View Full Version : Maybe Baby?
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone has used the maybe baby? I am waiting for periods this month and am still crossing fingers that we will be pregnant but I just want to be ready incase we are not.
I have used an ovulation kit but I believe that a maybe baby would be more economical and easier to use, even at work.
Does anyone know the best time to test with one?
Help Please...

It was less than useless to me, I recently put it on freecycle and gave it away.
It was an expensive waste of money. I never saw a fertile pattern, even in the cycle I conceived #2 using an OPK.
On the other hand, when I used OPKs (twice), I got pregnant each time.
I've just bought a maybe baby and have been using it this month and so far it's done everything it says it will do ie it has shown pebbles than transitional then ferning. I'll find out at the end of the month if it was useful! Having said that, just because you BD when you O it doesn't mean that you'll definitely get pg otherwise we'd all be pg first try!
Also, for interest sake, the maybe baby does say in the instructions that it doesn't work for everyone as not everyone produces strong levels of oestrogen (the hormone you produce when you O) and also it says that your reading may be effected if you have eaten in the last 3hrs, medications, BFing etc. The best time to test would be first thing in the morning, before you clean your teeth, have brekkie etc.
On the subject of OPK's, I've used them a few times and they dont work for me.......I suppose it just shows that everyone is different.
Give it a go - what have you got to lose! Good luck!
i have a maybe baby test thingo too and it also works for me, but in the last month everyday it has been saying that im transitional fase. (i test everyday when i wake up, its on my bedside table), so i dunno whats up with that lol
Thanks for the info girls,
I used a OPK this month and it seemed to work but I was sick and had a few days off and it worked really well then when I was testing at 10 - 11 like the instructions said, but when I was testing before I went to work it didn't seem as accurate so I was hoping to find something like the maybe baby.
I have been looking at other testimonials on other pregnancy sites and a lot of women have said that they found the device worked better used in the evening after withstaining from foods for three hours.
I'm still crossing fingers I'm pregnant but if not I'm highly considering purchasing a maybe baby.
If anyone has anymore info please let me know.

Hi,
I just wanted to add that I had used to Maybe Baby and it was actually good I found. It helped to show me that I wasn't in infact ovulating on the days that I thought I was!.. Hence why I was missing my "conception period", and still seeing Aunt Flo!.. But I have successfully used it to conceive my number #2, and I would recommend it, and say that it was success for me!.. I say go ahead with it, you have nothing to lose..!
Hey all  ..Yeah I would give it a go  ..I had 2 m/c last year but it did tell me when I was ovulating and because my cycle took a while to get back to being more regular (after m/c's) it was helpful in also working out my luteal phase so I could make sure that wasnt too short either.
I get the pebbles..then a bit of ferning..then full ferns.I would definitely use upon waking b4 brushing teeth and other thing like meds and stuff can give you false results.
Worth a shot for me.Good luck. :fingerscrossed:
I tried the maybe baby after a friend recommended it when she fell pregnant 2 months in to using it.
I struggled with the readings for about 6 months and ended up spending a poo load of money when I had to replace my first MB after dropping it in my cereal one morning (what a bimbo!) when trying to focus on the results.
Honestly, I was getting ferns all the way through my cycle and after getting no acurate readings for 6 months, my hubby and I used it to see if his boys were swimming (sorry if I grossed anyone out :o ).
He was stoked because there were gazillions of the suckers under the microscope but all in all, I found it a bit of a waste of money.
OV kits seemed to be way more acurate and 12 months worth ended up costing me the same amount as the money i spent of my two MB's.

That is so funny as my husband did the same! I am so over the MB as it hasn;t really helped me. I'm thinking of charting temps next month. What does anyone know about that?

I used the MB for months and it didn't work for me, so I got some OPK's and I got my bfp within the first month.
