View Full Version : help please - problems with pram

My 3 month old absolutely hates the pram. We first thought that it was the bassinet attachment (couldn't see anything and she's extremely alert) so we changed her to the stroller attachment. She has a sheep skin and a head support to make the ride smoother and to help keep her head up. She will almost never fall asleep in the pram (only if absolutely exhausted and with a dummy). on short walks she starts grizzling which soon turns into crying and then screaming. She does this when she has been fed, has a clean nappy and no wind. I need to get out of the house every now and then (whether for just my own sanity or because we have to make appointments) but dread doing this as it makes her so completely unhappy. She used to hate the car as well but seems to have grown out of that (in the last fortnight). We drive very rarely though.

I would be grateful for any suggestions others might have for dealing with this problem.

that I do use a baby carrier and she'll accept that but only for short walks - can get pretty grumpy after a while as well, particularly if it's hot or windy. Basically she just wants to be carried in our arms everywhere!

Thanks again

Hi Sonja,
My first time here but I have the EXACT same troubles with my 10 weeker  . I had resorted to carrying her in the baby-bjorn everywhere but now have a bad back!

The last few days I have taken her for 5 min walks in her pram, stopping occassionally to smile at her and reassure her, and then going back home again. And I can only do this after a long sleep and a feed when she is at her happiest!!
I hope this will start to work after a week or so. Yesterday we had no pram tears and a ten minute walk..... a big step! Also I left the sunshield off the pram so she could see more. Hope that gradually she gets used to it so that when we do have to go somewhere she will be OK. Know the feeling when u get trapped in the house!
Hope this helps!

PS Is she a good sleeper(day +/- night??)
