View Full Version : What to buy next?? We are using a capsule

Ok DS is in a Capsule that we hired from QAS, we have to return it in March. What should we buy next?

I am looking at the SNS convertible car seats as I want him protected as long as possible. He will be in a 5point safety harness until he is at least 5. And reward facing as long as he can.

So what do I get? and what is a maxi rider?

Hey. A maxirider is a car seat that is a car seat suitable for 6 months plus and then turns into a booster seat when they are over 18 kilos.
It just depends on what you are after and if you want to keep him rearward facing for a bit longer or until he is 12 kilos then you will need a 0-4 convertable car seat. Or there is a car seat suitable for 6 months plus called the "Discovery plus" made by Safe n Sound and Baby love also do a 6 month plus car seat.

So a maxi rider does not convert from rearward to forward? Its forward only?

If safety is your main concern, I would go with one of the Safe'n'Sound convertible seats in the 'Royal' type range. That's a bit confusing, what I mean is that S'n'S have a range of seats which have the same base plastic moulding but different fabric types and extra features which don't affect safety eg. SafeGuard is the base model and is as safe as some of the exxier models. This way you can keep bub rearward facing until 12kgs before changing them to forward facing until 18kgs.

The MaxiRider is a convertible forward facing seat and booster. Although they are rated from 8kgs, I wouldn't put an infant into one of them. Even a dedicated forward facing carseat is safer than the MR up to 18kgs.

yeah, my DD didnt go in a maxirider til 11 kilos, and only cos someone trashed her old seat:mad: anyhoo, I agree about the royale, thats the seat we had, and if I still had it DD would be in it til 18 kilos. also its rear facing to 12 kilos.

Sorry, I should have addressed that to emevity :o We seem to follow each other around in these carseat type threads and it was in relation to a comment made in another thread.
