Hi there,

We are struggling to decide on a name for our baby which is now a few days overdue. So we desperately need help......NOW!!!

We would like something a bit unusual or not so common.

Here are some of our ideas.
Boys
Rylan, Asher, Kylan, Kyan, Byron, Kai

Girls
Jessenia, Skyla, Kyra, Tora, Makeisha, Aneisha, Kyla, Kiara, Addison, Shayla, Ella

I guess you can sort of see some sort of theme (idea) about what we are looking for.

Any combo ideas (first name, middlename) would be great.

Thanks!

Desperate Mum

By the way we already have a Jayden Riley born Feb '02

there are 2 Ashers and 1 Byron at our playgroup! Asher is really gaining in popularity, I like all of them, particulary Asher and Kylan :)

for the girls I like Ella, although if you want something not very common, that too is fast becoming very popular, Jessenia and Tora are quite nice too :)
good luck, im sure when you meet your bubs it will help you decide :)

Love Jessenia and Kai.
We had a Kai at a centre I worked at, he was the most beautiful child.
Sorry, I'm not very good at doing combos, we just pick the first name and found a family name for the second. Sorry. :)

I like the sound of Asher Kai or Byron Kai together, though I guess it depends on your surname too.
And for a girl,I love Ella,though it's everywhere now. :)

I have a 16 yr old daughter named Camielle & we have never come across another at school, sport, dancing, friends or anywhere. It is beautiful and very unique without being unusual. As you can see I changed the spelling from the original Camille as well, I just like it better. Good luck with your baby naming.

I love Skyla for a girl and Kyan or Byron (DH wants Byron, if we have another boy bub :) ) for a boy.

Good luck choosing!

So true!! Dh & I have had that picked since we got married 5 yrs ago. It wasn't common at all then but now it's everywhere... we are still gonna use it though (if it's a girl) coz we love it too much!!!

Other names on your list that i like are...
Kai Rylan?

Kiara is really pretty. Maybe Kiara Grace or Kiara Rose or Kiara Skye???
Just some suggestions..

I also love the name Piper for a girl... it's fairly unusual ( dh isn't so keen :( )

Hope you find something you like!!

Anything with a "y" seems to be gaining popularity quickly.

When I saw your "Tora" I thought of a friend of mine who was named Victoria but we all called Tori.

I'm with the Kylan, but I may just be little biased as it is a variation of my son Kailen's name. Believe when I say everyone who meets him says that's a different but BEAUTIFUL name. I thought I would never come across another, but I may be wrong now!! Let us now what you go with.
ps.. he was 12 days od and had no intention of leaving the premises!!! :D

I agree with the others Ella is really popular these days. In our playgroup we had 2 Ellas, 2 Isabellas (who got Ella) and an Isabelle. Kiara is beautiful and my sister's little girl is called that - there's a few around, but not too many.

I thought Byron and Kai also weren't too unusual as I know a few Kais (was one in our playgroup) and a friend has a Byron.

Agree with some of the others - have them as a middle name if you think they're too common but you really like them.

Try seeing how the name sounds next to your bub's surname. :D

How about Kaylee (Cieli ) it means joyful Dance (and after such an ardous task of naming you will feel like a joyful dance!!)

But I LUV the name Ciara/Kiara (Ciaran was going to be named it if a girl )

As for a boy I like Rylan James or Rylan Jai/Jay

Well that's my 2cents worth

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that we have our baby. Born 26/11/2005, 8.24pm, 3.85kg, 52cm by an emergency c-section (again  )

And the name, I hear you ask. We decided on;
Kyla Ellie

Thanks to all who made suggestions. It really did help having input from people that aren't close friends or family.

I have seen some really lovely names here.

As a former childcare worker there are just some names I refused to consider. Ella is one of them, sorry.

My daughter's name is Danae, and we get a few comments.
