single mums working fulltime ??

i was just wondering if there are any other single mums who work fulltime or are planning on returning to fulltime work ???
i have a 7 month old DS and im returning back to my fulltime work the week after easter (9 weeks away) and i was just wondering how u coped returning back to work ??
i still live at home with my mum, mums boyfriend n my older bro and while im working my mum will be looking after DS only thing is i will be leaving home about 6:00-6:30am and will not return home till about 6:30-7:00pm 5-6 days a week and i just feel like i wont be seeing much of DS and im kinda starting to feel like im a bad mum but i dont wonna give up my job as its a good job and good money and i dont wonna be stuck on centrelink n also DS father doesnt give me anyone

I returned to full time work when my son was 6 months old. In my field of work I couldn't obtain part time work at the time. I now have a new position and I work 3 days a week and I am absolutely loving it.

I guess it is about a balance between work and time being a Mum.

I found that financially I was worse off with what I was paying in childcare fees, but if you are not up for that then it will definately be financial worth it.

I hope it works out for you and that you are not too tired on your days off.

You are definately not a bad Mum. You might be a little emotional when you go back though - just to warn you.

Is there any chance that you could work part time? or at least reduce your hours in any way?

I don't work right now but I just wanted to say you shouldn't feel bad about going to work. Your providing for your son so you should feel proud. I'm sure he will be proud when he's older and see's all the sacrifices and hard work you have put into raising him:yes:

Another thought, is there any way you can work part-time or less days per week without losing your job?

im a department manager in a retail store n i can work part time or casual only thing is that means i would have to step down from my management position which i dont wonna do one cause its good money n two cause work cant promise me how many hours i will be getting a week so in the end i might end up with less money than what im already getting from centrelink
