Hi all - I am still really nervous about not having enough symptoms, so thinking of having a scan this week. I was 7 weeks yesterday, which only puts fetus age at 5 weeks - is this too early.
Who has heard a heartbeat this early?

With DD i had a scan at 6 weeks (so fetus age 4 weeks) and there was a heart beat. Also with my last pregnancy there was also a heart beat at 6 weeks - a pity it had stopped beating by nine
But i think they usually expect to see a heartbeat at at least 7 weeks.

You should be able to see a heartbeat at 7 weeks. We saw our DS's at 6w2d with an internal ultrasound.
the earliest i've seen a heart beat was at 5wks and 5 days, usually at around 6wks gest the heart starts beating, so you will definatly see one when you go, unless you've got your dates wrong

Thanks so much all - I spoke to my GP and told her how scared I was and she understood completely and faxed me a referral ten minutes later. I then spoke to the hospital and they originally said there wasn't a spot for three weeks, but when I told them how worried and upset I was, they booked me in for this Thursday before work. Bless them!
Thank goodness, now just have my :fingerscrossed: (and toes) for a good strong heartbeat.
