I feel like I am only seen as a mum.

being with my ex, I totally lost who I was. Im just a mum. he totally stripped me of all my self worth.

now, I feel like being a mum is all people see me for, all I will ever be. I am not me anymore.

where am I? I lost myself and cant seem to find me again.

I know the feeling exactly. :hugs:

Being a Mum is SUCH an important job, that it' snot hard for it to totally swamp the rest of your identity.

Do you have time to pursue something you are interested in? Then you say: I am a Mum AND a writer.... or a Mum AND a photographer... spend time on yourself, focus on achieving goals you want to achieve for YOU

Are you at Uni?

I feel exactly the same way at the moment. I gave up so much of myself in my relationship but didn't realise it till it was over. Now stuggling to find "me" again. I love my son more than anything and love being a mum but thats not all there is to me. Thats why this year I have vowed to return to the things I loved before I was a wife and mother. I'm going back to dancing, hopefully going back to study and going back to being happy in my own skin.

Good luck with your journey of self discovery emevity. :hugs:

No, absolutely not. You're a strong individual woman who often makes me laugh when I read your threads. Im sorry you're feeling this way at the moment, I cant completely relate because Im not a mother. But I do feel this way sometimes when I work constantly, I return home and it takes me a while to get back into the swing of it all.

Remember to take time out for you, do little things each day to make you feel special.
