I bought a cake mix from the shop the other day and I have all the ingredients at home (which is good) but it says I have to use an electric mixer which I don't have, my question is do I HAVE to use an electric mixer OR will it be ok if I just use a fork or something and vigourasly (sp) mix it that way?

Ok thanks for that, if it doesn't work it was only a $2 cake mix anyway.

If you are going to bake it in the oven, it might just not rise as much.

As kids, mum always used to buy the no-name cake mixes and we'd just mix them up with a fork and cook them in the microwave. If we used the beaters, they'd rise too much and end up all through the microwave! (just a note - if you want to cook it in the microwave, just add a little extra milk to the mix, and that will help keep the cake moist, and stop it from turning into rubber)
