A good friend of mine is very into past lives and spirits present in our lives at the moment. It interests me but I never seem to have the time to delve right into it all. I might make it my new years resolution to get in touch with myself (and my spirits) a little better. Anyway thats off topic.....
My friend said yesterday that she thinks my DD1 is a very spiritual being and that she will have a fantastic understanding of life as she gets older. She referred to her as an "indigo child". So now I have a few questions....
What is an indigo child?
How do I find out about her past lives and mine too for that matter?
Can anyone recommend any good websites or literature that talk about this sort of thing?
And most importantly, I think, is - How do I nurture this wonderful facet of my child's being?

Hi Schmell,
Your best bet is to do a google search - there is a wealth of information available on the net. Read a few articles, take bits from here and there. I looked up Indigo Children a while ago, and found lots of info.
Good luck with your beautiful Indigo :)
Schmell, like Nickstser said there's loads of info on the net and there are also heaps of books you can buy.
Indigo children come to the Earth with much greater spiritual awareness than the rest of us. Technically I think Indigo children are now aged 7 to 25 or something.. and the new generation being born are actually 'Crystal Children' (so named by the predominant colour in their aura).
Indigo children were trailblazers - because of their spiritual awareness, they have no time for the physical limitations of life such as waiting in queues etc.. and often labelled ADHD as a result - but they are often very, very bright!
I was also told I'm having a highly spiritually evolved child and that I should read about Indigo children - but then I read that the new generation is Crystal children and they have softer qualities than the Indigos. Kind of like the Indigos blazed the trail and now the Crystals are coming to do the work. This is all about raising the spiritual consciousness of the planet.
It's interesting.. I still have heaps to read so am no expert but you'll find plenty to read. :)

Yes yes cosmic I was told about the Crystal children too by my psychic. She didnt say O was a crystal child but she did kind of point me in that direction iykwim.
She said all this stuff about O being intune with his spiritual side and that he has a strong connection with his deceased grandmother (DH's mum) etc etc.
She warned that he has an intense personality as if his on a Journey here on earth and that his been here before, but this life will be very important for his spiritual growth and stuff like that.
Hmmmm I found it all very interesting but havent really looked into it too deeply.
Fascinating stuff :D
Hey Sarah, I think we have all been here before. In fact, I recently read that no soul is any older than the rest. We were all created at the same time... so when people talk about 'old souls' they are just talking about their level of spiritual awareness. Becuase our 'job' is to evolve spiritually and some of us do it quicker than others.
My good friend bought me a book on Crystal children. I've just started reading it. :)

See now I went and had a look at Indigo children on the net the other day relating to another thread ... and Ben sounds like one. I know he's only 3 (nearly) - but it was him to a T and would explain his behavioural eccentricities. He's been here many many times before and I also believe he's here to teach us, not the other way 'round.
I'd like to know about the Crystal children as well ... are they like Indigo's?
deb
Deb, I think they have different characteristics. Whereas Indigos are sometimes thought to be ADHD, Crystals are sometimes thought to be autistic??
The psychic I saw actually told me to read about Indigo children in relation to my baby, so I don't know that the cut-off time for Indigos is set in stone. I can see if my book has a brief description if you like and tell you what it says?

Schmell,
If you are keen for books about Indigo Children - the Relaxation Centre in the Valley had plenty.
Sorry I just realised you were from NSW - maybe you have an equivalent in NSW.
Here's a little definition of crystal children...
Their eyes are large, penetrating and wise beyond their years - will lock upon yours hypnotically.
They are happy, delightful and forgiving.
Share many characteristics with Indigos - both are highly sensitive and psychic. Main difference is their temperament. Indigos have a warrior spirit since their collective purpose is to mash down old approaches that no longer serve us. they are here to quash govt., legal and educational systems that lack integrity. To do this, they need hot tempers and fiery determination. Adults who resist change and value conformity may not understand Indigos. (sometimes labelled as ADHD but medication squashes their spirit, their spiritual gifts and warrior energy).
Crystal children, in contrast, are blissful and even-tempered. Largely forgiving and easygoing.
- usually born 1995 or later
- large eyes with intense stare
- magnetic personality
- highly affectionate
- start talking late
- musically oriented and may sing before talking
- use telepathy and self-invented sign language to communicate
- may be diagnosed with autism or aspergers syndrome
- very connected to nature and animals
- exhibit healing abilities
- interested in crystals and rocks
- often discuss angels, spirit guides and past life memories
- extremely artistic and creative
- prefer vegetarian meals and juices to 'regular food'
- may be fearless explorers and climbers with an amazing sense of balance.

A friend of mine's DD asked her one day out of the blue "are there any vet's that are open all night"? Her parents answered and that was that.
Or so they thought, their cat was attacked by dogs the next night at 2am
She does and says alot of things that make me think she is a wise soul (this is the only one I could think of), I thought she may have been an indigo child till I read your explanation's cosmic? now I'm not so sure??
I'm not sure I'd get hung up on the explanations Ness. Clearly they haven't been around that long for anyone to come up with the perfect criteria.
Though I do think all little ones, regardless of indigo or crystal, are very connected to spirit and very psychic. Isn't it around age 5 that most of us lose it??

Is it possible to have a half/half?
cheers, deb
Deb, whether you label it Indigo or Crystal, it sure sounds like he's one of 'them'!!
They are actually brilliant and gifted.. not ADHD even though they are often misdiagnosed.
I have a book that's all about how to manage Indigos.. written by some teachers I think? Who first came across this generation of children and couldn't explain that these traits were presenting themselves across a range of cultures. You might like it. I'll tell you the authors when I find it. It's for parents and education workers primarily I think.

I have been doing a lot of searching on the net and lolling around bookstores and the like.
The books are written by Lee Carroll and Jan Tober. They are self help professionals and have written 3 books I think.
1. The Indigo Children
2. An Indigo Celebration
3. Raising your Indigo Child ???? Not sure if this one is by them or someone else.
There are a few other books around but I haven't found any that focus totally on Indigo's besides these ones. But that is only in Sydney (and not all of it yet). I am also interested in the Crystal generation. My DD1 definitely fits into the Indigo category but if she is a trailblazer, I want to know for who she is blazing the trail....IYKWIM.
Schmell, thanks!! DEB... those are the authors!!! :)
Schmell, the Indigos are blazing the trail for the crystals... apparently. I think there is definitely a new generation of children being born who are psychically gifted and spiritually sensitive with a job to raise the spiritual consciousness of the planet. I'm finding it difficult with the labels 'Indigo' and 'Crystal'.. but maybe that's because I haven't known any of them to see the obvious differences. My feeling is that not all kids are going to meet the perfect list of criteria, but most of us would just know if our kids were operating at a different level.

Hey Cosmic, No worries.
I am not keen on 'labelling' my DD1 but I am definitely aware (as is she) that she is very connected with herself, her surroundings (physical and otherwise) and has a fantatic understanding of so many things for her age. No maths and language things but more a spiritual understanding.
Now comes the hard part (thanks to the closed minded people in todays world) of nurturing her growth in that aspect and not letting it be pushed deep down inside!!

I have been told by a friend of mine, who is a Medium, that Indigo children like to practice coming through, hence the reason sometimes for miscarriages.

Thats an interesting thought.

Kelly.. sorry I missed your post! But you're right - I think it's really important to nurture that aspect of our kids' growth. Sounds like you are on the right track with books etc.
My book on crystal children says they tend to talk late but never have trouble communicating and will come through to parents who are intuitive enough to communicate with them without words. What I find interesting is that I've recently been reading about the concerns of higher rates of Autism being associated with the MMR vaccination (don't want to get into a discussion about that - just an article I glanced at!) but the book on crystal children says they are sometimes misdiagnosed as autistic. Coincidence?
This is such an interesting thread.
I have been reading all your words, and loved all of it.
I think by "jumping in different way of thought" as you did Cosmos, is how one of my friends and I talk, by relating simular ideas in different fields at the same time in a conversation.
It's highly possible MMR has a huge influence, or even other cruel treatments of our children.
I think personally it all has a connection what we see in reality as Indio being young revolutionaries, and I think it has existed through all times nothing new really.
I love the idea to take this on a spiritual level as I do believe we are evolving as a human spices, some souls are here are more evolved than the rest of us.
I do hate the idea to drug Indio children and put horrible labels on crystal children because they may be little later with their speech of words..
How knows, there are so many other languages the visual, the telepathic, sign languages, body language I bet any money that a crystal child would communicate in a more advanced way than the so called normal developed child...
This may sound strange going off the subject a little, but I did put a table cloth on our stereo that has not been see by my son since he was 6 months old.
It had Odin riding on his 8 legged horse on it and his ravens thought and memory flying next to Odin..
Anyway the next day Erik told me to lift him up so he could see the birds, we had a good old chat about Odin and his horse and birds.
The thing is that there was no way he could of see this with his eyes.
As I put the table cloth up when he was out with his dad...
I just get the feeling some times with Erik he can see in other ways than only with his eyes, if that makes since???
It is like he has a all over vision??
We have been looking at books together I have been pointing out little things he will then just turn pages back ward and point out same thing that is hardy visible.
It may not be more than he has highly developed observing skills...
I do believe children are closer to the other side, and are more in tune than most of us older grown ups...
Thank you for bring up an very interesting topic. I hope I will get hold of some books about indigo and crystal children...
Take Care Malin
