I just had to share this with all you dog owners..
I have been having alot of trouble walking my dog and DD at the same time as Laila pulles so hard she nearly pulls the pram over:shame: . So i have had to take Laila for a walk after DD has gone to sleep....
Until....
I was watching that show "It's me or the dog" and the trainer on there (i forgot her name but she is amazing) uses this collar which looks like a horse halter.
Anyway...I finally bit the bullet and got one ($39.99 for a large size:eek: , havent told DH how much yet)
Its called a 'Gentle Leader' and comes with an instructional DVD to tell you how to fit it properly.
I took Laila for a walk lastnight and it was AMAZING:smiliedance: , she was so well behaved and didnt pull at all...Totally different dog....
Even when the bl**dy dogs down the road jump their fence and chased us, she just ignored them and kept walking with me...
I have to reccomend this to everyone.its great

Sounds just like what I need for my two terrors! Can I ask where you got that from and what type of dog you have that fits into the large?

Hi,
There are a few brands on the market and most vet clinics sell them , I love them.

I just got mine from the local pet shop...and Laila is a Boxer cross so she is large.
It tells you what size you would need for each breed on the back of the packet...
I'm off now for a walk with the pram AND Laila...

jay HATES his.. he just goes Crazy when I put his on, he scratches and paws at it untill he can use his paws to drag the nose part off his Muzzle. I thought it was the wrong size, but my Vet assured me it was the correct fit.. He just wont walk with it.. He wont tollarate it on. Even hotdogs/cheese bits dont distract him from his mission of getting the darn thing off.. I wish it worked for us, cause Jay is a Puller..

Hi Girls,
My furry baby is a 55kg male Rottie and has always been dominated by is nose when we're on our walks. He's always been a 'pully' dog even though there is no agression at all in his lunges. Just wants to make friends with every other pooch we pass. He's even been beat up by a little aussie terrier. He was very upset indeed.
I found this harness http://www.ozpetshop.com.au/product_info.php/products_id/1241 after trying unsuccessfully with head collars, which he hated and normal harnesses that just made the problem worse. Rotties were originally bread for carting & hearding and so they have a very deep instinct to pull but this thing was seriously worth the money for me, as I can now walk my pooch on my own with almost no need to pull the lead back and he doesn't pull at all!

Oh my gosh Lil, that harness looks fab! We used the Halti on our old cattle dog successfully, but my boy now won't have a bar of it (or the gentle leader, which i like better out of the two), he scrapes at it continually, trying to get it off. I've had no luck distracting him even with his fave liver treats!
I'm gonna look at getting one of those now, thanks!
No worries at all Shazbutt. I tried absolutely everything (including the liver treats etc etc) but had no where near the results I had with this thing. It's really gentle on the pooches as well. There's little sheepskin covers on the straps that go underneath their armpits (do dogs have armpits??). So cute.
Good luck!
P.S. I am not a sales rep for this company!!! :D Seriously! Just thought it was a great product and it really helped me.
