well i am now even more confuzed as to where to go and what to do, someone bought up zoning. I dont know what the zone is for nsh? not looking good. does anyone know what the zone is generally for public hospitals??? maybe i can use my mum and dads address? they are in manly and i have bills that still go there! naughty naughty!!!! :shame:
Anyway....
have a great day everyone:D
Hi there,
I am not sure about the zoning....
I recently had my baby in Manly and wasn't overly impressed. If I decide to have another baby I will definately use my health insurance and go North Shore Private.
Cheers

Yup, hospitals have catchment areas just like schools do. Your GP will be able to tell you which hospitals you get to choose from.
A friend of mine lives out in the sticks and was only offered one choice ("I'd sooner give birth alone in a cave than go there...." she said) so she gave her In-Law's address and got to go somewhere else.

ains - I have read your other threads and replied in them. Why don't you go and check Hornsby Hospital out and see for yourself. You might really like it. As some people have written, they've had really positive experiences there. Have a birth plan. Talk to the Midwives there about your concerns about rumours that it's like 'Caesars Palace'. Empower yourself. Good luck.:fingerscrossed:
