quick question

hey all...

Jack is only feeding for 10 minutes on each breast... and then has a two minute nap before waking and asking for another 10 minutes...

should I offer him the SAME boob??? (so that he feeds for 20 mintes on one) - or alternate 10 mins on each??? How do I ensure he gets the best milk???

They dont feel hard after he has finished ... so I am assuming he is doing his 'job' :) properly...

I meant to ask the nurse yesterday and I forgot!!!!

You could offer the first breast again and then switch to the second but it sounds like you do not have anything to worry about. To tell the truth I stopped fretting about which side she last fed on after a couple of months and often did/do 5 mins each side.

Hi Jenny,

Ellie is doing exactly the same thing, so I offered her the first one again and she got really cranky so switched and she was happy!I asked the midwife this morning and she said that it means she's emptied the first so is doing a really good job sucking! ha ha YAY

Maybe just try Jack on the first and if he starts getting cranky swap.Could be he just needs a rest or he could be a "quick sucker" too ;)

I agree. If he fusses with the first then he has done his job and can move onto the second. :)
