Hi guys,

Hope your all getting things organised for the upcoming semester!:fingerscrossed:

I on the other hand am in a bit of a predicament. I have been accepted into teaching and have completed some units before, hence applied for academic credit. This was about 4 weeks ago.
I have contacted the lady who is in charge of my course and she couldnt have been any ruder. She had put my credit application through to someone else.

I contacted his secretary yesterday who informed me he would call me back, that was at about 11am. I am still waiting.

Its just such a worry that these people can be so carefree about someones education. And therefore their life!!!:banghead:
Has anyone else expereinced problems with their external degree? by the way I am at James Cook Uni, so not sure if its just them.

At this stage I have enrolled in an elective unit (and its not the right one) and have no idea what subjects I am suppose to study this semester, which consquently means I have no subject outlines or textbooks. So will start the year it seems behind schedule.

Sorry, but its getting to be a worry and concerning me as to whether I should be studying with this uni.(pity though thats the only course offered externally, its new this year)

Sorry you're having such trouble.
I work for a university and I guess all I can say is that during February every man and his dog wants a peice of you because every one is trying to get organised....so it is very hard to get things done in the kind of timeframes that people expect.

The best thing I can suggest to you is that you be super super nice, and persistent.
At this time of year my phone literally rings all day long with students wanting things and I'm ashamed to say that the ones who are really rude to me I deliberately push down the pile - while the ones who are nice and try to be a bit more understanding will always get help the quickest. Not saying you were rude or pushy, just a tip :)
Just keep calling and keep being really nice and I'm sure it will get sorted for you as soon as they can :)
