Hey all,
I have decided that I am going to do the meal replacement diet, the formula that you make up and drink instead of having a meal,i feel that i havnt got any options left and that this is the only way im going to get what i want.I need to do this for my children and my family but most of all myself.I want to be healthy and look good and take pride in my body but right now i dont have any.I will still be eating some salads and fruits in between the drink/meals.The drink has all the replacement minerals and vitamins that your body needs.

At the moment i weigh 71kg and 155cm tall and my % body fat is around the 28% mark.My goal weight is 55kg i think that is a healthy weight but i will be happy if i lose 10kg.

If anyone has any information about this sort of diet please post for me ill be very
greatful but if no-one knows anything about it i might google TIA.

So everyone wish me luck, and may i have the strength to do this:yes:

Tony Fergusons has one (just go to any Terry White Chemist .. ) - although I didn't look where you live .. sorry!!

they run the program with you .. you get weighed there (in private) and measured .. and they monitor your weightloss..

DH and I are doing it... in three weeks .. I've lost just less than three kilos (doing the diet in a half arsed manner) and he is doing it properly .. and has lost about 10 kgs in three weeks ..

I find that the breakfast is the easiest to replace .. so I just eat ok meals at the other times - and it seems to be working for me ...

good luck
xx

Jac - Check out breastfeeding and using meal replacements before you jump in and do it. I'd be seriously on Tony Ferguson if it wasn't for the wee one attached to my boobs.

♥Heaven Sent♥
20-02-2007, 16:06
Seekrit -I will be asking about it dont worry,im sure it will be fine anyway because you have all the vitamins and minerals in the drink anyway and you still eat 1 meal a day plus fruit and veg in between meals.

Edited to add my doctor recommended me to do it i don't think she would have recommended me to do it if she thought it wasn't good for bf.

its hard. and it really isnt healthy. safe weight loss is of 500 grams to one kilo a week.

I have tried many diets. just be wary that stuff like this, the weight usually comes back with company.

it also really goes of body shape and bone structure. my 'ideal' weight for height is 54- 68 kilos. big bloody gap. you cant have a bigger frame and expect to be wafer thin. it would look odd.

Lirael
20-02-2007, 16:12
just had to add, a body fat of 28 % is not bad. you should be only really wanting to get that down to 25 %

sorry to triple post...

Can I go on Tony Fergusons if I am pregnant or breast feeding?

Women who are pregnant or breast feeding are unable to go on our program as there isn't sufficient energy and nutrients to sustain both mother and baby.

I know what weight i should be,my bone structure is actually quite small and light, and i always have been skinny, until i got diabetes 7 yrs ago,i have looked in to things and to me the positives out way the negetives.

Lirael
20-02-2007, 16:19
well ok. good luck.

I cant tell you what to do, though I would be concerned about the breastfeeding thing. perhaps you could eat a little more than they say so it doesnt affect feeding?

ETA I didnt mean you have a big bone structure I was talking in general. just so you know, dont wanna offend

Hey Jac!

Just want to say well done for wanting to be more healthy :D

Also, with the Meal Replacements... they do work as long as you stick to them but also, once your at your goal you will have to learn to eat helthy and incorporate exercise to keep it off...Otherwise it will come back on if you go back to your old eating habits...

So maybe while you're on the meal replacements, just do your research on what you should be eating in order to maintain your weight so you're prepared at the end of it :)

After i had peter i weighed 82kgs....that was AFTER i lost all my blood, fluid etc... before peter i was 70kg...

So i went on weight watchers and lost that 12kg in 3 mths... im glad i did it as it has taught me how to eat healthy and what to do to maintain my weight...

1 and a half years later im only 73kg... so ive managed it pretty well :)

Just a handy hint ;)

I was always 60 kilos or under. its so overwhelming to me. hence the depression about my weight.

and 41 kilos aint healthy if you mean you went from 41-71?

I have put on 36 kilos. went from 60-96. now stuck at almost 86

Jac, dont compare yourself to when you were 13 hunny... you weren't even completely developed as a woman hun!!!

You will never be as small as you were when you were 13.... but i think its good your setting a realistic goal of 10kg

Good luck with Jenny Craig! I think it's far better to be using that than TF or meal replacements for that matter.

The whole reason why TF manages to get people to lose weight is that it is so low-calorie and low-carb that your body goes into a mild starvation mode and therefore eats the fat from your body. It takes about 2 days of the process to begin, so if you even MILDLY stuff up, then that's 2 days wasted. It also can't be too healthy on your body to be in a mild starvation mode!

Hopefully Jenny Craig will teach you good eating habits which you can continue AFTER you lose the weight. I'm on Lite n Easy, which is different to Jenny Craig, but I do believe it's a similar concept. I've been on LNE for 3 weeks and already lost over 6kg (without much in the way of exercise or anything either).

Good luck, and good on you for doing it the HEALTHY way.
