I'm so stuck!
Even though we know it's a boy!
I think it's because we never settled on a boys name for any of the girls.

Any suggestions?
Fire away!

And does anyone have a list of names chosen yet?!
Come on! I know you've all thought about it! :D

Hello,

It's exciting name choosing isn't it? But so important too as you'll be saying the name forever.

There are lots of nice names out there, do you like old fashioned names, newish names, sensible or not so sensible?? :o Deciding this will surely help you narrow down a list.

Our sons names are Jack and Ashton. I think they're lovely names but of course i am bias
I also liked Luke, Bailey, Jacob, Kai, Ethan and Jeremy.

Good Luck!

Hi! Your sons names are very nice! Yep I like them!

DH and I keep coming back to more traditional, "sensible" names, we don't like many of these new sort of made-up names (not intending to offend!) But mainly because the name also has to tie in with the rest of our family. We'd like a boys name that's like our girls names - not so uncommon that they're weird, but not too popular that they're everywhere - does that make sense? I mean, when we named our girls, we chose names that we loved, but that we hadn't heard for a while.

Why is it so much harder to name boys?!
The girls and I have even named their 3 cabbage patch dolls with first and middle names! LOL!

Oh Niki! A huge congrats by the way on "one of each!" I just saw that this morning!
I love the names you've chosen - I have a brother called Adam and have always like the name - and Alyssa is my best friends neice - it's lovely as it's not too common and the spelling is different too (I have a cousin called Elissa).

It's hard isn't it! Especially when there are men involved, if it was just up to me i'd have names already!

We like different and old fashioned names, we named Ethan thinking it wasn't that popular but nice in the Feb and then all year we heard of more and more of them! In fact it turned out to be the 3rd top name that year, bummer!

Being a Jessica, born the year that it was the top name, it always annoyed me that there were so many others, in fact i never had a class in school whrer i was the only jessica! So we tried to steer away from popular names, still didn't work!

We have used our favourite girls name on DD, so now we are stuck for both girls and boys and cause we are not finding out this time we need to decide on both. The stress!

Niki - love your names, they go well together and with your SD's too!

I never thought I would actually have a 3rd so both my fav names have been used on my other 2. Jett's name was hard enough to come up with and Portia was always a fav .

We like unusual names and have been lucky enough not to come across another Portia or Jett. I find out this arvo what I'm having and I can't wait - but names will be a nightmare.

I already get - "You already have a car and a plane so your next one will have to be a boat" Fun days ahead!

I am still going for Imogen as I am pretty sure this one is a girl. Haven't even looked at boys names, man I had better hurry up!!
DH isn't convinced on Imogen, he likes it, but is all "Uhhh maybe, I dunno" so annoying!

Well you know my fave name is Xavier for a boy obviously. It was also not common until after we had him them, then Xavier's started popping up everywhere!
A traditional boys name I like is Luke, sorry my brain having a melt down can't think of anything else righ now, will get my baby name books out.

I love all your choices of names...
We have agreed on Hannah Elyse, or Alexis Rose if it is a girl and for a boy i'm thinking Hamish David, or Liam David.
I like the more traditional names but not so common, if that makes sense. I wanted something not so common around this area and that is how we got Zachary.
Anita - My nephew is Jet, only spelt with one 't' though. He's just turned 2, it was funny cause when SIL named him, no one in had ever heard of it, but now boys start popping up everywhere named Jett!!

We are definitely going with LACHLAN JAMES for our little man, it wasnt as hard of a decision as i thought it was going to be.
Its pretty much the only name that we both love.

TJ I love the name Lachlan!!

If we have a boy I like Christian Peter

AND IF we have a girl I like Ariana but I dont think DF will agree. We kind of have to have some sort of greek sounding name or it sounds silly with DF's last name!

TJ - good choice of name!!! Our DS is called "Lachlan James" also and we always get comments on what a lovely name it is. DS likes being called "lochie" and he also tells people his name is 'lock-a-lan' which sounds very cute!

TJ - Love the name!

Bewitched - you have my sons name down on your list Ethan Khai...

Steph I like your names too, in fact your girls name is on our long list too!

pixi - i like Alexi Rose & hamish too

Lil-X - Imogen is a beautiful name! Sending pink dust your way so you don't have to even try and choose a boys name!

It's so hard this time! I told DF that we have to start seriously talking bout names once we have the big scan on Tuesday, let the negotiations begin!

Congratulations to those who have managed to come up with names already!! :yelclap:

I agree that boys names are so hard, esp when you have to agree with the other half. :banghead:

I can't even get DP to discuss it. He reckons it is too early. But, I started trying to come up with boys names right after we had DS, cause we had so much trouble last time. We have NO boys names that the other person likes. We agree on a few girls names though, so send me the pink baby dust by the truckload.

I love the names all you guys have chosen so far!
We have a list going and dont think we will choose any till its born or at least till we find out the sex. Im trying to convince DF of the name Wyatt Lindsay or Wyatt James for a boy.. he may come around to it lol
As for girls we have a list of about a million... top runners are Charli, Reese, Corey, Cadence and Olivia so far.. not sure on middle names yet.. Im convinced we are having a boy though!

Last night DF "wanted" to talk about baby names!! OMG I couldnt believe it. We named DS Angelo after DF's dad (Family tradition) so DF wanted to name DS2 after my dad. I didnt want to name our baby Christopher but like I'd posted b4 I wanted to name him Christian (Actually I gave no thought of this being like my dads name...I never call him Chris!) and DF LOVES it!!!

So our bubba will more than likely be

Christian Peter

Jess - I know what you mean about popular kids names - Chelsea's middle name is Grace and after she was born I noticed that every 2nd kid was Grace or "something" Grace! I nearly changed it then thought - hey! I named her first! They can all change! LOL!

Chicco25 - I had to laugh at your comment on the car and the plane! I can just imagine now you introducing your family to your latest addition "Meet our little Queen Mary 2!" LOL! Seriously tho, I'm sure you'll find a name that suits!

Julie - well of course I'm going to vouch for the name Imogen! I think it's a gorgeous name that will grow with the child and suit when she's older. Also, I don't think Xavier is overly popular so don't worry - it's definately a name I like though - do you pronounce it Zavier or X-zavier?

Miz - The only advice I have for what name goes with Mary is to choose a first name with more than 2 syllables in it - eg Isabella Mary v Lucy Mary but having said that - Katherine Mary works well too - oh tough tough tough!

Laine - oh I LOVE the name Cadence! I had a little girl in my after school class called Cadence and we called her Caydee for short and she was the sweetest little thing! The next year we also had a Constance which I adore even more! Isn't it funny how you associate names with kids! Constance has been on my list for ages but DH doesn't like it. . .men

I can't believe how many of you have names chosen already! I love them all and think they're all beautiful combinations. Oh I don't think this baby is going to be named until he's born - I'm tragic - what if he doesn't look like the name we've chosen? For the moment we're just compiling a (rather small) list and will have to wait until he's born :( ;)

I love all the names all you girls have chosen (are considering). Dp and I are hopeless at choosing names, however at this stage we love for a boy "Malik" its a polynesian name (Tahitian) and means king. And if bubs is a boy and is a leo, then that could work well.

Oh we haven't even started!! We did early in pregnancy but now I think I was waiting for the 20 us but I might start looking tonight with him. That way we get to choose a boy and girl and if it comes out the opposite I still have an agreed name!!

If we have a girl, her name will be Skye Lee Evelyn and if we have a boy his name will be Zev Edward Peterson......they are both pretty much the ONLY names that Hubby and I can agree on. haha
