Has anyone used the avent variable flow teats. My daughter is due to go up to the next teat and this is the one that i have for her. I am thinking of buying the normal #3 teat as i think the variable flow ones might be a bit of a pain to use (always lining up the correct side of the teat for her flow type).

If anyone has used them, did you find them a pain to use or were they easy????????

Thanks
Janet

I've used thoes ones and they were fine, I also have avent bottles and used tommie tippie varible flow wide neck teats on the bottles, they worked a little better as you don't have to line them up, also little wishes variable flow wide neck teats fit avent as well, they are similar to tommie tippie

I tried them on DD and they were a waste of money in our case. It would just run right out of her mouth!

I think they are a waste of money, we brought them and it just seems that all 3 different speeds was all the same
I had to buy that teat due to having a thick formula but it would flow way too fast on the slowest speed

they are useless if you are using normal formual but are fantastic if your using reflux

I am using normal formula (not reflux formula) so can i still use them but just not worry about lining up the numbers (is the flow rate not noticable enough to worry about it?????) or should i still try to line the numbers up????

I bought them and they were a waste of money. Lining up the lines is a pain, I couldn't use them at night because I'd be half asleep and end up choking him because I'd forget to check, plus now he holds his own bottle and at 7 months I don't think he's able to check the lines :)

I'd just stick with the normal ones.

We have been using them for a couple months now and think they are fantastic.

I bought them thinking they would save me money switching up teats every few months, but when I first started using them, the flow was too fast for my DD. Plus, like you said, I found it a bit of a pain lining up the mark to get the correct flow. I also worried about others doing it when I wasn't feeding her.

So they stayed in the cupboard!

After a while I did use them here & there when I had to, and they were fine, but I don't think I'd buy them again.

i'm thinking they may be better for older babies who cna take a faster flow. DS knows how to line it up himself, ive seen him turn his bottle around to get the right amount of flow. so they do work, maybe it depends on the age of the baby, we've been using them since DS was 9-10 months.

We started comp feeding DS at 3 months and these are the only teats we ever used. I had no probs with them and didn't find it a pain at all.

hi, just new to the site

we use them now they are great, you have to line them up but it is certainly no trouble, my bub griffin loves them, we use them on "1" in the beginning, now "2", we also use the tommi tippe medium flow and they are quite good too.
