Hi all,
This is my first post.
I was pregnant on 13/10 - level of 13. I got sore breasts immediatley.
On 15th I spotted and my levels went down to 9. On the 17th I had old bleeding for 8 days. About two weeks after that my HCG level went up to 23 and I experienced sore breasts all the way through.
I still haven't had a period. I had an ultra sound a couple of weeks ago to see if I had any matter left inside me. Nothing showed up.
I had a new blood test on Wednesday 23/11 and my HCG level was 30!!! The week before I did two home pregnancy tests (HPT) and they were both negative.
I did HPT on Friday 25th Nov and got a faint positive and I did another HPT on Sat 26th and got a much stronger positive.
I got up today (27th Nov) and I had a slight discolouration - old blood - so I went to the hospital and they did another blood test - HCG is now 5.
I still have sore breasts and large veins have now appeared and I am exhausted!
WHAT IS GOING ON???
Any help would be much appreciated.
Since my period in September I have not had a proper period.
Any help would be much appreciated.

(((((HUGS))))) I'm so sorry you have been let down so much over the past month :(
I always thought the levels had to be over 100 for you to be pregnant. My levels were over 1000 at 5 weeks
I'm so sorry I'm no help to you :(

I am so frustrated. Nobody will say for sure what is going on!
I don't understand how my levels can keep bouncing around.
I was told today 5 and under is considered not pregnant and anything over 5 is pregnant and the level doubles every other day!
The two things that are upsetting me the most about this is that I haven't had a proper period so I can't try and get pregnant again, and I am experiencing pregnancy symptoms after a miscarriage!

Thanks :D ....
Kate, how awful for you. :( I'm sorry I can't help either, but do you think it might be worth checking that you haven't had an ectopic pregnancy? Maybe now that your levels are so low, the pregnancy has run its course and your body will get back to normal.. but I think sometimes if your levels are staying up but there's nothing showing in the uterus it could be that something is in the tube?
I guess your doc would have checked this out already but thought it worth mentioning. I hope it sorts itself out soon so you can start trying again.

Kate- how confusing you poor darling, i agree with cosmic it could be an eptopic pregnancy, when the fetus starts its life in the follopian tube but can continue to grow. Maybe is worth going to a diffrent doctor to get a second opinon, try a bulk billing practise to keep you cost down, best of luck in finding out.
Hi Kate. It does sound very confusing, you poor thing.
I thought that to be pregnant your hormone levels were supposed to be over 50? I had a test last week to confirm pregnancy, and I looked at the test results afterwards and they said - Test for HCG Levels > 50 = Positive pregnancy.
Anyway, I'm now 5 wks and had another test done last Friday. My HCG was 143 which is apparently on the "lower side" as the doctor put it.
Maybe as Firstbub suggested, you could go and see a different doctor. It's awful not knowing what's going on.
Good luck!! Let us know how you go

My thoughts are ectopic as Cosmic said, but still would think they would be higher than 5 to be pregnant at all. Maybe you have some hormonal stuff going on that is giving you a reading?????
Hi I had a chem m/c at 4wks 5days in May. I was also over the moon at finally being pregnant then it all came crashing down...I got +ve at 7DPO and a beta#56 at 10DPO and then 12DPO it was down to a Beta@26 so I was left to just M/c. the stupid Gyn was giving me Provera which causes Defects so dont just think they know all cos he's a Dr he stuffed up bigtime.. THEY really make mistakes!! Go to a new obs/gyn if yours is not explaining it all to you...Im so sorry this is happening to you but you need to not feel alone and go and get some help as they say JUST DO IT!! You will feel must better having it all explained to you. Etopic from PP would result in the up and downs but I've also heard of others numbers going up and down as it establishes..but under100 means you dont have too high a level to play between.
I really feel for you in this situation...know that many women have m/c's I know that is no consolation to for yours but know you are not alone in this. Also when its early is mostly cos of a one of chromosome problem (bodies natural way of eliminating major defects that happen on the dividing) or hormone imbalance which needs to be check by the Dr !If he did your progesterone and it was over 10 then hormones werent it!
Hope this helps some what!!
Take care PM me if you need any support!
