Hi there ains,
I just finished my second round of provera as I havent been ovulating, therefore not getting af on my own. I was prescribed to take it for 14 days though (I always get af before the end of the 14 days), but the usual course of treatment is 10 days. Ive only heard of taking it for 5 days once, but it was successful in that lady's case. Its fine. The only thing I found on it was that I was really tired a lot and emotional (as if I would be in the 2ww anyway). Nothing to worry about. The only thing to remember is not to get excited about being pg on it since the symptoms of the drug can be very similar to what you would experience in early pregnancy....
As for the blood tests, I assume they are taking one at day 3 to see your baseline hormone levels. The cd21 tests is a progesterone test to, like you said, check if you are ovulating. I am on clomid so I get the cd21 test as well.
Good luck - hope it all works well for you!

Thanks for the re assurance. I would have never thought that at 21 i needed help to get pregnant!!!! :( very sad!!! ANYWAY......there is (thank god) things i can do about it. I think my gyno wants to take things "easy" cause apparently "there is no rush!!!" his words not mine!
anyway, the only symptoms i have is a massive headache! but not to worry, i have this hearbal tea which promotes blood circulation and it eases the headsaches a little...
Hope your chlomid works!!!! What are the symptoms of that???
p.s what is the abriviation af??? (how embarrasing!!!!)

Haha...no worries hon...af means Aunt Flow (in other words, your period).
Clomid side effects differ from person to person, but the main ones that I've heard are headaches, nausea, visual disturbances, insomnia, and tender breasts. I didnt have any of those with my first round...but I didnt ovulate either, so who knows what next round will bring! :)
Glad youre doing well on the provera - I have heard of some women having success with that alone...like the provera "resets" everything. Hope thats the case for you!

I hope it kick starts the system...I am really bloated at the moment, mond you that also could be from my sour dough toast...I have always had a rough cycle, never on time, heavy, blah blah blah. But i have never had symptoms. No cramps or anything...
p.s did you fall easy with carter?

Ains,
No, we fell with Carter "accidentally" - we werent trying, but we werent being careful. Thats what makes it more frustrating...it was so easy with him and now that we are trying to get pg again, its just not happening! Its funny...I know quite a few girls who are in the same boat!
Anyway, let us know how you go!

I agree with Katherine...it generally takes a few days for the progesterone levels to come down and get af started.

India,
Provera is prescribed. I have been told that after provera comes chlomid. But i was talking to a dear friend today and she was prescribed provera for pre IVF treatment. So i am guessing it can be used for all sorts of problems.
Hope all goes well, we need to keep this thread going. It will probably save my marrige. My hubby thinks i talk too much about having a baby.....hummmmmm

Ains I am on sort of a time limit to falling pregnant due to remmsions from an auto immune diesaeas. The treatment i had usually ony lasts about 18 months to 2 years. I have been in remisison for 12 months now. I cant have the treatment whilst pregnant or be pregnant for a year afterwards so Doc is pulling out all stops to get me utd so to speak *L*. I had af then took clomid but am on to next cycle..Doc doesnt want to wait aorund for another 55 day cycle so hence the provera.
:fingerscrossed: for everybody
