Other than spag bol and stir fry, what can I do with my pork mince ?

Do you have a pie recipe perhaps ?

No pie recipes... but rissoles are a bazillion times better when you use half pork and half beef than the total beef ones!

Hmm, you could add lots of garlic, some soy sauce, and honey, and mould it in to sausage shapes, just be careful they don't stick too much (so if it's super lean I'd oil the pan)

I make won tons with pork mince - it's just mince with water chestnuts diced, chopped ginger, oyster & soy sauce - wrapped up in Won ton wrappers (found in supermarkets in the fridge section or any chinese grocery shop).

You can either fry the won tons or add it to chicken soup with rice noodles and vegetables

Tip - if you want to add it to a soup cook the won tons first by boiling it in water - letting it rise to the top and then drain - then add it to the soup otherwise they can go soggy cooking in the soup.

This is a recipe for pork balls that my family loves, even my 20 month old!! I hope you like it!!:fingerscrossed:

Really easy to follow too!

Sesame Pork Balls with Fragrant Rice (serves 4)

6 green onions, roughly chopped
¼ cup flat leaf parsley leaves
3cm piece ginger, peeled, chopped
750gm pork mince
1 cup fresh multigrain breadcrumbs (equivalent to approx. 2 slices of bread)
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
½ cup sweet chilli sauce
1/3 cup sesame seeds, toasted
canola oil for shallow frying
2 limes

Fragrant rice
1 cup long grain jasmine rice, rinsed and cooked
6 green onions

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
2. Combine onion, parsley and ginger in a food processor, process until finely chopped. Transfer to large bowl.
3. Add mince, breadcrumbs, oyster sauce and 1 tablespoon sweet chilli sauce. Mix to combine
4. Roll mixture into small balls. Place sesame seeds on plate, roll balls in sesame seeds to coat. Place on tray, cover and refrigerate.
5. Pour oil into large frying pan until 2cm deep. Heat over medium heat until hot.
6. Cook pork balls in small batches for 4min or until golden.
7. Transfer to wire rack over baking tray, bake on rack for 5 to 8 minutes or until cooked through.
8. Juice 1 lime, cut remaining lime into wedges. Combine lime juice with remaining sweet chilli sauce.
9. Mix cooked rice with green onion. Spoon into bowls, top with pork balls and drizzle with sweet chilli lime sauce.
10. Serve with lime wedges.

i found the wonton paper right next to the premade pork mince wontons.......so, no prizes for guessing which one i bought.

anyway, i have pork mince defrosting right now for dinner tonight. i was going to make patties with just the pork mince , lots of fresh coriander and mint and red onions ( and a smidge of ginger too). serve them like a hamburger with chargrilled capsicum and nice salady things in good bread. and i make my own chips too, so its all pretty healthy but the kids love it.
