Cystitis ... Ooooooowwww!

Hi Guys ...

I have never had this before, but am pretty sure that is what is bugging me now! You know, burning when peeing and feeling like your bladder is on fire at the end, backache etc ...

Does anyone have any home remedies for this?

I don't really want to go to the doc, as my option is going to casualty as it is the weekend and that would mean sitting in the waiting room for hours as it isn't really one of the more urgent problems. I also had no sleep last night as I was sleeping at my friends place loking after 3 of her kids and my 2 while she stayed the night at the hospital with her 3 ½ year old! I'm thinking that I may jsut have to get a good nights sleep and face the emergency department early in the morning :(

What about plain old Ural from the chemist? It's a urinary alkalinizer.

I get alot of cystitis - horrid isn't it .. and it works for me.

The sooner you can get it into you the better. Have also used cranberry juice.

Hmmm.

When it gets to this stage you may need to get some antibiotics for it.

but, what i always do first is:

1. Get some Ural sachets from the pharmacy and use as directed up to 4 times a day.

2. Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice! you might even want to get some over the counter cranberry tablets.

If symptoms don't get better in 24 hours then you will need to see the doc.

My grandmother always says 2 ural sachets dissolved in a glass of water, a warm bath and a glass of cranberry juice or water then to bed for a good rest works for her.

Well, I ended up in hospital on iv anti-biotics. It is pretty good now, just feeling a bit sore in the back still and very tired as I didn't sleep for a few nights!

I am at home now on oral antibiotics (great, side effects of thrush and diarrhoea :mad: ) and am now on metformin because they discovered that I am a type 2 diabetic too.

Hopefully, everything will clear up soon ... I'm getting pretty tired of feeling grotty :o

Thanks for your suggestions .. I will go with them next time I feel even the slightest burning ...

That sounds awful! Keep some Ural in your cupboard and as soon as you feel the start of it have the first glass immeadiately!
