Hi
Just wondering what colour you had/or having for your bridesmaid dresses?
Red. My Fav color and for my wedding I wanted to go all classic, nothing that I'd look at in 20 yrs and go eeeeeew! Like my mother (peach bridesmaid's dresses) or aunt (aqua).

I'm to be a bridesmaid the end of next year and the Bride wants us to wear black - probably mid-calf, full-skirted black dresses. I think it's a bit odd... especially for a Garden wedding... but it's her decision (and at least I'll look thinner that way!).
When I get married one day, I want one of those champagney/taupey/ivory-ish coloured dress (that have a couture vintage look about them...)... and I'm thinking that if I have my bridesmaids in a regular colour, they'll look strange when standing beside me... because my colour will look somewhat 'aged' I suppose. I'm thinking about having them in that "pink pearl" colour... in a dress of a similar style to mine (with lots of lace and all of that...). Then have them wearing pink pearls (I want to wear a string of pearls ... maybe they can wear a chain with a pink-pearl pendant or something).
I'm not even engaged mind you, but I've been planning this for YEARS already!
I am having one bridesmaid and she is choosing her own dress. I have asked her to try and find something she likes in a dusky pink colour.
I have never actually seen her wear pink, its not a colour she normally chooses, so I appreciate that she is doing this for me. Although she put me in a backless low cut strappy number in peach for her wedding. I felt naked!!
Her daughter is my flowergirl and she takes after me, she loooooves pink! she will be wearing a white dress with a dusky pink sash and they will both carry pink roses.

Hey guys
Thanks for the replies.
I was thinking of a dark pink for my bridesmaid but im still not sure. I cant have blue, lilac or a mixture of Dark Pink and pale pink as DF's brothers and sisters have already had those... trying to find something a little different.
I want a pale pink for my DD's who will be my flower girls.
Mummy2be - Your dress and your sisters dress is very nice!
ukeali19 - The pale pink dresses are very nice also! Did the groomsmen have pale pink ties?

One of my friends had black bridesmaid dresses at a garden wedding. I thought it was odd too but on the day it looked really sophisticated and elegant. She picked the perfect dress for each bridesmaid. The photos looked great.

My wedding was shabby chic-ish. My sister wore a beautiful calf length pistacio coloured dress and my little flower girl wore a pink one.
seems pink is the most popular - so romantic! i was a bridesmaid last year and my dress was pink, its beautiful and once i get back to pre-baby body i will make DH take me to a ball or something so i can wear it again!!
for our garden wedding, i had one bridesmaid and told her to wear whatever she liked. her dress had purple and green in it to go with mine and my mum also wore purple and we had purple in the flowers too.

I had beautiful Ice-Blue strapless Bridesmaid dresses.
They had their hair down and curled with frangipanis scattered.
Silver high heel shoes.
Gosh, it was nearly ten years ago so you're asking me to think here!!
Nah - I had four bridesmaids in mushroom pink gowns, so a browny-pink or pinky brown....whatever! Strapless numbers with sleeves around the tops of the arms and rouched bodices, with A-line skirts.

When i got married my bridesmaids wore black:D.
They wore a bodice with an a line skirt to the ground.
When i told people the what colour the girls were wearing i got some strange looks, but on the day they looked stunning! They had different coloured gerbras in thier boquets, which really stood out infront of the black dresses.
I wouldnt change a thing:D

I was in my sisters wedding and we wore black dresses with a Champagne/Stone trim across the top! Black is different for a wedding but looked so classy! Good luck with your wedding!

We had a garden wediding, i told my bridesmaids they could buy any pink or green dress, just to think "party princess" when shopping.
My bridesmaids ended up looking really great and coordinated! they all went for pink!

Your bridesmaid dresses were almost exactly the same as mine! Very nice  .
My bridesmaids wore blue/teal dresses which I bought from Myer on SALE for $50 each :D I wanted them to have something which they could wear again in a style that suited them all.

Not married yet and probably won't have a bridal pary anyway, but if I did I'd want my bridesmaids to pick their own dresses so that they can each wear something different (though I would pick a colour for them) I would want them to pick something that they are comfortable in (for their body type eg someone might want a dress thats halter neck while someone else might feel more confortable in a strapless) also a dress that they can wear over and over not just once at a wedding and then it sits in the cupboard as a dust collecter, for my wedding dress I want to buy one off the rack (I don't want an actual wedding dress, nor does it have to be white) I want something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and something that I can wear again.

My maids wore deep purple. Men wore all black with bright orange ties, and their flowers were bright pink, orange, purple, green and yellow. oh and men had orange roses on their jackets.
Groom wore all black and white tie with an orange rose.
Here (http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n15/princ3ssah/) is the album, you can see everything.

I had pale pink bridesmaid dresses and would probably change that decision given the chance. They were very nice on the day but they look almost white in the photos.
