May I ask how long you were TTCing before you were allowed to seek medical help?

Clomid is very cheap....It is about $25.00 for a script....The side affects are not that great...but everyone is different....I normally get really bad mood swing and feel a bit sick in the tummy....but some women get no side effects also.

Enlargement of the ovaries
Pain in the lower abdomen in the middle of the menstrual cycle (mittelschmerz)
Over stimulation of the ovaries causing production of many eggs
Hot flushes
Abdominal discomfort (swelling or bloating)
Nausea and vomiting
Breast discomfort
Visual disturbances
Headache
Spotting of blood between menstrual periods
Heavy or painful menstrual periods
Endometriosis
Dizziness
Nervous tension
Insomnia
Fatigue
Skin reactions such as rash and itch
Loss of contact with reality (psychosis)
Stroke (cerebrovascular accident)
Depression
Seizures (convulsions)

Hope this helps

Cheers Helen

Congrats on starting a cycle on Clomid. Ummm I had to take my first Clomid pill on 2nd day of cycle (second day of bleeding) but I am not sure what everybody else does. That was just my instructions from FS.

I had side effects which were not great. I had bad mood swings, tummy pains, headaches, Hot flushes and insomnia. I cant remember what else I had, if anything. So it wasnt fun but it was definately worth it. I fell pregnant first cycle on lowest dose of Clomid. Unfortunately I miscarried our baby but I am looking forward to the future. I gotta wait until 2nd AF after m/c (I havent had first yet!) and then I can go back on Clomid again. I cant wait!

Hi there Trina!

Like Helen said, the clomid itself is quite cheap. I had no side effects from it, but I didnt end up ovulating, so my clomid dose is going up this round, so Ill let you know what happens this month! :)

Like Pebbles, I also take it from cd 2-6, but every dr prescribes different days. If you are going today, he may have you start it today.

Good luck!
