i know what you mean. I have an almost four month old and feel like i am about to go insane from boredom. I use to work excessively before he was born and now, for the last five months i have done nothing but sit around at home...

Hi there ladies, :D
Me too! bored, bored and ho hum, bored...I have just moved from NSW to the sunshine coast and I am playing the waiting game for employment .( I am a teacher)...my 3 year old goes to care 5 days a week :( I know some would say why don't I keep him at home with me??? yes, I would love that, but if I do that, and then I get fulltime employment I have to go back onto a waiting list and as everyone knows all centres have long waiting lists even for parents looking for employment who do get priority, so iI decided to send him 5 days if the hope that employment will come my way soon...so in the meantime, here I sit, at the computer having great chats with you all out there, there is do much housework a girl can do!
Anyone live near Chancellor Park? Maybe we could get together for a coffee??? :)
keep happy,
Possum

Hi All,
I'm so sorry to hear you all say that you are bored staying at home with your children. I was working as a registered nurse before maternity leave and don't miss it at all. I had trouble trying to get pregnant and I don't know if that makes me appreciate spending all of my time with my daughter, but being a stay at home mum is what you make it. If you're getting bored at home, don't stay at home all day, join a play group, go to the library, park or zoo, or join a craft/activity group. There is heaps to do even with children in toe if you're prepared to look for it. If you live somewhere new and don't know people you have to make an effort to get out there and meet people. I do go out a lot, swimming lessons every week, craft/playgroup every fortnight and visiting people in between. I am very lucky to have lots of friends and family closeby. But the days I love the most are the ones that I stay home, forget about the housework and just play with my daughter or cook something (she loves watching and helping out). Enjoy everyday you get to spend with your children, they are precious miracles. I have so much I want to get done (photo albums, finishing the baby book etc) and haven't had the time, I don't really understand how people can say they are bored. Life and motherhood is what you make it so get out there and start enjoying life and your children. :)

hi there,
yep, know what you mean. I am new here cause i just found it! I was also bored a lot of the time when bubs was asleep and hated doing housework. we play in the yard, go to playgroup, swimming lessons etc but still every now and then get bored. So i started working from home!! YAY!! something to do! now, i work when my son is asleep and he helps with the house work (well sometimes!) So, when he does go off to care for the social interaction 2 days per week, i will have something to keep me going. This is great because it gets me adult interaction as well.
So there you go, my suggestion-why not start up a business from home?? it's easy!!

Would love to hear from you

Hi Emmas,

I too am very eager to start up my own business from home, but I just can't seem to find the right direction. I have secretarial experience, but everything I find seems to be only for selling herbal products.

However, I can't say I am bored looking after my daughter, never a dull moment. She is only 9 weeks old though.

I am a stay at home mum too. My husband and I started a home business so we could both stay at home with the kids.

We are actually looking for mother's in Southeast Queensland to help us expand. Basically, we need people to run market stalls for us in the big markets, like Southbank, Eumundi, etc.

We would provide all of the stock (footwear) and all you would need to do is be there and sell our boots. Other than a bit of your time, there is no risk or cost to you (maybe petrol)!

If you are interested please let me know!

Hi All

Being a SAHM and just moving to Sydney has been a great journey. Our little Dan is 13 months now and just loves to go out and about. We've joined a local Playgroup which has been fun and I've noticed that most mums are making their way back to part-time work and therefore, not as available for catch ups. Are there any SAHM's out there in the Warringah precinct that would like to catch up for coffee and chats?

I've been considering p/t work just for social aspect - money helpful too!
