Hi i have some lovely steaks thawing and would love to do something nice with them instead of just frying them. Any ideas?

Are they thinnish type steak such as topside? If so, you can chop up a heap of vegies such as carrot, zucchini and red capsicum match-stick style (julienne if you want to sound professional!) and place them in the middle of each steak. Roll them up and tie up with a bit of cooking string. Cook them in a sauce or gravy of some sort until the vegies are soft and steak is the way you like it (similar to poaching). Heat the remaining sauce and add a bit of cornflour to thicken if needed and serve over rolled steaks as a finishing sauce. (I do have a recipe if you need it..)

that sounds yummy, with that recipie what you can do is make up some stuffing (like you would for a chicken) and put it in the middle of the thin steak, roll up and hold with a tooth pick, and cook in a gravy, its absolutly devine, they are called beef olives
