Hi All Doulas,
I think I have made up my mind that I would like a doula for my next birth and I need some help to find one.
I had a very difficult labour with DS and can't go through all of that again. I need support and guidance with this next birth in order to get the result I am after.
Can anybody reccomend a doula or trainee doula in the Perth area that I can contact??
Thanks in advance!

Hi Money Felix
Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
I'm a DONA (Doulas of North America) fully certified doula working in and around the northern suburbs (although I can travel a little further out) and would be happy to chat with you. Have a look at my website - it gives all sorts of information about my service, statistics, etc. The web address is www.freewebs.com/doulajane. This also gives all my contact details if you'd like to email or call.
If we don't get to talk, just remember that EVERY birth is different, and with the right support you can have a great birth experience!
Take care!

Hi Monyfelix,
I am Cathy Cook and I am with Australian Doulas (www.australiandoulas.com.au (http://www.australiandoulas.com.au)). You can view my profile on our website. Unfortunately I have a "disappearing profile" - when you go to the section showing our profiles you won't see my photo. However, if you click on one of the other doulas, a list of doulas will then show up on the right hand side and you will see my name, you can then click on my name and up will come my profile! Sorry it is so complicated - our webmistress is trying to fix.
I am south of the river. I would love to talk to you if you would like to give me a call - my number is listed with my profile.
All the best :)

Hi Monyfelix
Hooray for you in taking control of your birth experience and arranging all the support you will need for that.
:yelclap:
I have completed all of my training as a doula with Australian Doulas and have worked as a back up for some experienced doulas - this means that i have been along to meetings but have not been required for the actual birth(i was available just in case!)
Under our Code of Conduct once we have completed all of our training we need to assist 2 births as a trainee doula and as such can only charge for expenses (to a max of $100).
So if you are looking for a trainee doula to support you then i would love to discuss this with you. I am very keen to help.
You can check out my profile on the australian doulas website (Sharon Milne) and my contact details are there too.
Hope to talk to you.
Good luck with whatever path you choose!
