On the Pill

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering can you still fall pregnant being on the pill. Last month when I had my periods it was a day late then what it was meant to be. I have not missed a day probably for bout 2mths know. Can someone please help me?

Two of my friends fell pregnant whilst on the pill, but only after they had been sick, therefore the pill was not absorbed properly. If you haven't been sick in the first half of your cycle and take the pill at the same time each day, I think it's pretty safe.

I am pregnant and I was on the pill :D And I don't mind at all, she has just come sooner then originally planned!

A few people I have met have also got pregnant on the pill and it was the same one I was using called Yasmin...My DB thinks it's a conspiricy! (sp)

Thanks for your reply. No I haven't been sick but I actually don't take the pill at the same time each day. I will wait and see what happens next month with my cycle before I do anything though.

It doesn't have to be that you are really sick for the cycle not to work - all it takes is one bout of diarrhea. As well as what the others have said about taking it at the same time each day. Also some types work better for some girls (combined pills -v- mini pills). Best to check with your GP. :)

Yep O is here as a result of falling while on the pill!

I am still on the pill but we also take other precautions as I no longer trust the pill LOL ;)

I fell pregnant on the pill! I was taking Levlen ED, didn't miss a day, wasn't sick, wasn't on antibiotics. Bit of a surprise there! Though I wouldn't swap my beautiful DS for anything!

I'm another one of these mums that fell pregnant on the pill - no sickness, diarrohea, no excessive Vit C, no antibiotics etc - suffice to say that DD was a suprise, definately the best one I've ever had!!

I was on exactly the same pill, never missed and never sick. DS just wanted to be here BADLY!!! ;)
No contraception is 100%, so even when taken correctly there is always a slight chance.

I was on Levlen ED but they had to change it. Know I am on Microgynom 50 ED.
This morning I just don't feel to good. But I ain't going to worry myself though. I will wait until I get my next cycle or don't.

Should I stop taking the pill?
I was going to stop taking it in the New Year as we were planning for another baby then. But then we changed it until after the wedding.

Hi Taddy, suprise suprise, i fell pregnant on the pill too, i was on momofeme, and i found out after 2 periods!! I never missed a pill and i religously took it every day, thats why i was so shock to find out i was expecting, but no contaception is 100%. I too was planning on trying after the new year but im a little confused as i was to get married and we are building our house which will take about a year, atm we are living with the brother in law and i dont what to be pregnate here as its quite obvious what has been happening! :o and having a newborn or being close to given birth around the time of moving into our house i dont think is a good idea! Is so confused!

I also was on the pill when I conceived. I was taking Juliette ED and I was expecting AF to turn up but it didn't and lo and behold three positive HPTs. I do think that the anti depressants that I was on a few months beforehand had something to do with it.

Hi Natasha,
If you want to stop taking it, just wait until the end of your cycle. Otherwise it could stuff you up a bit.

I didn't get my period when I got pregnant on the pill. I'm pretty sure it is just like when your not on it, there are always some that still get it and some that don't?? :rolleyes:
