I'm sorry if this has been discused before-I am sure it has-but I have until tomorrow morning to have a few questions answered. I am going to meet with a group of friends and make a few nappies/covers/bumjumpers etc...
I have made a couple of pockets before but never used swimwear elastic. I have some now and plan on using it but I can't understand the wee-wakka pattern properly. Basically, do I sew the elastic between the two layers (PUL and fleece) and sew OVER the elastic or stitch two lines, one on either side of the elastic? And if I sew on the elastic, do I just lightly stretch as I go?

Thanks so much nappy queens!

Mwah. Thanks Mel. I have one all cut out ready to be sewn but wanted to get it right. Unlike my silver star nappy, hopefully this one will last through the wash! I'll post a pic when I'm done. :hugs:

I actually sewed the 2 together first. .(PUL and Suedecloth) and then sewed the elastic on afterwards. I wasnt sure which way to do it then I turend a GK inside out and thats how it was done there. .so I did the same!

Thanks Krisseh. I have just finished (waiting for my batteries to charge to take pic!). I sewed it in between the 2 layers and then realised that it would be on the right side out of the nappy, so I did a second stitch line to 'sleeve' the elastic.
Your way sounds really easy-will try that with the next one.
