My DH just came out and said "I hate Foxtel, all you do all day is sit watch it!" WTF?
Just a bit of background info, my DH travells alot for business so is not normally home tues-thurs. So he has no idea what I do.
Anyway he is home this week, and the fact that I have the TV (for background noise so DS can sleep with noise around) I watch maybe 3 shows during the day all about 30mins each, these are when I take breaks or am feeding DS.
I spend my days doing shopping, laundry, cleaning house, doing the little jobs that everyone notices and no one does anything about. But these are not noticed that they are fixed, cleaned etc.
Plus I take care of DS. He does nothing but hold him for 30mins in the evening so I can prepare dinner! :banghead: I don't get me time anymore (I knew this would happen and am ok with it) but to not be appreciated for what I do around here just annoyes the **bleep** out me!
He has no idea! He even forgot our wedding anniversary (was working away) and now Valentines day (we don't exchange gifts but a happy valentines would be nice).
Don't get me wrong I love my DH but sometimes he can be so selfish!
Men never notice those things and are pretty ignorant when it comes to being a stay at home mum, i'm sure many people get those comments. My DH doesn't say anything, but my twin sister used to say stuff like that, that i do nothing but watch Oprah and Dr Phil! :)
Well, i'm not saying i don't watch it, but you can always get stuff done in the ad breaks! lol. If i DID have foxtel, nothing would get done, i'm addicted to those maternity shows and renovations shows! lol
Oh, and Happy Valentines Day, i didn't get a mention of that today either, but what else is new.
Dh thinks that of me:banghead: But I'm on call 24/7 and I make sure his life runs seemlessly so all he has to worry about is work!
When they start crying like that i take it to mean they need a little more attention

Spend one whole day doing nothing but looking after the gorgeous little Spencer and see how long it takes for your DH to notice what you supposedly dont do.

i have the same problem - but in my case it isn't so much watching the foxtel (it is always on kiddy shows anyway) it is using the computer and chating on bubhub all day.
he seems to miss the little things like me teaching his dd how to do things, washing the dishes and cooking meals and treats for him and the kids and of course that never-ending pile of clothes needing to be washed, dried and folded. and then we have the cleaning - the kitchen, the bathroom, the floors, etc.
but it is nothing new to you ladies i am sure. but he seems to think it is so easy to let the baby play in the lounge and go off to clean and tidy the house. maybe for him, but whenever i leave her sight she screams and winges on the other side of the baby gate. if i let her out she tries to help when she can't and ends up making a bigger mess. then when i have finished all that - i pack up bubs and take her to my mothers and start work where i often don't finish until midnight. then it starts again the next day at 5am. he just picks bubs up and cooks dinner for himself and her then puts her to bed and watches tv or whatever until he goes to bed.
so many nights i come home and the dishes are left in the sink and the clothes that were folded on the bed aren't put away and just dumped in the basket again - and he is laying in bed peacefully snoring away.
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
thanks for the vent tho - i feel a lot less like :banghead: now

This is way my little plan of DH looking after Harry 1 day a week is fabo. He has done it for the past 2 years, since I went back to work. Before that I got the "all you do is watch TV" bit too, but now noooooooo way would he ever say that. He actually compliments me on how I manage to get everything done around the house and work 3 days and look after Harry, and get up at night if Harry needs me.
It's sooooo been worth it. ED just wait until DH has to look after Spencer for the day, I hope you never hear those words again.

I try to get everything done between 9am and 11am and then play with the kids and bubhub or anything else I wish to do!!
My hubby wouldn't dare say that to me cause the next week or so he would find nothing done!!
