Fertility Friend Says....

My calendar says I should have ovulated yesterday, however for the past 5 days I have been using OPK's and I have not show a surge.

Any ideas or has anyone had this happen. My cycles have been spot on since I started charting, I have AF on the exact day it predicts. Not sure if its just that I just don't read on an OPK or what.

You may have a really short surge. some ladies need to test twice a day or they would miss their surge on the OPK.

Do you temp? - I found it to be the only way I would not second guess O.. (well O.K, I still second Guess!)

Crystal, did you have any other fertility signs - ewcm, high, soft and open cervix, etc?? You may just not have ovulated yet. Like Em said, you may have short surge...are you getting any second line on the opks, even faint? I would suggest temping if youre not already as thats the only surefire way you're going to know if you've O'd or not. Sorry if thats not much help...keep bd'ing just in case! :)

I haven't been checking my CM actually, and can you see your cervix?? :confused: Ok I might seem really dumb, but I had no clue, or is it feel? I don't know if I would be able to know what a soft or open. Might have to google it!

I haven't been temping. We never even worried about it when we were ttc with Ethan.

I better start figuring this out if I want to up my chances! Thanks girlies!

Crystal, no, cant see your cervix unless you use a speculum and mirror (which Im not game to do! :laughing: ), but you can certainly feel it. It takes a bit of practice, but if you google it, you will get some good tips on the best way to do it. One thing tho: do it the same time everyday because it moves during the day as well...slippery little sucker! You may not even need to start checking it tho if you monitor your cm.

I can understand why you dont temp - it does make you obssess a bit more, but at the same time its really good to know exactly when you O. That parts really easy - ff has good instructions on it.

SO I checked my CM, and yesterday before bed it was EWCM like. But DH was already in bed and I've been feeling ill, so we didn't BD. However we did BD the night before. I am :fingerscrossed: that it was enough to get the eggie.


Will keep checking CM to see if I have any other, all of this is soo new to me!

Sounds good Crystal...keep bd'ing whenever you get that ewcm...it might take a couple of cycles (if you dont get pg by then! :) ) to get used to checking everything, but it helps! Hope you're feeling better!!
