TTC while breastfeeding and no AF?

I am just wondering if there are others out there in BubHub land that have fallen pregnant whilst breastfeeding and before AF has returned?

DH and I would love to fall pregnant with #2 but my AF has not returned and i am still breastfeeding DS. He does have a fomula feed before bed but b/f's for all other feeds.

I don't want to completely wean DS for another 4 months so that's out of the question. Is there anything else i should be doing to improve my chances?

Sorry, not too many answers here either.
I got preg again after my af had returned.

There is more chance of it returning though the more you cut back on the feeds. From about 6months I cut back one feed every couple of months, leading up to 12months, when he was fully weaned.
I'm by no means saying to stop feeding but generally you do cut back as it gets closer to weaning. Hope that makes sense!!

I had no period for the first two years of breastfeeding DD, so I'm no help..
but reduction of feeding ( usually initiated by your childs growth and eating solids etc) tends to bring your cycle back. If you don't have a cycle back yet then there's no egg being produced to fertilize so you may have to hang in there till it does. Best of luck with the TTC ... :D :D

You can still fall pregnant even if your are b/f and your AF hasn't returned. I know of 4 different friends that this happened to.
They didn't when they ovulated but managed to bd right at the right time. So my advice is bd in the middle of your cycle and see what happens.

I recently asked a Q about breastfeeding and pregnancy and JanetF gave me a link to a really interesting website (thanks Janet!) that has some relevant info. I don't have the exact link, but the website was kellymom.com (or something like that) and they had some stuff that was new to me about fertility and breastfeeding. Also, a google search will usually reveal something. Good luck with it!
