he has drank from it is 20mls  I have a hairdressers appointment tomorrow and mum is having him, so she is going to try and give him a bottle without me being around just to see if he will take it.

Is it just me being a pedantic mumma or has anyone else started thinking about bubba's first birthday??? I'm thinking a picnic in the park cos I think a big party for a one yr old is a bit pointless....

lol,no you aren't a pedantic mumma. We had a big 1st birthday for Bodhi, all the family, friends, BBQ lunch, jumping castle, the lot, so of cause we will have to do the same thing for Little Nix. I know they don't remember it, but it is so exciting, and great memories and photos, and a celebration that WE made it through the first year :D . Bodhi next big birthday will be his Th, so still a few years away yet.

Kaz, you are gorgeous, What is happening with the guy your pashed at the wedding. Have you heard from him.

TS, your kiddlets are so cute.

Rach, i have been thinking about you lately, i hope the boys have been good for you. Is Lachlan sleeping a bit better now.

HIGA, glad to hear Lina should be better today.

Seek, glad Master C is better. Hope he has a good day today.

Nix has been saying DADADADADADA for a little while now, but he still isn't saying MAMAMAMAMA.
Cloth nappies, i love my cloth nappies, they are so addictive, i don't think i can ever have enough of them.

SO yeah 3 days in hospital then I'm assuming I'll have to take it easy for a few weeks considering they're dealing with my spine.

:fingerscrossed: you get your op soon, it must be horrible having to wait so long!!

Our lovely Kel, I really hope everything takes a good turn for you. Like so many of the gals have said you're such a wonderful person. I sure hope things will get better soon.

YES! we're beginning to plan Cobey's birthday.. probably in a park nearby to me, big park, big playground... or Chris wants it up in Redcliffe because his christening will be near HIS parents, so he thinks it's fair for his birthday to be near mine...
I think I'll "win" though :)

Yay, Kel it worked :yelclap:

I forgot, Nix got his first blood lip yesterday. :( He was sitting up and fell forward and landed on a toy and has a tiny cut on his top lip, poor little chicken. Bodhi on the other hand, has at least one blood lip a week, crazy boy that one. I am surprised i haven't had Docs on my door step with the amount of bruises he always has.
Nix latest trick is to blow raspberries with a mouth full of food, so him and everyone and everything around him gets covered with food.

Cool.... lucky boys... if I could afford it I would have a big celebration.... but we don't have that many littlies around either so I think a picnic will do just fine!!

Nope... haven't heard from him.... and in a way I will be surprised if I do.... he is an ex from a few years ago and we have always had a lot of unfinished business and potential together but timing just never seemed right.... I laid it all on the line and told him exactly what I want once and for all, that I wasn't in it just for a bit of "fun".... I think it is probably more than he can handle right now.... but at least he knows where I stand.... He's in his last 6 mths of uni and his mum has been pretty ill over the last couple of yrs (she is the most lovely lady ever.... she even has told me when he's been single before in the hope we'd get back together...lol).... I can understand why he wouldn't want an instant family right now.... but at least I feel better for getting it out there.... gee it only took me 5 years.... lol..... and there's not much more I can do..... just wait and see.....

Kel - Angel is just gorgeous.....

HIGA - Hope Lina is picking up.... I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with the flu.... hoping I don't pass it on to madam but I daresay its inevitable.... so let the fun begin....

:hugs: for Nix and his blood lip... poor tike.... Pip is such a boof.... she has fallen off the lounge, realised she can slide backwards off the bed, headbutted the tv unit when trying to climb IN it, etc.... and not one tear yet!!! Crazy kid! (Gee that makes me sound like a bad mummy.... )

its shocking, and yes when one in our family gets it, they always share the love and of course the germs!

miss lina is still not crawling, she twists in circle when shes on tummy, but she prefers to sit up. cheeky bubs. i weighed her yesterday at work, and shes starting to gain back some weight. she weighed in at 7.76 so she did lose quite a bit when she was sick. was so easy to see, her clothes are starting to fit better again, and arent all floppy as opposed to last week.

anyhoos, gotta birthday pressie to wrap for briannas friend, shes got the party after school. and miss lina needs to have a sleep bbl.

I just watched saving babies and was an absolute blubbering mess

I told DF yesterday arvo that i was watching it and he wasnt allowed to tease me if I cried lol.. My heart broke for little Thomas' dad and for the mum and dad when they realized how serious Kyan's prob really is.. poor things..
baby Thomas was on that 9am show this morning and he's just soooo cute!!

She sits for a few seconds but really isn't interested in being stationary...should I be worried???

I think you'll find that's perfectly normal hun.. Kai will not sit for more than umm 3seconds at a time  soon as he's on the floor he's off in search of some form of trouble to get into..

good luck with the move!

Madam moo has been a bit troubled at bed times the last few nights.... this crawling bizzo is really confusing her..... she has taken to sleeping on her tum but wakes up in a state cos she has started crawling somewhere in her sleep.... Kai's been doing the same, I'll go in to check on him and he'll be up on all fours looking round all upset.. might try wrapping him if it's not too hot tonight.
I havent started thinking bout Kai's party yet but thats only because I have to get through Zac's first  We had a park/picnic for Zac's first and it was great.

aww poor Nix.. hope it's feeling better now.. Kai does the rasberry blowing food thing too, I end up wearing more cereal than he eats I think.

hmmm a quote didnt show up  Nix06 - we've just organised a party at Wild Kidz (indoor play centre) with all his little school friends then we'll have a family party at home the following weeked.. It's the first time he's had a party and had friends to invite it to so it's a big thing for him.. *sighs* I cant believe my boy is almost 5..

well we just got back from our first playgroup :smiliedance: kai loved it!! He didnt know what to do with himself having so many kids to chase adn toys to bash around lol.. The mums seemed nice, only really spoke to a couple but it's a start.

Mr P got his needles today (late, I know, I'm slack) and the doc asked me if I had a preference for nappies:laughing: The doc is going to be a grandma for the first time and wanted to buy clothies for her DIL, how nice! (She reccommends cloth to prevent nappy rash, but no-one listens to her, lol)

 Heya lufflies!

Thanks Nix, its surprising i have heard that from quite a few mums this week. Also my BIL didn't crawl at all and walked from nine months. He is an excellent athlete, so it should be all good. I also went to see my cousin this week and she has a 10mth old that still isn't crawling, so I am definitely not worried anymore. I have been proping her up on a towel during tummy time and she is now pushing up on her arms, so thats a start!!

I feel like the worst mummy in the world :(

One of Cobey's favouritest things in the UNIVERSE is to crawl to the gate at the top of the stairs, climb to stand, and kiss the doggies.
Well he crawled to the gate.. leant on it and I heard the tell-tale noise of it opening. :( and then he shrieked.. I ran as fast as I grabbed his leg on the 3rd step down (of 15) the poor little one now has a bruise on his head (just after the one from him headbutting the stool had cleared) and he got a terrible fright.. so a cold washer to the head and some boob.. he was kinda happy again. :(

I feel really really terrible. I called Chris and had a sook.
I -thought- I'd latched the gate properly *sigh* So upsetting.. and the scream he did just before he went down.. he was soooo frightened.

hello again. well lina has had no fevers at all today. so things are looking up. though she has a bit of a rash under her eyes and across the bridge of her nose, i rang one of my colleagues (great to have drs on call) and asked her wether it could be Roseola. and she said most likely. its a viral thingy, they have fevers for a few days, clear runny nose, then break out in the rash. i guessed it was as brianna had this when she was 7mths old. but yay shes not contagious (normally bubs catch it in the first 12mths) so we are able to go to a friends place tomorrow. (her baby is 1. shes still very happy, and is eating again,, but looks terrible., should ease up within the next few days. hmm maybes i should consider studying a bit more medicine. lol Dr Maria! here's some piciies of my Angel

Speaking of gorgeous, great pics Kel!

I can understand why he wouldn't want an instant family right now....

Has he met Piper? I've noticed lately that Nixie is attracting just as many guys as girls when we go out. I thought it was just the ladies that coo over babies, but there have guys of all ages giving her smiles and making her laugh. Maybe an instant family might be what he needs but he just doesn't know it yet!

hello ladies. ugh im so tired.

I can almost hear your voice - your sound tired! Poor lina has had some bad luck, but she's so cheeky still, so resilient. Hope you get some  tonight. PS. Dr Maria - what about being a CHN? It sounds like there are some dodgies out there, I think you'd be very reasuring and knowledgeable (3 bubs oughta qualify you hey?).

Jayney hope everything is going well for you?

How are the hols going? Maybe Aimz has eloped from all the pressure and Jayney is trying to get the boys back off ebay?

Then i am booked in for a pedicure on tuesday, oh how i love them.

Do the other July clothies have photos too? I'd love to see them, am only slightly obsessed.

im still awake :p lol just finished making a cheeseball for tomorrow, after watching the OC. lol loved that show. sad i know but its life!

I can almost hear your voice - your sound tired! Poor lina has had some bad luck, but she's so cheeky still, so resilient. Hope you get some  tonight. PS. Dr Maria - what about being a CHN? It sounds like there are some dodgies out there, I think you'd be very reasuring and knowledgeable (3 bubs oughta qualify you hey?).

hmm CHN eh?? should look into it. lol am, tired beyond the point that im so awake. ugh i cant stand that. i keep saying to myself that i will go to bed early, just never happens.

renee, lil miss B is absolutely adorable. i cant wait to eventually meet up with you, and the lil miss. love the picci.

oh venues easy lol the Fun Station at Whitfords is good, specially when schools in coz it's never very crowded and there's plenty of room for prams etc, there's a bubba section so they can crawl/roll around..

I dont think its wrong to feel disappointed.. I get the same when DF does similar things. We need our 'me time'..

Fun Station is great as then A will be occupied too. Now all we need is a date....

Oh and it's a definate.. we're moving house. Only about 15 mins away, but I still need to pack etc. The move is in less than 3 weeks!!! Argh......

Aargghh - moving house...so many good things, so many bad things about it. Goodluck with the stress, and to many new happy memories in the new house.

I just got a call from the hospital and I'm booked in for the 3rd of April
I'll get a call soon with details on when to go in etc but YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!! I guess my whinging the other day paid off hope I'm all good for my birthday on the 21st..

:yelclap: for your rant and the op being only about 6weeks away.

I feel like the worst mummy in the world :(

One of Cobey's favouritest things in the UNIVERSE is to crawl to the gate at the top of the stairs, climb to stand, and kiss the doggies.
Well he crawled to the gate.. leant on it and I heard the tell-tale noise of it opening.and then he shrieked.. I ran as fast as I grabbed his leg on the 3rd step down (of 15) the poor little one now has a bruise on his head (just after the one from him headbutting the stool had cleared) and he got a terrible fright.. so a cold washer to the head and some boob.. he was kinda happy again.

I feel really really terrible. I called Chris and had a sook.
I -thought- I'd latched the gate properly *sigh* So upsetting.. and the scream he did just before he went down.. he was soooo frightened.

Many hugs to you Seek - awful feeling.:hugs:

Nix - happy anniversary!!!

I JUST ORDERED MY FIRST EVER HONEYBOY! I'm soooo excited!!! They just had a subscriber only thingo on!!!

OMG, i missed out again  but well done, i would be excited aswell

Seek if you wanna join the bad mummy club you'll have to get in line behind me. I have a pearler of a story about Mr P and shopping trolley and a carpark on a big slope but I'll save it for another day

TS, that sounds very interesting. Sounds like Mr P went for a nice little ride. :D

Yay for you! I nearly peed my pants I was so excited by my fluffy mail today. 3 itti bittis came plus I put in my order for a berry plush, loveybum and rumpster too. Are you going to keep the other nappies? You'll have quite a stash soon - make sure you show us photos of B in all her new nappies!

Itti bittis are on my list to try. I love Swaddlebees, they are very trim, so i am thinking they must be similar to itti bittis. I also love BBB and GK's I thought i had some photos on my laptop on Nix is cloth, but they must be down stairs, so when i go down there, i will post some pictures.

HIGA, you would be a fab CHN

It is such a small world. Last weekend some Brissie Ladies and their DH's came over and Kel and her partner Ady were here first, so we were chatting away and it turns out, Kel and my DH know each other  They did the same sport as kids and were in the same club. Kel's Dad also remembers my DH, i still tripping over it

Last night i went over to Mums for a couple of hours as DH went out last night, and i felt like some hot chips, so rung up and ordered it, left the boys with mum and went and got it, all up, was gone about 10 mins. Nix got all upset that he couldn't see me, so i don't think i have any hope of leaving him there for a few hours on Friday night so we can go to the wedding reception kid free.

morning all. ONE CHILD FOR SALE,= shes 3yrs old, can be cute but is also feral. she likes to eat and eat and eat, and also to annoy (these are her specialties).........enquire within....

last night was the pits, went to bed just after midnight, and she woke up, saying that she didnt want to go to bed, she was screaming from 1215 until 215 (YAWN) nothing we said or did would calm her down, she was telling us to go away, so we did, then she screamed more. she finally gave up when i managed to rock her. gawd it was bad.

I'll have to look into the swaddlebees. Would love to see your photos, I'll get some once I'm up and running. I've got some other nappies coming so I'm going to wash them all together before I start. Maybe 10 minutes was too short a time IYKWIM - maybe he would've settled after 20 minutes or half an hour? It seems a shame to miss the reception and I bet he loves his grandma? Good luck!

Wish I could be there... post lots of piccies after please!

Ooohh yes, poop free photo please!

Well off to use my quiet time to clean the kitchen *sigh*. Am going to the toy library this morning. Nixie was on a friends fisher price bike thing and she loved. Am going to try a few things like this to see what she's into before I spend more money on toys! She's so into cruising, I thought she might like one of those old fashioned wagons - you know, like we used to push around as bubs? Anyway, have a great day everyone!

cute pics everyone,

i started reading posts about 3 hours ago then came back to comment and have forgotten all i had wanted to say.

had a rotten night too, the immunisations seem to have made Mr P very snuffly and he woke up and choked on a glob of pleghm at 1am and was just covered in muck and very uncomfortable, he didn't sleep again til 2am then our neighbours little turd erm child started up at 3.30am in their kitchen which is opposite our bedroom:mad: then DH had to wake up at 6am for work and I had to do cleaning for the open house.

lol Kel, I'll tell you the story when I meet you IRL one day. It's not something I really wanna post in a public forum

OH MY LORD you guys can NATTER!!!

I'm here at the library again but have a bit morework than usual this morning, so shouldn't be sitting here reading all this but hey ... SACK ME!! It's only a bit of fun for me.

The wierdest thing happened today, Estella was poking my tummy and saying "baby" then I told her there was no baby and she looked sad, and when I asked her if she'd like another baby she said "yes". Maybe I just want another?

Oh please, please, please have another!!! It would be so exciting. One of my besties had her first baby on Thursday night. She was due on the same day as two of my other friends, so it's all very exciting at the moment. Hamish sometimes talks about another - he knows that if we did... and we had a boy it'd be ARCHIE and if it twas a girl, it'd be MATILDA.

I feel like the worst mummy in the world :(

.

Nic - just from reading your posts, I know you are a fab mummy. As all have said, we all have these awful moments... but I'm kinda with Kaz, we have to teach our bubs what's safe and what's not. Hamish learnt from early on not to go into certain drawers, cupboards etc and I'm never having those ghastly SAFETY LOCKS in my house....

Mell - thanks for your thoughts. And hope you have fun getting your hair done. mine is well overdue for some pampering.

Nel - good news about the op... then perhaps baby number 3??

Renee - love your pics and especially your new avator.

HIGA - what is a cheeseball? It sounds delicious. Also, if you get a buyer for your 3 year old can you ask if they want a 2 year old as well.

Man are all you ladies using CLOTHIES? I like them but AM so lazy and I barely get through my washing as it is. Good on ya's.

Well, we've had another hectic week but sleep is looking up again. I've started puttin gLachlan in a sleeping bag and if it's too hot, I just crank up the air-con. We've seen a decrease in the stand-up routine in bed since then. So, perhaps those others who are struggling, invest in a sleeping bag.

I'm coming on BUBHUB less because I'm really trying to focus on my writing thisyear, so I'm finding it hard to catch up when I do, but promise to do my best to keep up to date with everyone and do more personals. By the way, where are you JESS??

Anyway better go do some work.

Not too hard at all.... I just modified a nappy pattern.... really its just a layer of pul (if you use print), or a layer of hidden pul with whatever fabric on the outer.... i put microfleece inside to make it nice and comfy... then just fold over elastic around the edge... you just pull it tight in the areas where you want elasticised..... and of course velcro.... and bobs your uncle your done!!

Pip has man booby's too!!!

sorry no personals just now, will come back to them later.. gunna have a bit of a me me me whinge :crying: after I posted on here about the op yesterday I went into my room and noticed my clock radio had been moved so my mind started going a mile a minute and I raced to the music room.. DF's guitar wasnt there.. I rang him to see if he had taken it to work for god knows what reason but no... my house has been broken into again :crying: they took his guitar, our video camera, a folder of about 50+ dvd's, my gold pierre cardin watch and gold bracelet (both pressies from my 21st), my keycard, DF's expensive headphones and possibly other items of jewellery :crying: The house was still entirely locked up when I got home so I'm guessing they took my spare key when the digi camera got stolen before and have made a nice little 'shopping list'
the forensics lady just left and she got some good prints but they might just be mine so not getting my hopes up..
DF is completely heart broken, that guitar is his life apart from me and the kids..
I feel horrible, they went through my unmentionables drawers..

HIGA - what is a cheeseball? It sounds delicious. Also, if you get a buyer for your 3 year old can you ask if they want a 2 year old as well.

rach, a cheeseball is a yummy recipe that a friend gave to me, it consists of chopped kabana, pickles, onion and red and green capsicum with philly cheese, and a bit of sour cream, then rolled lightly in curry powder. its absolutely delish. as for my 3yo ad, i will add your 2yo also. atm shes asleep in MY bed. oh well, if it means i get some better sleep then so be it.

Hi all

Well have had a very topsy turvy week

Firstly...

Myz - :hugs: hate it hate it hate it. I remember thinking - why do people get so upset when they're broken into? It's only stuff - that's until it happened to me (on Christmas eve when they stole all our pressies, so we didn't even know what they stole - more the feeling that they'd been right there!)

Nix - sorry nope - I spent all last night (okay so from 12 - 2) with A - woke with goodness knows what worries going through his head. But then again, he's always been a cr@ppy sleeper. K's been 100x better.

We've got my 13 yo step daughter with us atm and again, another multitude of emotions going through my head.

Hubby's obviously very stressed, (think some to do with having DSD around, some to do with work and :fingerscrossed: hopefully some sadness that we had to cancel our dinner tonight).

It's why I've escaped onto here again. LOL

Must get some sleep but once I go to sleep then I'll wake up to children and not have any me time again till kids are in bed tomorrow night *sigh*

Myztik you poor thing!! i just cant fathom what goes through these losers heads.... why they think they can come onto other peoples property and take what they please.... its disgusting!

Pegs i dont understand what you are going through personally however my thoughts are with you and i hope everything sorts itself out - you are such a strong woman!! i admire you in that you take her on as your own iykwim!

Kaz - i think i've just realised why so many of everyones posts make me laugh - there are a lot of leo babies in this thread!! mine included and oh my goodness is she a typical leo al and i are both virgos so i think we have a stubborn lil miss on our hands.

well i had a lovely night last night my mum step dad and 14 year old cousin were down but they all went to dinner and al was out at a housewarming (i bailed over a night in with my bestie) and she made a scrumtious chicken salad - she is a martha stewart just not in the criminal sense andwe had a great girlie night, i was in bed by 9.30 and woke up this morning wiht mum tapping me saying chloes awake then bubs and i cuddled in bed it was bliss..... i cherish time by myself!

oh we found my best friends bridesmaid dress its absolutely divine!!! by seduce and its gold and ivory and just stunning yay

My wee man just screamed for half an hour.

Teething gel wouldn't fix it (two brands, one bonjela and one heavy duty stuff that's behind the counter)
Panadol wouldn't work.
Cold washer from the fridge worked for about 2.0 seconds.
Boobie wouldn't help either :(

He eventually passed out after more gel and being cuddled on my tummy while I rubbed his back. :crying:
Makes me so upset.. I tried to fix him but nothing would work... I have a feeling that that tooth was actually cutting.

Seek and Pegs - I feel ya this morning! After coming home from sis's around 11:00, I thought she'd gone straight back to sleep. But she woke after about 15 minutes SCREAMING. She continued to SCREAM even with holding, putting in our bed, bottle, panadol. We were going crazy. She finally fell asleep in my arms at 3:30am and slept in our bed until about 8am as if nothing had happened! Am shattered, so is gav. Today is going to be a long day... am expecting child services any minute...

Wasn't it you being terrorised by a rogue dog? Maybe you can convince the dog to come live with you and guard the house? Bugger about the insurance, so sorry for you :hugs: .

OMG, do you really think it's them? How could they do that to you? That's so sad that family could be so selfish... I hope it's not them, it freaks me out to think they did it! But maybe you could sneak into their place and look for your stuff???

lol yeah it was me with the dog probelm.. we're seriouly thinking about getting one now..
One reason I think maybe my brother or at least someone we know is that next doors dogs didnt bark (they bark at people coming to our house aswell as their own).. How could they do it to us? Drugs to put it simply..they dont have a house, they sleep on peoples couches or sheds or where ever.. useless bums..
I've decided there was either a girl involved or someone too cheap to buy their girlfriend/mother presents coz I noticed lasst night that a bracelet worth maybe a whiole $10 is gone, half full bottle of avon perfum and a tabu perfumed body lotion... also a shopping bag withj unopened washing powder and dishwashing liquid FFS...

Hiya Nell, it sounds like a woman. No way a bloke would bother with half used perfume. Grrr its so horrible when you can't trust your rellies (speaks from experience). Have you mentioned this to the police?
I don't know about the meet. Tbh I'm having a bit of a crisis at the moment, my mum is due to arrive in Aussie this week and shes had a major breakdown, I've even got to change my mamogram appointment as its just after she arrives.
If you guys are looking at March 6th, the arvo would be better for me but it's probably best to arrange it without me and if I can come I'll come ifkwim. I would love to make it if I can.

and yeah I gave the police my brothers details and his girlfriends details. they were seen in the area that day so they are POI's (persons of interest)

Kaz - i think i've just realised why so many of everyones posts make me laugh - there are a lot of leo babies in this thread!! mine included and oh my goodness is she a typical leo al and i are both virgos so i think we have a stubborn lil miss on our hands.

Oh tell me about it.... when I found out my due date I was like "oh no not a leo"..... out of the three major relationships I've had in my life two were leos.... and whilst they were intense, oh my they are just something else.... lol.... (the other was with a typical taurus so I don't know whats worse....)...

I think I'm gonna have one little melodramatic actress on my hands.... the tanty's have started with a vengeance.... If i take too long getting the milk jugs out I get the screaming with breath holding so the face goes red, she throws herself backwards and kicks her legs..... then we have the fake crying with the mouth sealed tight so you can't put the dummy in.... and then there's the really pathetic fake cry with the little cough sound thrown in..... LOL...

March 6 is the day I cant do anything. it's Zac's birthday and I'm on roster at his school.

That's my youngest sis's bday too.... and a friends...

Pegs - HUGE :hugs: lovey! Hopefully you can get that dinner rescheduled and have some nice relaxing time to yourselves....

Seek - Poor Cobes.... and Nix - Same with Nixie.... It sucks when it appears nothing will appease them....

WELL I'm so over this night routine... if anything Pip's sleep habits are getting worse not better.... she wakes nearly hourly for a feed and cry once I go to bed..... :banghead:

I'm just on here looking for a baby monitor.... then action plan "Get your own Bed" will start.... I'm gonna try moving her into her own cot.... maybe she wakes so often cos she can smell me and thinks its free milk at the bar... lol...cos she seems to sleep fine from 8ish til I go to bed around 12..... here's hoping...

morning ladies. well had another bad night last night, this time it was linas turn - her and natty are alternating plenty! although cris let me have a sleep from 630 until 930  i know, and it did do me wonders. just finished cleaning the whole house, as the last couple of days have been really hectic, and it smells devine and looks it too! just got one more load of washing to hang out then im done - aside from when its time to bring in the washing, fold and put away again. IT NEVER ENDS!

Aww that'd make her a libran like me (13th).... That's where all her charm comes from.... ;)
hmmm charm? shes definitely got that! so kazzie dear are you saying that you were a little feral also? lol! what other surprises should i be on the look out for?

. Daycare will probably think the same as I do when I look at the bruises on Zacs legs " boys!"

Hi all you lovelies!!!

Feeling heaps better this morning (well not emotional anyways:D ). It's funny - I haven't been really upset, just very confused and feeling like there's something I should be doing for the other two kids, but feeling powerless to do it (and not really knowing what it is). I think that's what makes me emotional as it's frustrating the heck out of me. My entire career is based on helping other people and I think the fact that I find it hardest to help the people I care about the most is what makes my brain hurt.

Hubby's taken DSD back home and left two children sleeping so I hopped on here - of course K woke up as soon as he left, so she's sitting playing at my feet. A needs a jolly long sleep - he's been particularly whingy lately, refusing to ask for things with his words - I reckon a good sleep fixes most things. It's a three hour round trip to take DSD home so a bit of hub time here.

Yes, hubby's been stressed and I hate how that makes him act, but we're fine - we just continually remind each other that we are each other's forever person and so have to support each other. Also means we're continually looking for ways to keep our love fresh - isn't it the little things that help? I told hubby I feel like something special for dinner, so he's bringing home some camembert and filo pastry and I'll make some chicken parcels with bacon and camembert in them - YUM!!!:chef: Oh, and our romantic dinner was cancelled as DSD came over - have rescheduled, but if DSS wants to come it will be rescheduled again - it's funny, their mother has told me she wants us to have both the step kids together as she and her partner want some alone time - hey, I want that too - should I ask her to take my two kids for a weekend - just joking - she will never be allowed within a 100m radius of my kids. She has proved that a house full of violence (and perhaps drugs) is not a place for raising healthy children. It makes me sad for my stepkids, but glad that my hubby got out and has a chance to raise our two beautiful children away from all that cr@p, just makes me worry about what sort of an influence my step kids might be on my kids in the future, and I hate that my thoughts run that way - it's not fair - they are only 11 and 13!

Anyway - enough about me.

K's middle top two teeth keep making an appearance then disappearing. Apparently it's harder for them to come through when the one's on either side are already there. Also she goes between being constipated and flooding the nappy - hasn't got this solids thing yet. I've realised that I haven't posted any new photos lately, so better get onto it.

I'm taking A back to the paediatrician as I'm thinking more and more he's showing behaviours like he's had a seizure when I haven't witnessed something. Like when he woke up at 1 on Sat morning and wouldn't stop screaming or kicking against me. Last visit to the paed he said it was all still normal (15witnessed seizures since he was 9months), and he could still grow out of them (looking at by the time he's 6), but I think it's time I pressed for an MRI.

Ah - now typing all that makes me realise why I type the stuff I do when I'm on here late at night - there's obviously stuff going on in my head (that's when I say my brain hurts LOL), and it all appears here in a vent so I can clear the space between my ears!

OH and on the star sign thing - I'm a Leo through and through - take the days from each end and I'm in exactly the middle of the sign. (Aug 7), so I know all about strong Leo personalities.

Here's a question for you though - K was due on July 25, but made her appearance on July 14. So was to be a Leo (very much on the cusp of Cancer), but is now a Cancer - how much of a difference does the time of birth to the due date make?

I've rambled rather a lot in this post I fear (will go back and put a warning on), and I've been rather self indulgent. I will therefore promise to get back on tonight after dinner and pop lots of personals on - I promise:fingerscrossed:

Hi everyone  ! Can't believe it's sunday evening again, it's like that Leunig calendar where a year goes by in a day...

Oh tell me about it.... when I found out my due date I was like "oh no not a leo"..... I think I'm gonna have one little melodramatic actress on my hands.

Kaz and Aimz, I'm a leo too and not sure whether to sheepishly admit you're right or defend my star sign! I'll be honest though, I am such a drama queen and very lucky to have a dh that puts up with me... I work hard to be normal most of the time, but sometimes when we fight or I don't get my way I can sulk, do the silent treatment, put the guilts on him. Hope your bubs have some other star sign rising or something to even it all out!

just finished cleaning the whole house, as the last couple of days have been really hectic, and it smells devine and looks it too!

Higa, hope tonight is better for sleeping! Good on you with the housework too, I feel guilty just reading your post...

Feeling heaps better this morning (well not emotional anyways).

Pegs, what a beautiful relationship you and dh have! Sounds like you really have it together, despite the challenges. I think your step kids are very lucky that you are their step mum. I hope your love rubs off and helps them overcome their issues. Good luck with the paed, poor little A.

Renee - which housewive are you? I'm definitely not Bree, she'd die at the state of my house...

Also, we'd been wondering about Jayney so I sent her a pm, in case she hadn't found the new thread. She said she's had her mil staying (& interfering!), quite a bit of sleep deprivation and is about to go away. So she's missing the hub but won't be able to get on much, so everyone think happy thoughts for her! :hugs:

I'm just on here looking for a baby monitor.... then action plan "Get your own Bed" will start.... I'm gonna try moving her into her own cot....

Hey Kaz, good luck with the moving to the cot. I forgot about say about the monitor - what size place do you live in? We got a tomy walkabout digital. For some reason the normal walkabout is $100+ and the digital version is $20. Neither us or the sales person could figure out what the difference was between them, they said the same stuff on the box. We assumed it had less range, but we're in a an apartment, so we got it and it was fantastic.

But since moving her into her own room, it has been really hot and our monitor beeps to tell us when it's over 23 degrees, so we stopped using it. To be honest, if Nixie is awake we always wake, even without the monitor. At this age her lungs mean we hear her when she wants us too and sometimes she plays happily when waking before calling us.

Let us know how it goes

Well, it's 5.30am and I''m INFURIATED!!! I've hada shocking night with HAm, a not particularly brilliant one with Lachlan and now it's 5.30am and he's refusing to go tosleep. He woke for five at a feed and I find that if I feed him before 5am, he goes back to sleep till 7am and if I feed him after 5am, he won't. Anyone else found this? I remember itw as the same with Hamish - I'm even contemplating setting my alarm for 4.30am and dream feeding him.

Anyway slightly annoyed at DH too as I've handled it all night, so at 5.15am I went in and asked him to help and he said, just bring Lach to me in the bed, but I know that won't help. He won't go back to sleep and I'll be left dealing with him again when DH goes to work at 6am. So have completely got up to make a point!

Sorry haven't read through any of the posts yet, so no personals, will do that now.

That is so lovely - after whinging about my DH, I kinda feel bad. You guys have so much more going on - we also try to remind ourselves that when we get narky, it's simply because we're tired and stressed - but sometimes that's hard to remember.

I'm just on here looking for a baby monitor

I found with Zac that the baby monitor was my worst enemy :o I jumped up at every little noise and ran down to his room and half the time I think I was what actually woke him up.. So I havent used one with Kai unless we're outside when he's sleeping etc..
How'd she go in the cot??

myzzie, that totally sux. dh's bestie is a tradie an his bro was constantly taking his tools. he'd just go to cash converters when they went missing and buy them back..

my mum and aunt have had to go to cashies and get their stuff back several times due to my brother.. only once have they ahd to buy it back, my aunt goes in carrying on about them accepting stolen goods and that they're nothing but glorified drug dealers and they usually just give it back to her  probably to get her out of the store!

I'd be pushing for the MRI.. Everything you describe sounds exactly the same as my neice, she's around the same age as A (maybe a little younger). They've diagnosed her with epilepsy now and are trialling medications.. Hope you can get some answers this time hun.

anyways I just jumped on coz I got up earlier than usual and didnt have to start with the breakkie rush etc.. but the alarm just went off so I best move my butt.

Rach hope your days gotten better {{hugs}}

forgot to tell ya's, I got an interesting phone call yesterday. Zac's fathers girlfriend rang me, she's obviously out of gaol and is back in Perth. She said she was ringing for a few reasons, mainly to apologise for their stupidity and she knows there's no excuse but she's sorry for what they did.. I said I appreciate teh apology but it doesnt change what they did and it doesnt change the affect it's had on Zac.. She also wanted to know his shoe size to send him some new shoes for his birthday (every year his dad buys him shoes.. can he not think of anything else?) and lastly she told me that his dad has been sentenced to a further 12mnths in gaol in melbourne and that the charges from over here are not being added to the time he's doing now so if he returns to perth he has a hell of alot more gaol time facing him (armed robbery, federal charges to do with counterfeit money plus others).. She said he's worried he'll never see Zac again and I was honest and said that as far as I'm concerned he has no right too.. She said she understands but no doubt she waited for him to call her and told him everything I had to say..
She sounds like she's grown up a bit since she rang me at 5am to tell me it was all my fault 6mnths ago lol.. Maybe she'll realise in the next 12mnths that he's not worth waiting for..
It's bad I know but sometimes I feel sorry for her, I can just see myself 5yrs ago and I wouldnt wish that life on anyone..

Horrible weather here today (and yesterday) so I'm gunna have to go the day without the computer *cries* seeing as I can already hear thunder..

Hi Folks,

Tried to get onto the hub last night and it kept saying there was an error. All is good here. Sorry I haven't been on for a while had MIL here and the boys christening so heaps of family and busy times.

MIL interfers and tries to get DH off side with me. She has to have the last say with everything and cannot take a joke. Anyway lucky she lives so far away in Tassy so we don't see her very often.

The boys are great - still BF and waking up through the night for feeds sometimes only once but others twice. We had a great night with them last night I got to sleep into 8 after feeding them at 2am.

Still no teeth but they have certainly been wingy on and off and showing signs of them. They are both standing up on chairs etc and getting into everything. I figure the tupperware drawer can be theirs to play with. Also they have discovered the cat flap so its only a matter of time before the climb out. They are also standing up in the cot and playing with each other through the bars in the cot. Its so cute to see.

Off to Yamba this Monday for two weeks so won't have a computer their so you guys will have to give me an update when I get back.

Hope the Bris ladies enjoy the meet next Monday. One day I will get to meet all of you.

About to go and make some pizza bases as we have friends coming over for dinner today.

Oh and I still don't know how to quote and for some reason I cannot put smiles etc in. Not sure why.

Lots love
Jayney

Myz - wow! weird about the girlfriend now calling you to apologise. I'm with you - the token efforts are sort of okay, but Zac's dad will definitely be having to do some major work (if he's ever out of gaol) to see him. Sad that you can see where she's at, but great that you've moved so far yourself!

Nix - maybe we should all give our desperate housewife - I think there was a thread a while back, but I didn't take the test. Much as I'd love to be a Gaby or Susan, I'm sure I'm Lynette - frazzled with the kids, forever trying to juggle work and kids, and forever trying to deal with a desperate husband, who of course has provided me with the psycho ex to deal with :p

Jayney - great that the boys gave you a sleep-in. I look forward to a day when I wake up by myself (no kid time wake up). Think it's a few years away though. Awesome that you're still feeding them as well. Glad MIL is gone and you've got some space again.

As for the quote thing - there's two ways to do it. If you only want to quote one post, then click the big button at the end of the person's post (on the left) and it will go directly to replying with the quote. If you want to multi-quote (different people's posts), click the button in the bottom right and it will change to red (click again on it and it will go back to normal). If using this second option, it doesn't go direct to quoting - you have to click reply and then the post turns up in your reply - hope that made sense.

Oh - just thought - about the smilies - there's a box to tick down the bottom before you click to send a post that says disable smilies in text - maybe your box is ticked???

A was up again last night for about an hour, which set off K (or maybe it was because she was constipated), but thinking definitely need to get that paed appt organised.

TS - I actually went on Live last night to see if I could find you - you'd disappeared - did you here I was coming - Haha

Listening to all this talk about cots and own rooms etc, it amazes me that I still have K in her bassinet. she is a still sleeper (like me, not her dad or brother) and doesn't pull to sit - funny thing is if she is sitting, she will pull to stand, so I should move her, but she's always still lying down giggling (or crying, depends how hungry she is) when I go to her when she wakes.

Thinking I should turn off the computer today as the thunder is all around.... so I think that's it for now - at least I got to do some personals - now - just need to take some piccies....

Hi all

Back again...just wanted to say...

Pegasus - I love 'Forever person' I have to tell DH about that. He is my forever person...but lately things have been rough and i think we keep on forgetting. Also :hugs: about A I dont know how I would deal with that...so sending positive thoughts your way!

Jayney - How do you do it with twins? I am finding it hard enough with just one! I take my hat off to you. I was talking to a lady the other day who had twins and she said that she was sure at times she feed one baby twice and one went with out...hehehe thought that was sooo funny!

Anyway a little more about Eve...
I still BF her...she started waking 2/3 times a night at about 5 months...dont know where my good sleeper went :gloomy:
Just before i started back at work I thought I would let her try and settle herself...bit hard when she is in the cot next to the bed. Anyway I try to offer water if its before 5am...some of the time it works...saturday night was strange so i caved in...she was dreamfed at 11, then woke at 1.30 where i resettled, then woke at 2.30. I thought she must have been hungry so i caved and fed her...oh well - we do what we do just to get through.

We are still wrapping her for sleep...so if one hand comes out i need to get her up an re-wrap which is a pain.
I am waiting for her to move into her room (:fingerscrossed: shortly...DH is STILL trying to do her room) so that she can try to get used to sleeping without it...but i am sure we will have some sleepless nights again.

better go - hope everyone is well
mica

k.. I'll try again. my internet had a sad before and I lost my post then had to disconnect the modem for a minute to get anything to work

Pegs - I'm not suprised K is still in the basinette! She's so little and dainty :p

Jayney - Have a nice trip!!

Mica - Nice to hear from you again! It seems alot of our 'sleep throughers' started waking again around that time, my lil man included.

Am I the only one who doesnt even know the names of the desperate housewives? :o

whats the go with this member number thing everyones putting in there sigs?

FIL came and changed the locks for us last night but I'm now wondering if they've come in through the bathroom window. The latch is broken and I managed to open it from outside when I locked myself out a few months ago.. now I'm too paranoid to leave the house til thats fixed  might have to ring the police back and let them know..

anywho Kai's awake so gunna go make him some lunch

Quick lunchtime post!

I turfed Estella out of our bed and cut off midnight boobies when she was demanding them hourly at ooh 6-7 months old lol! hehehe

 cold turkey method hey? It's only nice to feel wanted after 6am in the morning...

Well, it's 5.30am and I''m INFURIATED!!!

:hugs: Hope tonight gets better! I think you're doing brilliantly with your two boys - I would be having a nervous breakdown! Must work on my coping skills before having another bub...

forgot to tell ya's, I got an interesting phone call yesterday. Zac's fathers girlfriend rang me, she's obviously out of gaol and is back in Perth.

It's all happening in your world atm! Sounds like you've got great perspective. At least the extra time in goal for him must work in your favour with custody? Is your custody papers just a formality or would they really even consider his dad?

I'd like to say Gabrielle.....but in all honesty...prob more like Lynette with B racing around the place and me looking all 'old and frazzled' LOL. OH! And maybe chuck in a bit of Edie's 'vixenness' for a few months time! ;)

So Pegs and Renee are going with Lynette! I don't think I have it together enough to be Lynette. Maybe I'm more Susan in a clumsy, foot in mouth type of way, just a better cook? I think Kaz might be a bit gaby - she looks glamorous and had a sexy hook up at the wedding...!

They are also standing up in the cot and playing with each other through the bars in the cot. Its so cute to see.

What a shame your MIL is no fun. Makes you wonder how the sons could turn out so well hey? If you can, I'd love to see a photo of the boys playing through the cots, it sounds adorable. Hope you enjoy the break and get lots more 8am mornings!

I still BF her...she started waking 2/3 times a night at about 5 months...dont know where my good sleeper went

It's a conspiracy... I'll pm you a joke that was on here about sleeping through! Have you got some photos of Eve? A lot of people use photobucket. I just love baby photos!

Well, back to work... you didn't see me...

HIGA - hope you had a better night sleep!
it was slightly improved, but last night it was briannas turn to wake up. sigh* and lina woke a few times also

The boys are great - still BF and waking up through the night for feeds sometimes only once but others twice. We had a great night with them last night I got to sleep into 8 after feeding them at 2am.

sounds like you had a good nights sleep then. hope the christening went well. have a great time away also.

All fun and games for me at the moment lol.. The custody issue is basically more for my peace of mind. Just so I know he cant come waltzing in and take Zac away from me.. I seriously doubt the courts would even look twice at his dad. But at this stage, having no residency order in place he has as much rights as I do.. sad but true unfortunately..

Maria - glad I'm not the only one

Hi ladies,I had a go at this zoints profile and I think I managed to put in a few pictures. Let me know if you guys can view them. As for the rest of this zoints things its not real user friendly (for me anyway) so I will give it another go when I have time.As for BF twins I have kept a book with every time they have been fed and what side they fed on. A great tip given to me by my obstrician (she has twins also) otherwise I would not have know what time and what side they fed on last. One morning I fed both of them on one side and the only reason I knew is the other boob was just so massive. I didn't think it could get that big (so for relief I had to express). The Disable smiles in text isn't ticked so who only knows whats wrong.

I think Kaz might be a bit gaby - she looks glamorous and had a sexy hook up at the wedding...!

Agreed Nix, Kaz can be the July06's Gabrielle (*obviously pronounced in a sexy latino voice*)

you didn't see me

...see who...???

But at this stage, having no residency order in place he has as much rights as I do.. sad but true unfortunately..

Isn't it sad that you need to think that way! What have the solicitors/family courts said about a custody agreement? I understand your need to have something in place for your peace of mind, if nothing else

Nix - maybe we should all give our desperate housewife - I think there was a thread a while back, but I didn't take the test. Much as I'd love to be a Gaby or Susan, I'm sure I'm Lynette - frazzled with the kids, forever trying to juggle work and kids, and forever trying to deal with a desperate husband, who of course has provided me with the psycho ex to deal with :p....

 Ladies you crack me up.... I would have to say nope def not a Gaby... I'm a cheapskate, no expensive taste here.... and I'm def not glamarous...

I would have to say more a Susan.... I'm a deadset clutz.... terrible taste/luck when it comes to men.... and hopeless at making decisions!

The cot move wasn't the miracle cure... think it will be more a slow process of transition.... but :fingerscrossed: we'll get there eventually....

Only1mica - just adorable pics....

What have the solicitors/family courts said about a custody agreement?

I dont see me and the ex coming to any form of agreement  and if thats the case it then goes to court.. The lawyers told me it's probably in my best interest not to make the first move becuase it gives him the opportunity to negotiate visitation etc, where as seeing as I have been his sole carer since he was 18mnths old I can just deny him access and let him then take it to court which I very much doubt he will considering all the stuff the courts will hold against him..

sorry to ramble :o

jayney, im still trying to work out the zoints thing. for some reason it wont let me add any interests at all. anyone?

myz, you are such strong woman with all that you are going through with DS1, chin up, shoulders hunched. your doing great. the courts are just stoopid sometimes. we went through alot with my sister.

lina has been quite a larakin this arvo. her latest trick is pulling my face (be it ears or hair) towards her and biting either my nose, cheek or chin, and laughs about it. and yes it does hurt. teeth indentations on the face isnt really the "look"

"Yayness" of today.. Cobey drank from a straw this afternoon - YAY!

"MUMUMUMUM"

What a clever little man Cobey is drinking form a straw. :yelclap: How exciting his saying mumumum, i am still waiting  Nix just likes to say DADADADADA.

Not much has been happening lately. Nix still doesn't have any teeth, he is just about crawling, he will do 2 crawls then flop donw onto his belly and get up and do another 2, so i dont' think it will be to ar away before he is off.
He is starting to eat more then a teaspoon of food at each meal now, so that is good. I went and saw my cousin today who had a baby last week and OMG, I forgot how small they are, he was sooooo tiny.

Mariposa
26-02-2007, 20:46

Thats awesome - Eve is taking water from a magmag sippy cup with a soft spout...havent even thought about a straw yet.

Eve started saying dada the other day...then over the weekend she started saying Memm...its so cute ...go Evie :yelclap:

As for crawling...she hates being on her tummy for some reason. I am a little worried...loves sitting up and pulls herself up on me (even on the couch...which is scary)
I keep on thinking that she will walk before she crawls...I guess we will see soon.

To be honest it would be cool if she could crawl...but i am not rushing it...cause i know there will be no stopping her.

LOL Maria, something to look forward to I guess!! :o

he said "MUMUMUMUM"

How cute!!! B said daddaddad twice about a month ago (to me!! heh heh heh) then she started on mummummum (also really general) then for the last 2-3 weeks, she's been saying mum mum to me!!! (And only me!) She still says dadadad but random!!! How cute are their little voices though! And she is very obvious now with what she wants. When she wants to be picked up, it's a grunty 'Uh', for my hair it's a soft 'ha'! Clever lil miss that she is!

I went and saw my cousin today who had a baby last week and OMG, I forgot how small they are, he was sooooo tiny.

 I KNOW!!! Saw a week old bub toward the end of Jan, and I was scared to hold her, like I might break her or something, and she was born 3.7kg - B was only 3.2!!! Amazing to think how much they've grown, hey!

To be honest it would be cool if she could crawl...but i am not rushing it...cause i know there will be no stopping her.

It's great when they do in a lot of ways, but also scary, cos that's when they get into HEAPS of mischief!!! :D

I'm thinking I might wheel the cot into my room and see if I can get her to sleep in it there to start with....

I just don't know what else to do.... :banghead: I don't know whether she is waking to feed just cos she can, or whether I'm not eating well enough (which I probably am not) and this is having an effect on my milk quality so she needs to feed more or what!!! :banghead:

The talking is very cute isn't it.... Pips repetoire includes mum mum (which she now identifies with me and yells out when she wakes up sometimes).... bub bub... a da sorta sound.... tah (but not actually at appropriate times) and yeah....

Yay Nix & Cobes!

I dont understand it either nay.. It's all really confusing and overwhelmig to be honest..

seeing as were discussing 'baby talk' I think Kai is trying to say dance. It's so cute, as soon as he hears music he starts bopping away and DF and I always say 'dancing' or 'dance dance' so now when he's grooving he goes 'da' but it's different to when he says dada iykwim

{{hugs}} Kaz.. Kai started waking more often once I moved him into his cot and he's still doing it 3months down the track. Might be worth a shot putting the cot in your room, she'll get used to being in her own space but still feel you near by.

Yay all the moving and talking bubs! Mine appears to prefer taking off to talking to me... All I get is a random mum thrown in that doesn't seem to mean me :crying: ...

Higa & Seek - Nixie is a biter too, gotta keep tabs on her at mothers group so I'm not embarassed when she eats the other babies...

Myz - Gorgeous about the dancing!! Can you get a video?

Kaz - Worth a try in your room for some sleep! Maybe she's just used to your sounds etc. Later you could try music or white noise to comfort her in her own room? Or you could put a small square of fabric down your top then give it to her to sleep with? Good luck!

Renee - Awwww, so jealous! Maybe B can call Nixie and explain what the words are...?

hey guys...how do i make my zoints thingie look pretty? I had a look at some of yours and there are pretty backgrounds...can anyone point me in the right direction?

Mic - cute, cute pics! I thought she's got a great necklace, but then I realised that must be her christening/baptism? I don't know how other people did their backgrounds, I couldn't figure it out. So I made a background in Illustrator and loaded it as a jpeg. Does that help? You can choose backgrounds/designs from the public list too - have you seen those?

Weird, weird day today... Nixie woke about 4am, then didn't wake until 8:30am. Tried to put her to bed around 10:30 but she DID NOT want to go. So ate her snack too close to lunch, wouldn't drink her milk and went to bed about 12:30 without her morning nap. She's never skipped a morning sleep before. So far she's sleeping well tonight, guess we'll see how she goes... Good luck everyone else  ... !

I dont understand it either nay.. It's all really confusing and overwhelmig to be honest..

Tell you what! I'd be confused and overwhelmed too!!! It's not fair is it! But, look at what you got out of the relationship!!! :smiliedance: I hope that it all works out fine, I mean, his dad may not even want to get custody - maybe he realises that he needs to sort his own life out first - I hope it doesn't adversely affect Zac!!!

I think Kai is trying to say dance. It's so cute, as soon as he hears music he starts bopping away and DF and I always say 'dancing' or 'dance dance' so now when he's grooving he goes 'da' but it's different to when he says dada iykwim

I'd LURVE to catch that on vid too Nel!

Kaz - ... Or you could put a small square of fabric down your top then give it to her to sleep with?

That's also a suggestion that I've been thinking of doing myself! B has been rather...shall we say...'clingy' the past week, and cries when she wakes and realises I'm not next to her (I think that's what it is???) anyways, she loves TAGS - like clothing tags, toy tags, the list is endless! I bought her a taggie book ages ago, and she adores it! I saw in the Babies Galore catalogue that they sell taggies small square thingos...thinking about getting one and sleeping with it for a couple of nights (kinky I know :D) then giving it to B to have with her at night! I have heard HEAPS about doing this, maybe even give Pip a small shirt of yours or something with your smell on it for comfort!!! :fingerscrossed: GOOD LUCK!!!

Kaz are you taking any vitamins. I am still taking Elevit, only cause every time i run out or stop taking it, i go down hill very fast. I haven't been taking it for the last week as i have run out, (must get some today) and Nix has been waking up twice a night for a feed  i am buggered.

Kaz, i got a notice in the mail yesterday to pick something up at the post office, i think this is it :smiliedance: i will get it after my pedicure and will email you.

What time does your bubbies go to sleep. I think Nix is going to bed to early. He is in bed by 6.30pm, he normally sleeps for 8 - 9 hours then wakes for a fed around 3am then back down till about 6am. But i keep thinking if i can get him to go to bed a little later, he would be sleeping through. His last feed is about 6pm. So is he going to bed to early.

Got my pedicure today, can't wait. My SIL is going to have Nix for an hour while i am there, so it will be very nice and relaxing.

Better go and get these 2 boys breakfast then get Bod ready for Kindy.

goodmorning ladies - last day off before 3 days at work... and my washing machine is stuffed. serves us right for going a bit ott on the weekend and buying a new tv unit, home theatre system, futon and coffee maker - ahhh well.

i got the house finished! yay - 7 huge bags went to lifeline and 4 went in the bin

i have also become an ebay addict...

Myz the law sometimes fails the good people..... i would probably just keep a diary of every contact (ie phone call, letter) and also have a good solicitor on stand by but i would say the courts would be in your favour

talking - chloe says hello dada but then when hes not here goes daddaddaddad alllll day...

chloe is in bed by 6.15 every night and sleeps til about 7 or just before.... so i dont think 6.30 is too early and i also think that its good cause you wont have to adjust sleep times at all as they get older..... it also gives you and dh us time!!!

hmmm other news.... kaz i still take a multi (althought i am not bf) and if i dont i get super run down.......

B has dinner at 6pm, and is generally in bed by 7/7.30pm she wakes at 6am for brekky!

I think anywhere from 6.30-7.30pm is best. If B's had a yukko day, I give her dinner and hour early so she can have an extra hour's sleep and she still wakes at the same time! (Even that time she slept through dinner, she still woke at around 6ish!)

4 days off the net and a huge amount of pages. to be honest i didn't read them all but i skimmed.

still no teeth or crawling for the conman. he is however getting sick i think. all day just wanting cuddles and crying. he was exposed to another kid who was exposed with the chicken pox. so that may be the reason im not sure.

dh and i are going away for a night on Friday for our anniversary. going to be sad leaving my baby for the night but dh and i really really need the time alone. he is driving me insane lately!!he keeps coming home and acting like a child and when i tell him i need and adult to come home he says 'but im only 22, not 40'. :banghead: so he thinks his immaturity is fine.

anyways sorry for the whinge. better clean while he is sleeping.

Hey gals

Well, it's ''quiet time'' at our house at the moment and I'm standing firm that even if Ham doesn't sleep, betwen 1 and 2 (when Lachlan usually sleeps) is time to rest. I've got so much to do for the two committees I'm on, so am trying to get that done but thought I'd try catch up on Bubhub at the same time. Like Shea - I've taking to skim reading lately cos I just can't keep up. But where oh where are Jess and Mich?? COME BACK BUDDIES...

What time does your bubbies go to sleep.

Since I started the Tizzy Hall routine, Lachlan has dinner at 5pm, a bath at 6pm and then we go in his room to dry, dress, read books, have breastmilk and then I put him in his sleeping bag and in the cot. It's going well :fingerscrossed: for now, but I find that if I take him out of the room at all after bath, it's not as easy to get him to sleep. He's still waking up an average of twice a night but if he goes down about 7pm without a fuss and sleeps till 7am (apart from thos two feeds), I'm happy!

:banghead: Lil miss is trying my patience something shocking!!!

Kaz - I'd really suggest getting a hold of Tizzy Hall's Save Our Sleep. It's tough at first but now we're getting somewhere we're all reaping the rewards of more sleep!

Anyway, Quiet Time is almost up but I just wanted to say hi! LAchlan is pretty much crawling nowand making lots of babbling noises but I'm yet to believe that any of his mas and das are anything but coincidence.

Hope everyone else is happy and going well

Come to think of it her stopping sleeping through does coincide with me stopping taking the pregnancy & breastfeeding vitamins and iron.... hmmmm.....

:smiliedance: I hope it is your parcel hun..... and I REALLY hope its to your liking.... :fingerscrossed:

Kaz - I'd really suggest getting a hold of Tizzy Hall's Save Our Sleep. It's tough at first but now we're getting somewhere we're all reaping the rewards of more sleep!

Thanks matey... might just have to invest in that one.... I'm willing to try anything at the moment....

Madam now has a bed time of around 7.30 - 8.30ish.... she goes down fine then but the fun begins around 12-1ish.....

:gloomy: im in agony. im injured!

last night brianna woke up crying from a bad dream, which woke me up (around1230) so i jumped out of bed quickly to go to her (before she woke the other 2) raced out of my bedroom, and slipped on the tiles. my back hit the corner part of the wall, its quite bruised, hurts to sit too long, my ankle has ballooned double, and i have a big circular cut on my toe (2nd last from the right) which looks like it may form into a blood blister.

OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW

I Cant believe i went a$$ over! not happy at all, lucky cris woke to my scream, i told him to call the ambos as i couldnt move, but then decided not too, just to get me a heat pack. so today i went to work (in thongs no less ) wounded!

OMG, you poor thing :hugs: :hugs: Hope you start to feel better soon. Soak in a nice bath with some nice salts in there.

Had my pedicure today, lush lush lush, love them. It was nice just to have an hour by myself. I wondered the shops after my feet were finished as my sister in law text me to say Nix was asleep.

Kaz, i would be going back on the vitamins just to see what happens. I got some more today, so :fingerscrossed: Nix will start sleeping a bit better soon.

MD, where are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shae, i hope Connor isn't getting sick :hugs:

Hello!

Got back from hols on sat.. but when I tried to log on my puter was broken, so the guy came and fixed it today, thank god!

Sorry only read from yesterday lunchtime, way too much to catch up on.

HIGA - you poor thing!!! I hope you haven't done any permanent damage to your back? Did the doc check you over today at work?? Hope you feel better soon hun xx

love the pics mica!

jayney, im still trying to work out the zoints thing. for some reason it wont let me add any interests at all. anyone?

Mica - me too! Shes a QT!!

Please don't mention the Zoints thingy.. I haven't even looked at starting mine yet :shame: .. I truly need to put aside some time to do it!!

Well done all the kiddies who are talking and crawling. Faith is really only saying 'dada'. She has a teething rash around her mouth, but the CHN told me today that she still thinks her teeth may be at least be another week or so from cutting thru though. Poor mite. She has been a little cranky the last couple of days, and chucks a complete hissy fit whenever I want to change her nappy... anyone else's bub doing this?? My saving grace is that she is still sleeping well at night anywhere from 6.30/7pm - 6am. Still not crawling, but closer now, she gets up on all fours and rocks, so shouldn't be too long now.

It's great when they do in a lot of ways, but also scary, cos that's when they get into HEAPS of mischief!!!

Hmmm just looking around the house.. I can definitely wait!! lol
still no teeth or crawling for the conman. dh and i are going away for a night on Friday for our anniversary. going to be sad leaving my baby for the night but dh and i really really need the time alone. he is driving me insane lately!!he keeps coming home and acting like a child and when i tell him i need and adult to come home he says 'but im only 22, not 40'. so he thinks his immaturity is fine.
SNAP! Faith is the same! Have a great time away Friday night. Where are you off to? My husbands 33 and can still be very immature, so don't hold your breath babe!!

Seek - hope you feel better soon! Way to go on taking the day off, you need to look after yourself xx

Kel - sorry, I got a message in my inbox saying that you tried to PM me, but my inbox was full. Have now cleaned it out!!

Mell - hope you enjoyed your pedicure.. aren't they just bliss!! Got your letter re the book chain. Will get onto it asap! Thanks for including me xx

MD - still on for the 5th?? :smiliedance:

Kaz, we had faith in her cot in our room for a couple of months and then transferred her into her own room. It took a week or so for her to adjust to her own room, but now she's great. However, she hates going down in there during the day.. cries and carries on, so sometimes I just put her on our bed and she goes off no worries. At night, she just self settles and goes off to the land of nod, no problem. Ha, go figger! Good luck with it babe.

Anyways gotta go and organise some dinner. Hopefully back later on. So good to be back!!!

Hi ladies!

What time does your bubbies go to sleep.

Nixie has dinner and water about 5:30/6pm, bath around 6/6:30pm and her bottle about 10 or 15 minutes before bedtime at 7pm. She doesn't feed again until breakfast, but if it's hot and she wakes and won't go back to sleep, I'll offer her some water.

i got the house finished! yay - 7 huge bags went to lifeline and 4 went in the bin

Good on you with the house! What have you been buying from ebay? Jayneys twins?

cant atm, my digital was stolen last time and my video camera went this time so no photo's or video's from me for a while

OMG!!! I told you I was a susan, foot firmly in mouth here. Sorry, that was really insensitive of me! :shame:

My saving grace is that she is still sleeping well at night anywhere from 6.30/7pm - 6am.

At least one July bubba is being consistent with sleep! I suspect some of the other mums might want to swap with you...

Seek - hope you feel better!

Higa - bloody hell, that's a fall! Hope you feel better too. Make sure you see one of your Dr friends if your foot or back don't get better. It sounds very painful :hugs: .

Mell - lucky duck with your pedi! How is the elimination diet going? Was dairy the only issue so far?

Well, off to cook dinner. Hello to all  xxx

Have a restful day Nikki, are you enjoying being back at work?
Depends on what you mean by enjoy.
I love my job, it is very fulfilling and just perfect for me.. however I don't enjoy 5 days a week, or simply being away from my boy.

Nikki get off the computer and go to bed! hope you feel better soon hun
hahaha I did!! heehee and I do feel MUCH better this afternoon

still no teeth or crawling for the conman. he is however getting sick i think.
:hugs:

What time does your bubbies go to sleep.
 you mean they're meant to have a set time? :p Sometimes I get the boy down around 7pm.. but most of the time it's more 9 or something even 10!! He's dropping his third nap.. but sometimes he chooses to use 6.30 - 7.30 as a nap *sigh*

im in agony. im injured!
You poor little dear!!! :hugs:

Seek, how did your day go, i hope you got some rest. I bet your house was quite today.
I had 1.5 hours of uninterrupted daytime nap... and how I miss Dr Phil, Judge Judy and Oprah.. my old Daytime friends.

Yer so far it has just been the dairy that he has had a reaction to, but we haven't introduce egg yet. I am going to do that on Monday. I will introduce it into my diet for 3 days by just having them in things, like picklets, then if he is fine after 3 days, i can try eggs on toast and see how he goes with it. If he is fine with that then i can keep on eating egg. :fingerscrossed:

Mason is 7 1/2 months and is getting into EVERYTHING- his favourite thing at the moment is shimmie-ing (not yet crawling properly) over to the coffee table to open up the drawers- cute but it makes me nervous! Do most of all your babies crawl yet? I am getting worried that Mason doesn't....think he might jut be lazy!

dinner was norty! we had pizza (not good for my diet) though i stuck to one slice. was tempted for the 2nd though, but refrained.

Well done on the restraint! So lovely to hear about Lina being well. One of my mothers groups bubs (also july bub) just had german measles! She sent some photos of her and she's covered in spots but laughing her head off, happy as larry. Gosh babies are tough hey?

Yer so far it has just been the dairy that he has had a reaction to, but we haven't introduce egg yet.

Good luck with the eggs! Pikelets, yum...

I read yesterday that if you put a sticker on their hand, it keeps them distracted long enough to change their nappy.. am yet to try this one thou!!

I like that one, hadn't heard it before. Might try that myself. ATM I always have to have something to distract her or she's flipped and crawling off the end of the drawers, into the hamper, before I can blink!

I forgot to say, Nixie has worked out the spoon better today. Previously I used to give her a little food on a spoon and she would bang it around so all the food fell off before putting it in her mouth (sooo messy). Today though she kept putting it straight in her mouth most times, with the food still on. She's also getting better at waving goodbye when we say it. Usually she only does it at home, not when I try get her to show grandma  . Likes making a liar of me. Still no mum yet though *sigh*.

Hmmm, we seem to be missing some july mums - would they get a notice that the thread had moved?

Pip doesn't "properly" crawl yet... but she's pretty darn close.... the legs work but she can't quite work out the balance to get the arms to go too... her own technique, sort of worm like, pulling with her arms and pushing off with her toes is pretty effective.... she loves to open the drawers in the tv unit too....

I only joined this thread last month! It was hard at first getting all the names/usernames/babies names straight, but they are right - they chat heaps! So just log on regularly and you'll soon get to know everyone. Bugger another Brisbanite. I am the only Vic representative here, so I have to wistfully listen to all the meet ups they have in qld and wa! But do go to one of the Bris catch ups, you'll love it. Or take a trip to Melbourne to see me...

Nixie is crawling which is a double edged sword. Am off to a safety talk with mothers group tomorrow. Will probably be attaching my furniture to the roof by tomorrow. Quite a few bubs on here are traveling but not hands/knees and a few other aren't interested at all, too much else is exciting! General consensus is they all get there in their own time.

Nixie started this, then seemed to forget about it. Now she's taken it to another level and follows me when I leave the room. Not all the time though, so I always get a surprise when I try to duck into another room and find her underfoot! They change so bloody quick, I can't keep up...

it's funny to watch them trying to crawl hey! Mason uses his massive head to hold his weight while he gets his knees and arms into position ready for take off but then just rocks back and forth and goes no where! If i had my way he'd stay immobile forever i think!

I give Pip her spoon after she's finished a meal with a little left on it... she's pretty cluey about the spoon mouth connection.... today she wanted the empty bowl.... kept putting the spoon in it hoping some more food would appear.... sometimes I think she's too clever for her own good!!! The tarot lady said she was an old soul!

Kaz, does she have any push off 'wounds' on her toes? B got a blister on the big toe on her right foot! It worried DH and I more than it did her, I think!!!

She occassionally has a little blister on her little toe which I imagine is from that... doesn't worry her either....

Anyhoo I'm gonna make it to bed before midnight tonight!!

Oh MY LORD - Knock me off me comfy perch with a deadset big-bum feather (as opposed to a big bum-feather!)

A new July Mummy FROM ME VERY OWN SOUTH BURNETT!!!!!!!!

Going to take me a while to get over that!

Welcome M2M (a dodgy bunch they are but stick with me and you'll be right!)

One of them is a ballerina you know, and she did a special edition late night show right here in Murgon once upon a time, true story, just ask Mmascore!!

Anyway -

HI!!!!

I still have iiiiiissseeewwwws so still not really around, but just missed you all too much - had to pop in and say Hi

Tip for the first timers while I think of it - now bubs is crawling, teach them how to do backwards. That is to say sit on the couch with bubba and put something on the floor that they want - when they try and get down turn them and emphasise "go backwards" - just keep saying it again and again etc - REALLY good to teach them about getting down stairs safely

HIGA - bet you fell a over t and your hair STILL looked perfect!

Anyway - must go again - lots of love to you all and welcome newbies

X O X

PS - can't WAIT till Mon - can someone pm me hotels near where the meet is or ones in Bris that they strongly recommend - need to book somewhere and it is nice to know what is nice iykwim!

Night Night

OMG have you lot not heard of a chat room???????

Hi M to M nice to have another newbie, looks like you are fitting in with our prize chatterboxes just nicely:thumbsup:

Mr P is teething and in so much pain, my quiet little boy has disappeared only to be replaced by a very vocal upset chappy who wont have a sleep, (bugger!), and thrashes around in his cot when he does.

I'm getting a bit envious of the brissie meetups too! Hey any NSW peeps up for a small meet (I can only do tuesday and friday now as E has swimming on Monday)

Hope you enjoyed your day seek, sounds like heaven!

Anyway better post this and go to bed.

Renee- i was just looking at your photos, your bubba is very cute! Mason does the exact same thing in his cot and ends up at the end with his bum up in the air- too cute. but he usually ends up waking up and crying so i've been getting up nearly every hour most nights....very tiring!!
